I am guessing the Arohi drama, if not just for social issues, might also be a way to provide her and ruhi with a clean exit from Birla house. Like ofc the Birla fam will support her, but after its over she herself may decide to leave. She will say that she feels more like a daughter with Birlas than she ever did with Goenkas and they have always treated her like that, but until she stays there for the outside world she will always be Neil's widow. So she needs to move back to Goenka house for a start over and to create her own independent identity.

This will be a clean break and no one will be blamed or anything. She can then find her own guy and get married. I am guessing this time even Ruhi won't mind cause she has seen Abhi coparenting Abhir while he stayed in Goenka house. Plus she herself would want her mom to find happiness like Abhira.
