This thought has been on my mind a ton and so, I thought, why not actually write it out.
YRKKH writers shouldn't pitch a love triangle if they're not going to portray it. Season 3 first promo was two girls one guy but we never saw Abhi and Aarohi interact in such a way that one could even assume Aarohi had feelings for Abhi or that he led her on in any way. It was always Abhira, so much so that they ran with it without developing those feelings beyond an instant soul connection and similar traumatic pasts.
They did the same with Neirohi - the writers assumed the audience would understand their attraction and root for it because they shared similar insecurities. But that's not what happened.
They brought in Jay Soni, who is a known ITV star, and they're trying to keep him onboard, for more than a cameo, by giving him those heavy lines and a heart of gold. But it's not working for most because we don't know enough about him and his background to root for it, nor are they writing it as a love triangle where Akshara and he share a bond beyond co-parents and possibly confidants.
In contrast, we have shows like Imlie, Anupamaa, KZK, and Udaariyan to some extent where the writers introduced Aryan, Anuj, Mr. Bajaj (Ronit) and Angad as intriguing, charming, and 3D characters that bounce back off their leads. When you see Fahmaan, Sumbul, and Gashmeer in a scene together, all three hold their own because their character contributes something different, and they're acting powerhouses. The chemistry of the new/second lead with the heroine was so great, they attracted a new audience for the show to the extent that their fanbase was divided by ships and it was exciting to see who would win. For the udaariyan example, they had to turn Angad negative to put Fatejo together because otherwise it wouldn't work since Karan and Priyanka's chemistry was bomb!
But here, we all know it's Abhira that's endgame and they're not writing it as such to create suspense. They're just killing off time to put them together and it's annoying the audience whose here for Harshali's chemistry.
