Thanks for info Fouzia. I was also thinking that it was only 14 to 15 days before Akshara's marriage.

This is so strange . Few days before marriage you have lot more work to do shopping and all that how can a girl find time to learn all these things right then.😲

Few rasms ( Haldi, Mehndi etc....) also gets started 3-4 days before marriage.

Yes Anu you are right, But Rajshri had already prepared everything for Akshara, so she didn't do any shopping for her marraige . . .

Hey now I realized they didn't show any marraige shopping in the show at all, only few times that sari wala had come and one ot two time jewellers had come thats it.

If a girl parents want to send something home cooked to the girl's in-laws house for the first time , then sending a tray of salad made by the bride herself is a good option .

Remember Akshara 's salad was send to the Singhania's.

I find it some what odd to send a tray of salads. They must have send some other thing made by Akshara , other then salad.

Pinky , Some households don't allow there DIL"s to wear suits after marriage. This is from my personal experience. I have seen myself such kind of thing. They have to wear sarees & only sarees.

Great topic! I noticed that in a house full of servants including a maharaj, cooking is done by the ladies (haven't really seen maharaj do any cooking). And even with that many servants, Akshara or Naitik have to iron his shirts themselves.
