I didn't really read too much into that dialogue, since that is what most dads from that generation want for their kids.

Prabhakar has kept his family away from the Reddys, because he doesn't want the greed to engulf the innocence of his family. He is not with the Reddys for the money, but something else. Is it the respect he gets being the advisor to KK? He has developed a bond with KK over the years, his work for KK excites him, as well as keeps him away from his family. That could also be the part he would want to change about himself. He overcame the moh for money, but he chased adulations over quality time with family. He feels he has not lived a full life. He must want Sid to overcome what he couldn't...here his son seems to falter even with what the father managed to conquer. It must be quite disappointing.😆

I really feel for Prabhakar, Ri. And yesterday I felt Sid would give his dad a massive heart attack one day!😭

It was quite the opposite for me, Soup. I felt the whole conversation of paying the price of success etc was built up on that.

Adulation over money... hmmm... I feel there is something more than that.

I felt for Prabhakar, today. His son disappointed him yet again. Quite liked that scene though. He was relentless until Sid finally owned up. Nothing dramatic or the typical slap.

Loving the discussion on the thread. Had not seen the promo you listed. So it it all about Anu. There was a dialog in one of the episodes though, when she was walking away from him... that one day she would chase him.

Hi Ri, ( hope I can call you that)
I agree...I would not just assume that dialogue to be an off the cuff one!! It has to have special meaning even if it could be something that is as simple as a bounden duty not to forsake an old friend..(just one of the assumptions...it could be something deeper)

The thing is sometimes it appears that Prabhakar looks absolutely unaware of the undercurrents when actually indicating the opposite. For instance..when Kk mentioned the media idea... Prabhakar kinda laughed it off but when Kartik made those leading points...one could see the cloud over his expressions, somehow giving the feeling that though Prabhakar was willing to look at the loss of deal in realistic terms (naturally, he was in charge so he is right to assume responsibility for its failure) his expression seemed to suggest that the elasticity of the bond was being tested.

Sorry about my obsession about the Kk Prabhakar bond 😆 😆 but somehow for me it's shadows will encompass the young couple's dynamics. Unless the creases in that older bond are ironed, the creases will manifest and magnify in the other bond.

Ri,
Even I loved the scene where he got Sid to confess. And the grace with which he handle it. I love the actor...he is perfect for the character. 👏

The dialogue about her chasing him...Yes, he said that- That one day he would be so big, she would have to chase after him...just like he chased her the whole day- the day she arrived. He was disappointed she hadn't bothered to connect with him and had in fact ignored him.

Rekh,

I agree about the younger couple. They are charming...but the disconnect is there. I feel it is also because they have grown into these different personalities. Anu was so trusting and followed Sid around like a puppy. She needed his approval all the time...Now she is making her decisions on her own..in spite of the softy type she still she is. And Sid was so calm and carefree back then. It is as if he soaked himself in karela juice for six years and became this bitter guy with a sense of humour.
😆 We had a discussion elsewhere on this...

What I love about Sid is his hairstyle- they have really styled him well...The younger Sid didn't care about fashion much...looks like Sid learned looks are important in these past 6 years. The cool and confident younger persona has evolved into an arrogant, angry young man. I had checked out Namit's web series..and when I compare his look there and Shravan in EDKV...Sid is really this chaalu cheez. 😆

KK and Prabhakar- how can one not be obsessed about them! I'm eagerly waiting for KK- Sidhanth interactions too, though I don't know what to expect.

That discussion on the media house brought out the chemistry between the friends...KK had shooed everyone away and shared a piece of his heart with his friend. Was that intended to be a joke? Only Prabhakar knows. There was this pained expression on KK's face after Prabhakar left...He has truly not shared his real concern with Prabhakar. He did tell his daughter though...Who cheated on them? He doesn't want to burden his friend with that thought probably.

The precap- What would Sid want from KK?
Would he want his father's resignation, since he knows Prabhakar would die of shame and remorse if the Reddys kicked him out...Knowing Sid, I have a feeling he wouldn't mind playing the villain here. Can't imagine what else he would demand.

Yes of course 😃 Hi there.

Maybe it has to do with something KK did but Prabhakar found unacceptable. And regrets looking the other way.

The thing is sometimes it appears that Prabhakar looks absolutely unaware of the undercurrents when actually indicating the opposite. For instance..when Kk mentioned the media idea... I too find KK Prabhakar bond quite intriguing. KK's blind faith in his friend after losing the deal does not sit well. There is something deeper there.

Soup,
The choice of senior actors is really good, particularly the fathers. They actually 'look' like fathers.

The chasing dialog reminded me of EDKV. And Shravan set up a very public humiliation of Suman at the party for his side of hisaab barabar. Sid hopefully is more mature than that.

As for the precap, if Sid asks for his father's resignation, he would get a kick on his royal behind by none other than KK himself. As is, he is on thin ice with his dad on the drug thing. Maybe he would ask for autonomy or Sweetyji to be hired too (going to miss the bonding between the two).

Edkv - misogyny is never mature. I don't think there's much of a decent way to do it. I do feel Sid is better. But there's that fear always... Since he partly save Srikanth for Anu and doesn't have other major issues, I hope we're safe.
I wonder what he'd ask. It's sure going to be something shocking. 😆

Soup, can we continue the Sid - Prabhakar - KK discussion here for the episodes?

I found the the end of the episode interesting, particularly Prabhakar. To begin width, he was reading the Bhagwad Gita and introspecting... analyzing what went on through the day including Kartik's words... wondering if he chose the right path. He belongs to old school of thought... does that work in this day and age?

This seems to have resulted in him deciding to take the next day off. I am confused out the maali seenche sau ghara, ritu aaye phal hoye. Was it about him or Sid? Then the car thing, and Khurana's reminding Sid about his words comparing him with his father. Prabhakar has put in hard work to reach where he is. His son uses shortcuts and bends rules. Apparently materialistically, they are at the same level.

Thoughts?
