Can't say who is worse.. I couldn't stand the goenkas post kaira wedding..their graph went up and down but I can't single out a goenka who genuinely loved and accepted naira with all their heart ..

Suwarna did it initially but after shubham kaand , her true colors were revealed and she never redeemed in my eyes..

I still prefer kartik over all of them..he may have yelled at her , misunderstood her and he was an ass sometimes but still loved naira like nobody else..naira also had her share of mistakes .

Birlas story isn't any better but here, abhimanyu is also like them. He claims to love akshu but as long as his mother is happy , she doesn't Interfere in his or hers family matters , basically he is trying to dictate her life .

I won't blame him for not supporting akshu , listening to his family , nor will I blame akshu for being stupid , well she always is. There is something missing in their bond , and I can't put my finger on it . There was "never" any genuine love and affection shown between them. He always failed , she always failed in desperate times. And normal time toh dekha hi nai inka

Naw Goenkas were horrible people too in S2. Anyone who says otherwise needs to go back and rewatch it again. They were hard to tolerate and after a point, so was Karthik. This dude who didn't gaf about his family for years became obsessed with them after reconciling with his father lmao. Typical MLs defending their family but God forbid a FL defends her own family. Smh.

His wanting to get a share of the family business was not the same.. Samarth was just a blip, not a main character.. Kdadi wanting male heirs is not the same as what these Birlas are doing. As for Kartik "stealing" Keerti's baby.. He didn't steal did he? She was in coma and Naira had just escaped death and lost her baby and was in a critical condition, Naksh was injured too and in no condition to deal with any of it.. Kartik himself was mentally and emotionally traumatised.. so his making a hasty and not entirely wise decision of giving his sister's child to his wife to care for till Keerti gets well and situation becomes better(which was Kartik's reasoning) cannot be termed "stealing".

The thing is.. it's an Indian soap, and all such strange coincidences and happenings are it's bread and water.. But so far whenever yrkkh showed characters behaving in a morally ambiguous way, took care to craft plots in such a way that the sides involved in any conflict had justifiable points on each side, and there was always scope for redemption.. But now they are just throwing all kinds of crime and wickedness and not bothering to make it relatable in any way.

I completely agree...that one track was one of the best executed ones in s2 ..kartik had to choose between nairas life and kirtis grief and he chose former..just as akshu had to choose between separation and abhimanyus hand...but here the execution was bakwas.

I guess Goenkas were a framed in such a way you could sympathize with them. Initially Akshara's death's trauma was revealed through mansi's trauma and so you already sympathized with her and a father trying his best to keep his daughter out of jail (to an extent his motivations made sense to you). So did Kdadi and the rest of the Goenkas who were introduced as aristocratic patriarchal people to whom hierarchy, prestige, and structures meant everything. So the framing made sense. I guess, personal opinion, but the Goenkas were charismatic. The Birlas are not. Their motivations make no sense. They did initially. I actually thought they were the most complex family of the rishta franchise, even if a little dull and sterile, up until a point but post abhira's marriage they really flattened all of them, took away their personalities and motivations and now each day they really act as plot devices nothing else. Mahima who was so clinical, shrewd, and practical is now a screaming banshee. All she does is 'akshara akshara akshara'

Neel, Parth, and Shifali have zero personality left. Especially parth, what a disappointment. Mommy birla and papa birla skipped so many steps idek what happened there? so all he needed was manjiri to ignore him and he'd chase after her or something? idk they ruined the slow progression these two needed. Mommy birla and papa birla are probably the only interesting people left in the birla family. But to me personally they don't come anywhere near to the charismatic power both Manish and Suhasini Goenka held in their time. Those two were powerful, morally ambiguous characters who I enjoyed watching! They were never your typical ITV villains. Papa Birla could've been as good but idk what happened there and Mahima's definitely no Suhasini Goenka, probably the most powerful matriarch of the rishta franchise. All in all the word I would chose is tepid. Birlas aren't half as colorful or strongly characterized as the previous families.

Yeah birlas r like that..I agree , goenkas may be evil but they loved kartik ..for manish and mimi nothing in the world came before him..that's the reason they accepted naira with all the drama.

Birlas don't even love abhimanyu😆 here , in order to be heard , thy need a heart attack or become tantrum throwing machine, have an accident , become a drunkard, get admitted in the icu. Only then they start taking things seriously.

All of them will beg akshu to come bk when abhimanyu will start hurting himself all over again. N it's a cycle..manjari then abhimanyu , manjari then abhimanyu.

True and they were very consistent with their basic traits most of the time. Their intense love for kittu and their own values. Manish warming up to Naira was also very realistic and gradual. There were cracks here and there given the tracks but he genuinely loved Naira and so did Suhasini after a point. But the lead up to it was pretty organic imo. Naira and K-Dadi had a very complex dynamic. They had a back and forth going but they did show that at times Naira was wrong too. I think their overall dynamic was very realistic. All of them hating Naira post the 5 year leap drama was also very realistic. Like what else could've she expected?😆I think most of the tracks were set up in sync with their patriarchal mindset. Like if you think about it K-Dadi was a pretty vile woman. Hiding that her brother molested Mansi. Subduing Trisha so she'd back off. But all of that was in line with her patriarchal matriarch mindset obsessed with prestige. I honestly really enjoyed the Goenkas. I can dig deep and write an entire thesis on the 'why' but at the end of the day it's as simple as that. To me the Goenkas were just interesting. The Birlas are bland. Ab kya fault hai woh toh writer ka problem hai to figure out.

I feel they are increasing the level of evilness of ml family with each season

I watched few epis of yrkkh 1 so as per my knowledge they are very strict but not evil like goenka and birla.

S2 what i heard from others was they were bit egoistic

S3 here they are egoistic and evil.

S4 criminals ke khandan hoga 🤣

S5 terrorist honge 😆

S6 aliens from another planet 🤣

S7 the asurs danavas pishachini vampires etc etc

Personally I don't agree with the Goenkas being charismatic. Maybe I would have agreed when that season initially aired, but rewatching the show years later made me realize how messed up the Goenkas were too. Neither do I agree that their patriarchal mindset is an almost justification for how shitty they were. Being married into that household in reality would be a nightmare.

Albeit however their intentions were, but hiding the accident was absolutely disgusting and Naira finding out about it AFTER her marriage. Talk about betrayal. And then she actually forgave it smh. And Karthik getting angry at HER because he said you didn't trust me. Wth was that? The dude made it a mission to turn a situation around and make it about himself. Karthik started off as a great character but after his marriage he became something else. Another typical ML trend in ITV.
