i live in germany and never watch indian drame serials.
but ypnhk was ONE serial i used to watch,
and embarass myself in front my whole family 😆

what i liked about this serial was:

-myself being kayasth, i'm interested in knowing about my people and the stereotypes about them( even though they're sometimes negative from brahmins.😉)
-the realistic character sketch: nobodys perfect, nobody knows everything, nobodys entirely evil, nobodys entirely good
-realistic conversations
-lovable people like bittan, chachi ji, abeers mom and of course abeer and leher
- abeer and leher are made for each other: leher is just as wise, as abeer is stupid, abeer is just as brave as leher is coward

but, the writer(s) are spoiling the show for me COMPLETELY!!! 😕

-at th sagaaii when leher is insulted, her uncle doesnt say much .. i mean COME ON!! lehers dad is there, her uncle is there and her brother is there. but they dindt even start a "haathaapaaii" with vajpayee 😕 all they said were some sentences ..
-lehers dad agreed to omi's proposal 😕 without knowing anything about him
-lehers dad went to vajpayee house the next day of the big tamasha without enquiring who's behind the plot 😉
-leher agreed to the marriage😕 abeer at least had the balls to leave his house for the sake of his love and apologize to lehers family. but leher AGREED to the marriage, all though she knows everything and did not even attempt to explain things to her family 😕😕😕 that breaks lehers character for me, coz she doesnt have any character😆 like saying: jo meri qismat ko manzoor hai, wahi mujhe manzoor hai. 😕 stupid girl.

what makes the show interesting is, is all the "jaat baat" things, which seem to be picked out of reality😉 and even dadi ji's character is nice, bcoz she represents something authentic. and dadi ji's dialogues are interesting too, even though they are poisonous😉
but this omi bhaiya shit is not realisitic and spoils the show!🥱

and all the staring competition with people just staring and not saying anything also spoils the show. :(

it's a pity, that such a well made serial (initially)is spoilt bcoz the people responsible have to return to their bollywood-like mimiks. 😕

anyway, i like leher and abeer's acting. abeer talks in a way, which is apropiate to his character. and leher too.

btw, leher is HOT!! 😲

I think just like MR marriage, this track will also come with a reason..at the time we see it as a stretch of why are they doing this but later we know the lesson..
I also dislike this Omi track but I do trust the creatives enough to bring about something good later
and true, the reason why I watched this show initally was because I am a kayastha and was born in lucknow..i as well and wanted to see exactly how well they would portray this.. and they did well, it wasn't someting so extreme, nothing super negative nothing super positive.. all these characters are simple human beings w/ tendencies being pulled to either good/bad side..
I think the entire caste system is more or less a backdrop rather than the main topic..this can happen between any caste systems...
abeer has the young immaturity in him, he has that strong head to achieve something, thats his javani speaking and with timea nd experience he shall gain some wisdom and a good sense of whom to trust and who not to
Leher is like any other girl in love..she is just as powerful as her family's weakest point.. she cannot surpass her family's worth that they've built themselfs to...speaking from a girl's side i can understand what a crossroad she must be at so I cannot really blame her..she's begged and pleaded..she didn't take this sitting down, but there's only so much one can do...
Its up to you, but I personally love this show as its not too much of ekta nautanki-ness... no one dying and coming back to life..nor any seperation and meeting only at death... the creatives here don't tease us with that..its a siimple story being told... sometimes we get so far into the plot that we only wish to see what we would predict, but I think the excitment lies in whats unknown ;)

Veer - Gaurav is also really HOT 😉

i think you might want to see how they are showing your caste but not agree to all of what is been shown, i think it is still very common in our part of the world, ( i am from pakistan) that a girl will do what she is told to do... things are changing and have changed depending on where you are, if you are from a family that has changed, i dont think it is unusual for leher to accept her fathers decision, whatever that decision is, specially after her choice has resulted in such badnaami of the family

i agree with some of the things you said, i mean Kul was angry at the vajpayee house but he didnt speak up, thats the drama part of it, they will have characters speak up according to their plan and thats just the way of it

the reason i will keep watching the show

- abeer and lehers love... yeh pyar na hoga kam
- brij and lehers relationship
- abeer and sudha's relationship
- guddan and bittan's relationship
- till the change in the actress, the relationship between brij and mridula, mridula and the girls was also very nice, i m hoping this ineffective relationship is only bcos the new actress hasnt been able to gel in with them yet, she was brought in at a very high tension moment, think she is my biggest disappointment
- i know society itself will play an important factor in the main relationship, just the way the mohallah is,

off the top of my head and these are based on the story, i really enjoy the actors playing these roles too, so i will let some of the negatives part of the story slide because i like the actors playing the roles, even TN i dont like his character but i think he s a terrific actor, so that will start a whole another list of reasons but i think it can be summarized into a main reason

Gaurav and Yami as Abeer and Leher

Veer, please don't give up yet. Continue watching the show, it will get back to track. Like you I don't watch indian serial but YPNHK has me so hooked that I've actually joined IF and have no life beside continuously checking to see what's new with YPNHK!!😆😆
The old world simplicity will come back, that's the whole point of the setting being Abeer+Leher's mohalla, the families living next door to each other and of course leher being shown as a traditional girl in the 21st century....
Keep watching to see how Abeer+Leher's love progresses, whether the families will ever see eye to eye and of course what other hurdle they need to pass in order to love each other. 😳😊
People all over the world take love for granted, when we see shows like YPNHK we realise that for many love is never a surety even if the boy-girl like each other. The families have the last word so therefore this dazzling emotion becomes something even more precious, a secret that often never comes out in the light of the day.......😊

Veer, I also never followed any serial on TV seriously until I started on YPNHK. Though the earlier simplicity and old world charm is lost to some extent now, I still enjoy it, taking each development as it comes. Please don't stop watching, I am sure the CVs will not disappoint us even though they may wander off the track now and then for TRP sake!😊

After doing a lot of thinking about the characters (what else is there to do on these long weekends???😭), I feel that in spite of all the drama, they did manage to keep the essentials of each character same except for BB Mathur and maybe Leher. I think Mridula's character is suffering because of the change in the actor at a crucial moment; if she had been brought in a bit earlier or later, it may not have been so bad. To me it looks like Leher's new mom did not get a chance to get into the skin of the character because of all the drama that erupted immediately after.😕

BB Mathur took a U turn from daddy cool to daddy fool. This was totally unexpected. Agreed he was in shock and I could understand him up to the point he said Leher must leave town, but agreeing to her marriage with Omi was a definite no-no. I don't see how far the CVs can redeem his character; even if he does a turnaround after Abeer appears on the scene, I still would not be able to forget his lapse!😡

The change in Leher is more understandable, she resisted Abeer in the beginning because she realized the problems they would face, found she could not maintain that stand, confessed, but still was always worried about "koi dekh le toh?" all the time. She caved in under pressure from her family, esp her dear papa, but surely when one has the courage to love, one should also have the courage to stand up for it! I wonder where the Leher of Kali temple disappeared! 😕😭

The rest of the characters have retained their original flavor. TN and Daadi always had their noses in their air about their unche kul and daulat, Sudha was the submissive wife and bahu who did not oppose her hubby and mil but also the doting mom who understood her son. Kulcha always took the offensive with his ego and outlook and chachi, though did not oppose her husband openly, definitely showed her disapproval of his thoughts and doings. Bittan also has remained true to her character; she sees and says things as they are even if her thoughts are immature at times.👏 Abeer also has not changed, he is boyish, believes good of everybody, but once he realizes something is wrong, goes all the way to put things right. He fell hard for Leher and has remained loyal through everything 😍! Even Omi (maybe unnecessary but I only see his comical side😆!) is behaving like the creep he is, backstabbing Abeer, lusting after Leher🤢, and taking advantage of the Mathur situation to get Leher. Deepa has remained a good friend and her mom has also remained what she is - a troublemaker to achieve her ends.

For the sake of the drama, some of these characters went OTT, yet they did not change basically except for BB and to some extent, Leher, so I am going to trust the CVs not to create more damage than necessary. E.g., Abeer with a gun in hand seems out of whack at the moment, but I will just hope that there is a good reason for the gun and that it fits into the order of things even if a bit dramatic!😊

This is my longest post yet.........that is one of the Abher withdrawal symptoms!

Hey veer pls dont stop watching.YPNHK is 1000 times beter than any other show. Some changes have to be made for trp's .what to do at the end producers are investing so much so they have to earn. This is the best show on TV rite now.Gaurav & Yami are the biggest reason to watch this show. They alone r enough to watch this show.Their chemistry is extraordinary .

@ Veer , Don't give up so easily... I Agree that, YPNHK has veered away from its simplicity and charm temporarily, but it has remained true to its plot ( Showing the cast difference between Brahmins and Kayasths ) ... The twists have been introduced just to garner trps... Would surely be back to its original old world charm soon ( I hope so at least ) ...

Gaurav is the most amazing actor who could have ever played the role of Abeer.. You find Yami to be good, Watch the show for the GK/Yami chemistry... You yourself have written some good things about the show.. Watch out the positives...

More than the chemistry of Abeer-Leher, God I love the love they have for one another. Their relationship is a defination of love. On dictionary.com, to put an example of for the word "love" they should have a video of Abher kali pahadi confession scene. The way they were holding hands the morning of the live streaming and the way Leher says I have faith in you that's why I am here. Oh God, can such love really exist or am I just imagining it ??? The only place where I was let down was Leher didnt put resistence for Omi's rishta. The way Abeer fought Omi, the way he left his house/wealth/family, the way he stood up for Leher saying shaadi to hum leher se hi karenge. It was all too good!!! Actually Leher would fight the same way, but I guess they altered her character to bring in drama for TRP's.

Veer, please don't give up. This is among the best programmes we have on Indian TV now and has the BEST cast possible, and the AbHer chemistry is also unique and one-of-its kind. So please give it more time. Cheers!😊
