Physical Comfort Level (Thanks Isa, your post inspired this one)

So far one of the most notable thing was the physical comfort level Aru shared with Mukhi.

And we are not talking about a (supposedly) naive (and in reality dumb) female lead who keeps on getting too close to Male Lead in spite of being supposedly chui mui and then keep on feeling that (again so called) attraction.

The way half the female leads pant in the romantic serials, it can make you worry about their respiratory function.

But coming back to the point, Aru is confident but not stupid. She did felt discomfort when Arjan tired to get too close (That is a sharp man, he changed tactics really fast and done it well too) in initial meetings, before he knew who she was.

But Mukhi is a genteel soul and in some ways, she does look at him as a muchowala uncle. Do not beat me up for this, but his being older without being creepy does make a difference. Also the most interactions which she saw of him were with his sisters, especially Mishri.

He treated Mishri like his child and Aru being closer to her age. It was difficult for both of them to look at other differently. Just a ceremony of marriage done without explicit consent and willingness on both their parts is not going to change it.

That was one of the reasons when Aru never feels too much discomfort in touching him or even giving him his towel or laughing at his "Janghiya comment.

But it will take a few soft and a few weird moments to get the awareness needed to accept each other as a man and a woman.

I agree, she has always seen his interaction with other women(mainly his sisters). This incident might lead her to think about him in a different light. Like I said earlier, she felt embarrassed that he found her in that state which is very very natural. Like you said she didn't react like a silly person and started blaming him or imagining worst of things or come to wrong conclusions. She was still mindful of what might have happened, I loved that she had that confidence on Mukhi which is why she didn't even think he might have taken advantage of her.. which is a very good sign for me😃
I'm kinda sure that she might feel awkward for sometime and Mukhi will notice and understand why she is behaving that way and will clear this up, which might help her to see him as a pure gentle man(which she already does, this incident will boost her respect for him).😊

Great Post cora!
I think this is a an interesting topic because Aru does see mukhi as someone she must respect or look up to, perhaps a guide? her mind is in a completely different sphere as of now, and so far she does not see him as a husband. all the signs of admiration and respect are there but love is not there yet. This is why he can tease him,be close to him without feeling self conscious. When their dynamics change in the future, there will be awkwardness due to new feelings. Mukhi is already there, her proximity already effects him,he likes the idea of having her as his wife but he is holding himself back from letting go because he thinks this relationship has no future.

You are very right and I think in this situation Mukhi will definitely make her comfortable, cos he is not thinking or looking the other way, he is really worried about her well being ( his demag ka batti khula ) So let's see how YMMkD team protrait their face to face interactions, I have faith on our gentleman Mukhiji. Mostly it will be Aru who is going to freak out!!

Respect a key ingredient to a close relationship which sadly, a lot of us have stopped realising.

And sadly the way Indian TV portray women, we start thinking it is high handed of a woman to ask for respect, and I mean even the respect a human deserves from another.

And Mukhi is one of few male leads in recent time on TV which inspire respect.

And the thought that he might have taken advantage never even crossing her mind shows how much she trusts this man's integrity.

We all joked and speculated about the proximity scene but we all wished that he did not do anything which he will not do when she was awake.

Shaheen,

A man who practically raised his sister will understand where her discomfort is coming from too.

I have noticed that the boys who have sisters (and are not brought up to treat them with contempt) are generally much more sensitive to other girls. They are more aware how the girls behave or react.

Mukhi ji is going to raise quite a few expectations in the matter of guys for all the single women here.

Yes, respect. Relationships which begin with respect have always fascinated me. We have so many shows on air now that show guys being too childish, fickle and short sighted..Mukhi is a breath fresh air amongst them. He has that protector aura, intelligence, childlike innocence..which is a deadly combination. I think I'm just too impressed by him this week, I cant stop praising him. 😳

I'm really hoping Aru and Mukhi will explore their feelings at the same time. I don't want to see Mukhi to be heart broken(just my small wish, lets see how things proceed).😊

Lovely Post..
I agree with Cora.. and rest of the comments.. .

I am in love with this Mukhi character..

We can recall shows like -

Bandini
Kuchh to log kahenge

Both had older / young pair but their dynamics were different

None of the male lead was as endearing as this one..

OK, This post was what I was waiting for... Thanks Cora
Just love how they are showcasing Aru's shyness. This is so bang on related to her character. She has never been shown even in Abad given into feelings about boys or looks or even about her marriage.

Remember when Mishri asked her in the car about love and she said yes... she is in love with her dreams.

Her life is so full of her family's problems, that she does not have the luxury of looking into her feelings not pondering about them like other girls her age.

I love that Aru is feeling so awkward to see Mukhiji. This quality is so rare in these days. Even on Indian TV, either the girl is very girly and shy, or she is just bindaas. The ITV heroine would have cried in this situation or got into a huge argument with the hero.

No doubt Aru will shout at Mukhi too, but before that they have given us a glimpse into the heart of this innocent girl who has no idea how to deal with this situation. She is simply mortified, and I'm glad they spent an entire episode on this. And yes, of course Mukhi will guess her plight. What do you think about our Muchowala uncle.

On the other , imagine the similar scene from DDLJ. Well that's what the other shows would have shown !!!!

I think one thing I have felt is that Aru feels safe with Mukhi. I think that's really special and I'm not sure she's ever experienced that before with other men in her life. She's knows she can tell him anything and that he'll hear her out at the very least even if he doesn't agree. Not only that but she knows he cares. So far she thinks it is simply his nature to do so, but hopefully she will realize that it's that and much more..
