Late evening
"Sweetyji, Dekha aapne. Thode se risk se kitna fayda ho gaya. KK sir bhi bohot impressed hain", Siddhant beamed in pride. There was no fun in life without a pinch of thrill that made up for the drudgery of routine.
"Haan par bauji, aap aise risk naa liya karo. Kisi din kuch upar neeche ho gaya, toh? Uss din bhi Srikanth waale case mein. Bekaar mein meri halat tight ho gayi thi. Aapko toh kuch nahi hota, mera hi BP chappad faad deta hai. Woh khoon ki ulti dekhkar main itna darr gaya tha aur jab doctor ne kaha ki inki family ko bula lo, ab kuch nahi ho sakta..."
"Kya hua? Abhi toh hum theek hai naa, ab kyun chehre ka rang uda hua hai?"
He gulped down a lump. Right at the door was Anushka. And it was difficult to tell that she was fuming or crying. Tears rolled down her cheeks.
Siddhant looked at Sweetyji. He narrowed his eyes on him and then looked at her.
She furiously turned around and barged towards her cabin.
"Sweetyji, yeh kya raita phaila diya!", He whispered to him before running behind her.
"Main nikalta hoon bauji", he tried to shout. He knew this would take long.
*
Anushka stood near the window. Echoes of various sorts started piercing her mind and ears alike.
Siddhant bohot ambitious hai, woh apne fayde ke liye kisiko bhi hurt kar sakta hai
Yeh jo aage daudne waale log hote hai naa, unhe bohot jaldi sahare ki zaroorat padti hai
He knocked on the door. She turned around with a tear stricken face.
"Anushka, aisa kuch nahi hua tha. Okay, woh drugs the par hum zinda hain, tumhaare saamne khade hain. Aur waise bhi Srikanth ne kaha tha naa, hum itni aasani se nahi jaane waale", he smirked but soon realised that he'd further ignited her frustration.
"Tumhe koi idea nahi hai naa, mujhe kaisa feel ho raha hai? Agar pata hota toh aise nahi bolte! Tumhaari jaan pata nahi tumhaare liye kitni important hai, par mere liye bohot zyadaa important hai", she said it in a go, without blinking an eye.
Sid stood there frozen, like he always is, when she's in an awful mood.

"Siddhant! Siddhant!"
"Aree kya hua? Kyun chilla rahi ho?", He responded casually.
"Tumne highway par bike chalai? Woh Bhi bina helmet?", she said angrily.
"Haan... "
"Baitho idhar pehle. Not a word!", She ordered.
He sat down on the chair, without protest. Any effort to calm her down was completely futile and he knew he had to go through this ordeal now.
"Mujhe promise karo ki aaj ke baad aisa risk kabhi nahi loge"
"Anushka tum overreact..."
"Promise me!", She asserted, cutting him short.
"Accha theek hai. Promise", he gave in.
*
"Anushka humne tumhein promise kiya tha ki Srikanth ko kuch nahi hone denge?"
"Aur apne pehle promise ka kya? Tum samajh kyun nahi rahe, jaan rahegi toh hi toh zindagi mein aage bhadoge naa", she tried to explain.
"Par Anushka, thoda bohot risk toh lena padta hai. Tum humein aise kaam karne se nahi rok sakti!", He protested.
"You know what, baitho tum idhar. Aaj tumhaara saara ambition, sab kuch bahar aa jaayega", she told.
She hastily typed a document while Siddhant still couldn't fully feel what was happening. What possibly had unleashed the terror side of this soft girl here? Why was it him always that inflicted her with all emotions?
In a few minutes, there was a print ready.
"Yeh kya hai?"
"Padho aur sign karo", she said.
"Kaise terms hain yeh!? Hum koi border par sipaahi hain kya?"
"Lagta toh hai. Tum kabhi bhi, kuch bhi kar sakte ho, fayde ke liye"
"Humph!", He huffed and signed it.
The document was a deal for an employee of Reddy Corporation. Siddhant couldn't put the company's honour at stake for any reason, had to report to work daily and was strictly refrained from risking anything from the company's reputation to his life.
"Toh tumhe aisa lagta hai ki hum company ki reputation ko stake par laga sakte hain"
"Bilkul", something had made her so adamant today. "Abhi abhi tum keh rahe the, ki koi risk liya hai tumne, company ke liye"
"Permission lekar kiya tha humne!", He defended himself.
"Siddhant, yahan baat bharose, trust, yaa vishwas ki nahi hai. Yahan baat hai tumhaari. Main nahi chahti tum ambition ko lekar andhe ho jao aur kuch aisa kar baitho jise sudhaarne ka mauka shayad tumhe naa mile... Aisa kaam kabhi mat karna jiske baad tumhein neend naa aaye. Aur Prabhakar uncle bhi tumhe yahi samjhana chah rahe the", she told him calmly.
He could see his Pitashree's glimpses in her, for the umpteenth time. Try as he may, Prabhakar's words had never left him and he had to abide by him everytime, willingly or by force. He was gone but he'd left behind his legacy, his shagird who shook him everytime he went astray. He was both annoyed and thankful for that. There was someone he could fall back upon, in difficult times.
"Waise humein chinta karne ki koi zaroorat nahi. Tum ho naa, humein kaan kheechkar sahi raaste par laane ke liye", he thought.
He nodded in acknowledgment.
"Toh promise?"
"Promise", he took up her hand in his and pressed it gently as assurance. He could see a smiling face staring back at him. He understood what she was trying to say but still believed that no such situation could possibly arise that could shake Siddhant Sinha. But yet, for her happiness and peace, he resigned to her orders. He very well knew by now when she was upset, he was upset too. And in this race called life, there was no room for hurting each other. One only had to move ahead at all times, with or without compromises.
"Siddhant, tumhein ghar drop kar doon?", She offered.
Just as he was about to refuse it, he was reminded of his newly made promise. And how important it was for her, more than him.
"Haan", he smiled back at her as they winded up things for the day.

PS : Sorry Hiya, couldn't incorporate the drunk part cause it didn't fit in the plot. But next time, I'll come up with an exclusive OS for that.😃
PPS : It isn't completely up to the mark. I'll be happy if someone points out what exactly is amiss :)
Cheers,
