I am not sure if it's only me but I found yesterday's episode really disturbing. Showing wife beating all the time that too from educated loser man at prime time on ITV is pathetic. Why did Shefali remain silent? One can bear that 1 time 2 times for sake of kid and I know that because I am mother too but she really wants to do that through out her life. Are you not encouraging that loser to do it again. Common your working journalist and your kid stays in hostel. They can show her moving out, going to her parents place or living on her own.

Why do ITV shows women so weak? Are they going to show Shefali forgiving Parth also for same reason her kid needs them or will she send him to jail? How Mahima a top surgeon supports this? Is this crime patrol we are watching or a family serial. It's not even entertainment.

These issues are not even handled properly that people who are facing domestic violence in real life take some lesson from it but instead they misuse it and portray it so negatively. I hope someone just file complaint against this so producers don't start using their audience for granted.

Nisha -

In this era of time...ITV is still 20 years behind....

It's shame that they are promoting DV...

But the fact is - In India ..this is in every street...especially low social economic status families..it's very common

Our home care taker..i saw him beating his wife..slap..i warned him...but they do it behind the doors...ultimately because of his anger..i told them to leave. Low social economic status women tolerate this and they think it's Ok

But seeing here...doctor educated family...it's very disturbing...

What to say...all men in Birlas are like that...Maatas who were victim..themselves are abusers of their daughter in laws...

Biggest shameless women - today -

Mahi herself was abused at work by her husband

Maata ...she was victim, Akshara freed her but she kicked her during miscarriage...

She is claiming to support Shefali..🤢 Shefali knows..maata will just utter some balance words and let her get abused day and night...Such dirt house to stay and breathe...

Shefali should openly fight..if she looses her son..then Parth will also loose his reputation...How come Shivu will not support her mother who is beaten by his father

Hi Nisha dear

Parth, nishta, are characters I never found purposeful. Most useless and nikamma of them is parth bhaiyya. Initially they portrayed as if Shefali is career oriented and careless about their marriage and now they show parth bhaiyya is a wife beater. The problem with DV is sadly a unrecognizable at work we are trained to identify victims of abuse, sadly we cant interfere in other lives, but even today it exists and is no less than modern slavery. And hence no human should tolerate DV. It can also create trauma in the little members of the household and can be emotionally unsettling. Sadly my British colleagues simply assume all Indian women in arranged marriages are victims of domestic abuse, which isn't true and I despise this serials for creating such spineless image about us(traditional Indian women)

I know dear. Even couple of girls who work in my Dad's shop tells me same thing. They face same issue. Thankfully one of them stepped out and took a job at our place. And she takess care of her son with that money .

On other side I know now why they kept Shefali silent yesterday. So their male lead can become mahaan again and redeem his mistakes. Matlab to show your leads mahaan use sensitive topic like domestic violence for women.

Agreed..its disturbing.. Plus they r incapable of handling a sensitive topic as such ..parth might be punished , but what about the mental abuse meted out to their dils ? 🤢

Bachu has become a Saint over night ..aroo is the flag bearer of feminism ..and manju is a bechari victim who is just worried abt her children hence goes on abusing akshu🤯

Ya Britishers and Americans all feel that Indians only do arranged marriages and face all kinds of issues lol... Oh ya and not to forget after slumdog millionaire they think whole India lives in slums ..Their mindsets are totally corrupted.. Thanks to our movies and serials.

But with IT growing up and our people running big companies they know Indians are very smart as well..my American boss only hires Indians and don't trust any other race.. Shee tells me Americans are lazy lol and Indians are most hard working and smart people in this world so yeah we are still in better position🤣🤣

I'm starting to believe that producers/directors/writers of Indian serials genuinely like showing women being tortured. It's like they get some sick sadistic pleasure out of it. Because they rarely show these issues being dealt with properly/appropriately/maturely. 🤢🤢

Precisely, if any DV victim would ever watch this crap they would either be triggered or the ones who are currently facing such situations would be reassured that they are somehow doing the right thing for their children when in reality it is equally traumatizing for the child to stay in such a negative environment. Children can sense when things are not right at home.

These TV shows should come with a trigger warning for PTSD patients.

They are just reinforcing what most desis already believe which is a woman needs to put up with abuse to save her marriage and one day, she will win her husband over with her patience. Like what even... are they ever gonna come out of the '60s?

It is indeed disturbing..and it is shown in a joint family of educated docs ..

Not sure, but if the makers show that Shefali stands up for herself now...against this DV, and parth Mahima are punished, and then they show shefali reflecting that she did a mistake by keepingg quiet for all these years, it could turn out t be a positive message that DV can exist in any kind of family, but U need to stand up and speak against it...the more you delay and suffer, the weaker u become...I hope makers take it this way...

It's the worst when they show such educated and strong women being this dumb and putting up with abuse.

I would also like to reiterate that abuse comes in all shapes and sizes. It's not always physical, but can also be emotional (mental), financial, sexual, and technological.
