I see your point about people often working out of necessity, and you're absolutely right. There's no shame in doing what you need to do to make ends meet. However, I felt too that Akshara's jam-making job is being portrayed as something she has to do, rather than something she chooses or enjoys to do.
What if instead, the show portrayed her as someone who found joy, creativity, and fulfillment in her work, despite it being born out of necessity? Like her working in the nearby hospital as a music therapist or taking music classes. This could make a big difference in how viewers see Akshara's situation. Instead of seeing her as someone who's just getting by, they could see her as someone who's making the best out of her situation and finding happiness in it.
Akshara is making the best of the situation she got. At no point was it mentioned that Akshara hates her Jam-making business.
There are millions out there who are just getting by. Some not even that. It is the reality of the world we are living in.
Akshara s situation is much better. She and her husband both work to run their small nuclear family. So, they are sharing all the responsibilities. Akshara s jam business is famous. Abhinav does well enough according to middle-class standards.
They have a house of their own. Which is a huge thing in itself.
Akshara is also studying law.
She has a peaceful life, a loving husband, and an adorable son. Also, a great career ahead
Trust me she living a good life. In her own words, she is content and happy
