In this scene, they leave their ego behind to reunite irrespective of their familial ties. And the most beautiful parallel of all was that in the play, Juliet is talking to herself about her love for Romeo, and he overhears… that is the moment he realizes that they are meant to be. And here, as Abhi is leaving, he hears Akshu saying that she wishes she had hugged him- identical scenes. The attention to detail is simply outstanding.
