I agree with you but I honestly think Suwarna's plan will backfire. This new girl will actually provide an objective view to Karthik so that he realizes that he is blinded by his love for his SM that he couldn't see things as they were with his eyes properly.

I think the point of this new girl is to facilitate a patch up and to make him realize that his reactions were wrong. At the end of the day she wants her friend Karthik to be happy and she knows his happiness lies with Naira.

And to answer your ? He was drinking because he couldn't deal with all that happened SM depression, Shubnam's death, Naira going away. The floor underneath his feet crumbled and his world was shattered. (That is his view on things.)

in all dis he just accepted naira did wrong ...and den showd ego by not returning back to him ...she is happy on her own and does not need him ...n now d last one ..she wants divorce coz she has moved on and does not want anything to do with him ...
all dese are his explanations to help him survive widout naira ...
aashi and d further situations regarding mansi marriage may help him realize how much wrong he is ...n dat may trigger d aashik back in him who is in deep slumber as d after effects of divorce notice ...
