As much as I agree with you on this show’s creatives really spoiling it for Harshad with the Sami stupidity n hearts etc can’t deny that Harshad is getting a super hit tv show with big bucks I presume and he deserves that hit TRP in his kitty …I’ve not watched bepannah coz I couldn’t stand Jennifer winget’s hyperventilating cringeworthy acting but have heard good reviews from folks…however at the end of the day beoannah couldn’t give commercial (read TRP) success to harshad

Anyways, waiting for the writers to end the madness and regain their sanity

I loved HC from the days of Tere Liye and man... he's a gem of an actor... He got his own brand... And honestly, I never watched YRKKH before this season... But what got me attracted was the magnanimous chemistry between Abhi and Akshu... But but but.... That chemistry was something I saw only before Tilak part... I loved each and every bit of the scenes before Tilak n pardon me... But I couldn't connect the same with AbhiRa then afterwards though I still love them. There's something lacking which I'm unable to put a finger on... Or else the story is going too much fast that I'm losing the count of actually liking it....

And coming to HC's character in this show, I would be lying if I say I'm not disappointed... I liked his character very much in the beginning... But then again... All I see is his character is solely dedicated to worship Akshu n there's nothing else for him to grow... N that's the biggest disappointment for me... Even the track between AbhiRa is as such, both are... Especially Abhi is being so self centric... N I really can't like people who doesn't balance relationships... Instead become monotonous... However, I still feel HC is putting his 100% efforts and hard work in his acting...(please forgive me with his baby voice with Akshu.... I'm sick of it... Sorry not sorry if someone found it rude)...

Right now, I really have mixed feelings with Abhi, AbhiRa, Akshu n their lovestory... Sometimes I love them and sometimes I just loath their characterisation... I just hope they don't ruin Abhi's character anymore. They have done enough damage already...

I have watched all of HC's shows and that is why I started watching Yeh Rishta (a show I admittedly used to make fun of for its over-the-top nature). In my opinion, all ITV shows are destined to be ruined at one point or another. My favorite shows of HC have been Humsafars and Bepennah, and his character was eventually ruined in both, even though it started out so strong. A part of it is that ITV doesn't end shows at the proper place and drags for as long as possible. Another huge part is that everything is a TRP game so they add nonsense tracks and scenes just to add drama. The truth is that ITV is not the place to go if you are looking for "quality" TV in the truest sense of the word. It is the sad truth. That is not to demean any show or actor... it is just the reality of this industry. This industry is all about melodrama, and actors do what they can with it. I think that HC is doing an outstanding job with Abhi's role and he is elevating what he has been given. I also think that Pranali is blowing it out of the park, and I love their chemistry together...chemistry is after all subjective. I am very happy that HC is finally getting the recognition he deserves, as I truly believe that he is a brilliant actor, not just in terms of ITV, but in terms of the art itself. In terms of why he chose the show, I can think of many many reasons. RS is highly respected, and this is a primetime show. HC himself has said that he has been given a lot of creative liberties and input in the shaping of Abhi...that is a dream come true for any actor. He is also deeply admired and respected on set. Working environment is critical too. He seems to be having fun with the character, and this role is giving him the opportunity to explore areas he has not entered before (i.e. different types of dance sequences)... the cinematography and direction is also top notch. HC is an established and deeply respected actor, and he knew what he was signing up for/ what type of show Yeh Rishta is. We should respect his decision... especially since he is such a picky actor and puts a lot of thought into his shows (which I really admire). Yeh Rishta ultimately has a range of all types of dynamics and emotions that can be explored if the makers desire. Whatever will happen in the future of this show, I don't know...that is up to the makers. But, as viewers, we can either watch or not watch depending on if we like it or not. Those are the only choices we have. I will continue to watch, because I have always loved HC, and now I admire Pranali too. I also find many of the supporting actors to be quite endearing.

Hello shalini, Moumita here, welcome to this madhouse 🤗🤗🤗

I agree with you, I started watching this because of HC ,I loved his previous works so I was eager to see him again, I am a bong so the og serial ichhe nodee was known to me, so I was really surprised that why Harshad chose this

Then I read his interview about this project, he was promised a new show not continuation, his character seemed promising at first, and he mentioned that he works when his bank balance becomes to a certain amount, so these were his reasons joining the show.

But I don't know why the makers butchered the character and made the cool sorted renowned doctor to insane crying begging mess with toxicity

The character assassination was so severe I don't know how they are going to bring the redemption and some scenes are really bad, like operating akshara, nothing can redeem them as they were beyond repair, it felt like so illogical and far from reality that it was downright funny, we don't expect much from TV shows (logic wise) but some scenes were legit horrible

I don't know how HC justifies keep doing this stupidity every single day, that's why he trolls his character mercilessly in the interviews because he is quite witty and I am sure making fun of the baseless story only keeps him going 😉

Hi Moumita, thank you for the warm welcome! 🤗 Everything you said is true. My jaw fell open and remained that way for the entire duration of Akshara’s “operation” scene. What even. It is a fact that every ITV show has its moments of disbelief. But the story itself in this show. Wait, what was the story? Does anyone even remember what the story of this show is anymore? All I know is, they’re promoting it left, right, centre practically every day on social media. Also, for a show they claim to be “new” and not a continuation of the previous story, they sure draw an unhealthy number of parallels to the previous season. So much for promises, huh. 😅

You know what I think is happening? Harshad is probably on the cusp of rethinking this whole thing. He can’t even walk away from this right now, barely 4 months in. He has no choice but to stay stuck here for a while.

First off, hi everyone. My name is Shalini, I’m new here. Also, I need an outlet right about now cause I’ve hit the limit of my patience. Like what in the world is this show. Seriously. I’ve been a loyal follower of Harshad‘s since the day the first ep of Kis Desh hit my tv screen 14 years ago. This man worked so hard for 16 years to be recognised and taken seriously. And this show has made a whole damn joke out of him within 3 months. I don’t understand. I’m just going to be real here. It’s clear as day that Harshad and this show are a complete mismatch. Especially at this point in his career, with his calibre. I could understand if he was like a newbie actor taking on a lead role for the first time with this show. But he’s essentially a veteran now, an international level brand. This show is practically misusing him with their over-the-top, forced, ridiculous scenes. It pains me so hard to say, even his usually incredible acting is looking so bad here. Harshad once said in an IV for Bepannaah that he only does shows where there’s a need for Harshad, The Actor. I’ve yet to see anything in this show that specifically requires or properly utilises Harshad’s calibre. Maybe I’m missing something here. Can someone be so kind as to tell me how Harshad came to agree to do this show? Did he give any reasons for signing it in any IVs? I apologise if this hurts anyone. I really tried to keep my thoughts to myself. But after the whole saami fiasco, I’ve lost all patience. After reading some (incredibly funny) threads on this forum from likeminded users, I felt safe to vent here. I feel beyond frustrated for Harshad. The man already takes years’ long breaks between projects due to not getting suitable projects. Judging by the way this show is going, I’m afraid that it’ll make things worse for him in future with all of this going down in his portfolio. From what little knowledge I have of this show, it looks like they’ve basically repackaged the previous leads’ (Mohsin and Shivangi) story and are reselling it with new faces. And they’re doing this at Harshad’s expense, by taking advantage of and riding on Harshad’s growing popularity (stemming from his outstanding work in Bepannaah). Sure, they might be sweeping all the popularity awards and trp charts now. But once the “honeymoon” period gets over and people start looking closely at the story, which I think more and more people are already starting to do now, I worry so much about damage control for Harshad and his branding.

Also, I’ll probably get a ton of hate from shippers for this, but WHAT CHEMISTRY. I mean, sure. Harshad and Pranali do have chemistry. But I just don’t get romantic chemistry from their equation. I keep getting bhai-behen vibes from them and their interactions, both offscreen and onscreen. And the vibes keep getting stronger with every episode. And this has nothing to do with their real life age difference (I really liked the chemistry between Mohnish Behl and Kritika Kamra in Kuch Toh Log Kahenge despite their bigger age difference, fyi). I feel like the casting itself is a little forced. And to make up for it, they dress Pranali to look older and make Harshad say strange things in cringey tones to sound younger. It’s clearly not working either ways, and just plain awful to watch them keep trying. If you think about it, the whole older man-younger girl trope doesn’t actually have any real intended role/effect on the plot (what is the damn plot btw.). It was practically forced into the story just so the show makers could somehow fit Harshad and Pranali in the show. Again, I apologise if I hurt anyone with this. It’s not my intention at all to bash/spread any hate.

Looking at it another way, this show's creatives are doing everything possible to cram in all of HC's facets and talents. HC is super athletic, so let's make a restrained mature surgeon leap over carts, jump through windows and hang upside down from trees. He's toned and muscular, so let's have him ditch his shirt wherever and whenever, at the drop of a hat. He likes to twirl sticks, so let's have him do a twirling routine in his bedroom for no good reason. He wants to do a tandav, well let's have him do that one too for the heck of it. He acted all zany and out there as Aditya Hooda, let's have Abhimanyu Birla do the same even though the two characters are poles apart.

I don't know if HC provided DKP with a wishlist of all the skills and vignettes he wants to utilize on screen or if they went through his former shows and Insta to make their own checklist. But this (bold) is the only part of your spot-on comment with which i disagree😆
