Part 2

Abhi was waiting at Dr.Rathod’s cabin for the reports. He couldn’t wait for the ward boy to hand over it to Dr.Rathod that he snatched it from his hands and went through them. Dr.Rathod surprised by his behaviour asked,” is everything alright Dr.? Is she related to you? Abhi looked at him and answered, “Yes. She is my everything” and smiled to himself. He was relieved that her reports were normal so were her vitals. Looking at the X-ray, Dr. Rathod told him,”her family was telling that she had been at your medical camp that caught fire yesterday and looks like she has inhaled smoke and proper first aid was not given.”

Tears brimmed from the corner of his eyes. “I left her there believing Arohi. How could I do that?how did I not sense her?”. Thoughts kept occupied him all the while walking through the corridor leading to her ward. A sense of disgust surrounded him at his very behaviour. Upon reaching the ward, he peeped in through the glass and saw her asleep due to the medicines. He smiled to himself and opened the door. Suddenly, a thought ran in his mind. He did not want to show her his desperateness. He wanted to give her the taste of her own medicine so that she realises the pain when ignored by loved one. His legs pleaded him to go near her, his heart longed to be with her, his hands cursed him for not allowing them to take her in them but still his mind was adamant. A No is a No. He made up his mind to get the truth out of her.

He gave a flying kiss, “take care my love. We won’t be apart anymore” and left the place quickly before being noticed by the Goenkas.

Akshara woke up and her eyes kept wandering here and there. She had sensed him being around. The Goenkas one by one entered her room and tried to cheer her up. She was physically present while her heart was only longing for one person. “Why would he here? He does not even know what happened to me? Still why do I expect him, long for him?” she thought to herself.

Abhi entered home with a smile and it did not go unnoticed by his mom. She came near him, spoiled his hair like she usually does and he was like,” Maa, don’t do this I don’t like it”. Manjari couldn’t believe her eyes. Her son had become normal like before. She asked him,”what happened”. “Nothing”, he said and walked away to his room so that he could avoid all the questions.
Abhi was all freshened up and he lied on his bed thinking whether to call her not. Suddenly his mind voice quipped,” Abhi beta, tu toh waise bhi usse baat kiye Bina nahi reh sakta ab toh sach pata chal gayi toh kaise chup rahega.” He got with a jerk and repeated to himself that he ll won’t give into easily. However, his hands without his permission, took the phone to dial her that Arohi called him. He felt rage fill him seeing her name. He cut the call without picking it up,”Dr. Arohi Goenka meri saali Sahiba aapse aaram se nipat loonga. Pehle apni biwi se toh nipat loon.” Saying so he dialled Akshara’s number.

Akshara picked up,”Hi… kaise phone kiya”. Abhi (while muting the call) “my foot isko toh baat hi nahi karni yahan mein mare jaa raha hoon”. Unmuting it,”heard you were unwell. Just wanted to check if you are fine.” A smile escaped her lips thinking how concerned he was about her,”I am fine. Thanks for you concern.” Abhi was completely done with this behaviour of hers,”I called only since you were my intern’s sister and nothing more.” Akshara felt a pinch in her heart but he was right why would he be concerned after all she has broken his heart a hundred times. “Anyways take care” while he still wanted to continue the call expecting her to say something.
“Did you come to city hospital today?” She asked him hesitatingly. Abhi smiled at this. He was happy to know that even she feels him the way he feels her when she is nearby. Taking deep breath, he lied “no. Why would I? Main ek surgeon hoon and I am busy always. I don’t have time for anything else.” He broke her heart for the first time. It pained him but he had to do this to make her realise that she too loves him with all her heart. She needs to understand that for one to be successful in love trust and partnership is necessary. She had to realise that she cannot live without him and had to make her come out of this denial and sacrificial mode. It is necessary for her to understand that by giving upon love none of them will be happy.

Love, love, loved it. I like how Abhi is giving it back to Akshu. I hope this happens in the show too so Akshu values his love and hers as well and stops this sacrificing mission she’s on.
