TRP viewers are drama viewers and have an intuitive understanding of trends. The second ML trend's been a great trp grabber for most prime time shows so it's not far-fetched to think it's added to the intrigue factor in yrkkh. Especially in case of the schadenfreude involved here. The white episode set it up quite well -- whether it was the CVs intention or not -- and the payoff may as well match the promise of its setup.
I don't see how they'll bring Akshara back to Birla house or Goenkas for that matter and show that what she goes back to having in that portal from hell is anyway better than what she had in Kasauli with Abhinav for six years? She's had a pretty stable, quiet, respectful life with a man who's been a godsend for her. At this point, he has also spent what 5 years more with her than abhimanyu with whom she had the shortest marriage of all time? As a viewer with no stakes in the game, I'm pretty convinced what she has with Abhinav -- what she can have with Abhinav -- beats what she had with Abhimanyu by miles. They might prove me wrong in the future but with the way ITV works and the hell-house she will have to go back to I don't know.
But interestingly to me, her potentially budding relationship with Abhinav becomes infinitely more interesting with Abhir's paternity truth, Abhimanyu's coveting, the conflict between the men and abhira simmering in the background. That's drama that grabs your attention I guess.
This is ITV. Making Akshara and Abhinav a thing only for Abhinav to possibly die later and for Akshara to return to Abhimanyu in the aftermath and for their lovestory to kickstart again only means more episodes, a longer stretch, more profits for the CVs. There's no way they think they can go back to the og yrkkh route with Akshara and Abhimanyu working together to solve Birla house problems as a married couple. Don't think it worked for them when they tried it. So what's left?
