Part 1

Abhi wanted to get back to normal as early as possible post his new realisation that he is “kuch nahi” for his “sab kuch”. Akshara, finally dozed off weeping the entire night over the happenings as for Arohi it was a good night’s sleep.

Morning at the Birla hospital;

There was commotion regarding a patient’s daily notes. Doses had to be reduced and no one was sure about the same since it was Arohi’s case and she was no where to be found.

“What’s happening”, came a stern voice from behind.

The other intern gulping down explained the problem. “Where is Dr. Arohi”, he growled. It was dr. Abhimanyu Birla. The intern had almost fainted with his growl, he tried to talk but came to know that only air was coming out. “In my cabin now”, he gritted his teeth and walked away.

The intern, upon entering inside, told him quickly before he could ask anything, “her brother came to pick her up. Looked like someone is hospitalised in their family. Guess her sister.”

Abhimanyu’s heart stopped for a minute and he repeated,”Akshara is hospitalised. What happened to her”. The intern asked,”Sir, can you please prescribe the medicine?” Abhimanyu was still in a state of shock. The intern waved at him to bring back to reality and he quickly prescribed the medicines and their doses. He dropped in a mail and cancelled all his appointments all the while mumbling, “how can I leave her in the hospital? How can I not be there for her? She loves me or not I don’t care but I love her. That’s enough. But how do I find which hospital she is in.”
Just then, Neil barged inside shouting, “bro….bro…” “ I am in no mood to talk now. I have to leave”, he replied in haste. Neil stopped and showed him something on the phone looking at which Abhi’s eyes widened and tears stood at the edge. It was a recording of the fire accident that happened yesterday and he saw Akshara jumping into the fire screaming his name. Neil placing hands on his shoulders,”Bro, someone had picked up Maa’s call from your phone and wrongly switched on the recording.”

Hugging Neil, he sobbed bitterly, “she saved me and I… I thought she left in that state.” Wiping up his tears and composing himself, he told Neil,”it seems she has been hospitalised and I have to leave now.” On the way, Abhimanyu called one of his contacts in city hospital to check and confirm if she was admitted there as that was nearest one from the Goenka mansion. He drove in a rage and reached in almost a record time. His patience was dead by now that he could not even park the bike and it fell on the ground. While trying to pick his bike, flashes of how Akshara almost fell on him while trying to park the bike came in front of his eyes. Everything reminded him of her. He felt like he never lived before seeing her. He was quick to move from there when he heard Kairav and Arohi’s heated arguement.

Arohi (out of fear) spitted the truth,” so she told you everything is it? And ended up doing this drama of panic attack so that I won’t ask her anything?

Kairav trying to calm her, “Arohi… don’t scream. I am just trying to…,” she cut him off saying,”yes I lied everyone that I saved Abhimanyu. Akshara had saved him by jumping in and brought him out wrapped in a carpet. I just gave him the first aid as a doctor.”

Kairav shocked,”you lied Arohi to all of us? But why?”…. Wait a minute do you still have feelings for Abhimanyu.”

Arohi realised that Akshara had told them nothing and she blurted it out but keeping her head strong, she said,”yes I do have. I still want him. Best ko best hi milna chahiye bhaiya. Akshara is not a match for someone like Abhimanyu.”

Kairav fumed at her,”now I understand. You asked her to back out right. You told her to lie to him right. Bcoz she does anything for you.”

Arohi frustrated with the array of questions,”yes I did all the emotional blackmailing. I told her to move out of my way. I told her that I would break all ties with her if she accepts this relationship.”

Abhimanyu was hearing all this standing behind a tree and was completely shocked. He felt like someone had stabbed him a hundred times. He had believed Arohi’s lie and failed to find out the truth. He couldn’t imagine the pain Akshara underwent while still bearing Arohi and living with her.

Arohi continued,” everything happened to my luck. She fought the case but the Birlas credited me thinking I asked Akshara to speak up. Akshara did Pooja for his mother but he saw me at the temple and thought I did it. So why not I use the opportunity.”

Kairav felt disgusted,”I couldn’t imagine my little sister will stoop so low. Your dreams will never come true.” and he walked off. Arohi not an ounce of guilt in her walked away towards the hospital building just to upto a facade of sadness in front of her family.

Abhimanyu still unable to believe all that he just heard stood up, wiping his tears walked to where his Akshara was.

The room was surrounded by the entire Goenka clan. He tried to peep in to have a glimpse of her while hiding from the Goenkas. The mere sight of her awake and normal gave him a sigh of relief. He was waiting for them to come out so that he could meet her but before that he thought of getting her reports checked.
He pulled his phone out and dialled,”Dr. Rathod, would like to discuss Akshara Goenka’s reports”.
