@Cora, Ayeshu, Wateva and Malka.
I am a lazy bum, so I am replying you all in one post. Nice discussion going on here.
Cora, I dont like Bruce Lee. Always change channel when he comes on...don't know why...never watched any movies of him... But i like kung fu movies, Jet li and Jackie chan are my go to person..I like hollywood action movies as well...diehard,recently jack reacher, etc etc. but my fav are the bollywood action films, Singham, dabang,wanted, holiday, baby, dum...etc etc I eat them all and repeat.
I dont like anything dark...I like sarcasm, wit and humour. The only series i have followed faithfully are Psych, Castle, Friends, Elementary (hvnt finished yet) also teenwolf and now I am crazy for Game of Thrones...though Game of Thrones doesn't fall under my favorite genre, somehow it has gotten under my skin and now can't live without it. You guys won't believe how many times I have watched the latest episode 4 of season 7. More than 50 times...anyways...
I guess i dont like anything dark because, whenever i watch sth I get attached to it...and somehow it affects me..I don't like being sad...i like being intrigued...i like crime and mystery...but no heart break please...I havent watch the Silence of the lambs( I think we hv our original Hannibal here)...but I watched Sangarsh..loosely depicted on it and when Akshay died in the end..my world felt apart.
Never watched Korean dramas or movies, though my lil cousin is die hard fan of anything korean and kind of force watch me some stuff. I watched a korean film once called 'The recipe' and became sick afterwards because i cried so much...and couldn't get over my heart break..(Yea i know i am pathetic...but visual stimulis affect me a lot...i still cry watching Kabhi khushi kabhi gham...heck yesterday i cried watching jab harry met Sejal...I am a mushy fellow.)
Okay now to period dramas,
Pride and prejudice was my text book in standard -7. It holds such a special place in my life and heart I can't explain. I am forever indebted to Jane Austen, she changed my life.I later bought the penguin version of Pride and Prejudice and I kind of memorized it. yea I still have the book and my favourite lines I have highlighted with highlighter. When I went abroad to study I took the book with me and brought it back with me. The book has now become yellow..but i still like to smell it..(don't ask..i know i am crazy)
And about Mr. Darcy. to me he can be only and only and only this guy.

Now you may say, he was never Mr. Darcy. But I dont care. He is my Mr. Darcy, Mr. Thornton, Heathcliffe, Mr. Knightley, every historical romance hero I have ever read. He is perfection. NO one can brood or has a jaw like him.
About the film adaptation, no one could do justice to the book. Colin Firth was too powdery and not hot (after mamma Mia...I can only think of him as gay). About Mathew Macfayden--he was okay but was too unkempt and boyish to be my Mr. Darcy.He couldn't do justice to the role. I actually enjoyed Bride and prejudice because it was so different to P&P. I dont link them, i enjoyed it as a separate story. Martin Henderson was no way even near mr. Darcy. but that was okay. As he was good in his own way.
I love BBC series, specially the 4 episodes ones. I LOVE NORTH AND SOUTH. I have it memorized as well. Emma - my all time favorite...After Richard Armitage, Johnny lee miller is my next favorite historical romance hero.
okay you guys go back to your discussion.
if you guys havn't watched it yet. Please watch North and South. listen and trust my recommendation.
