365 Sunrises And infinite Sunsets
The first ray of the morning sun peeped in through the curtains and disturbed Naina in her sleep. She moved closer to her living teddy and dug her face deeper in the crook of his neck. The mild perfume that he perhaps had applied the day before soothed her and she fell asleep again. Sameer shifted a bit closer to his doll and encircled her tiny waist in his arms and felt at peace. A smile crept on his face probably indicating that he was dreaming of something beautiful. Naina moved a bit and opened her eyes in slits. The vision was blurry at first. She rubbed her eyes with the back of her hand and looked at the person sleeping so peacefully. Nothing is as infectious as a smile, they say. She moved a bit and sat while carefully moving Sameer's hand from her waist. She caressed his hair and looking at him lovingly. "Naina sone do na." Sameer mumbled in his sleep and pulled her again. "Subah ho gayi hai Sameer. Jaane do mujhe." Naina tried to move his hand again but he wasn't budging. When she felt he had slept again, she slowly moved out of his grip and left for the washroom to get a shower.
After a while, when Naina came out of the washroom and looked at the bed, she couldn't see Sameer there. She looked towards the little balcony that was attached to their bedroom, she could see his silhouette through the translucent curtains. Sliding the glass door behind, she stood next to Sameer and looked at the sun. "We made it till here Naina." Sameer said with eyes welled up with tears. Once in a while, it was their thing to just stand in that balcony of theirs' in not that big but rightly earned flat in Mumbai, and talk of how far they have made. "Mamaji said I was zero. I'm not Naina! I'm not a zero." Sameer looked at Naina and smiled through his tears. Naina kept her hand on his and took a deep breath. "Mamaji ya puri duniya jo bhi samjhti ho Sameer, tum humesha se mere hero the aur rahoge." She said while entwining her hand with his. Sameer closed the distance between them and bent to kiss her but she quickly placed a peck on his cheek and ran away inside. "Jao pehle naha lo. Tumhein set pe bhi jaana hai lekhak mahoday." Naina instructed. Sameer shook his head and went to the washroom.
While Naina was drying her hair and getting ready for the everyday pooja, her eyes fell on the calendar. The date on it brought a big smile on her face. 23rd November 1995. Gosh! It has been a blissful one year of their married life. Yes, they had their part of struggle and they are still constantly trying to get better, that's just human tendency, nothing suffices it but love. While she was still moving her hand lovingly and absent-mindedly, busy in the memories of her wedding day, smiling and giggling and shying away, she heard the bathroom knob to click open. She quickly kept the calendar back, trying to pretend to have forgotten the most important date of their lives. She pretended to dry her hair again while she saw Sameer in the towel through the mirror on the dressing table. Seeing him coming near her, she stood up from the chair.
Sameer neared her and picked up the wedding chain from the dressing table and stood beside her. Filling the gap between them, he stood almost at an inch distance, brushing aside Naina's hair and leaned in to tie the wedding chain around her neck. Few water drop trickled down his hair and travelled down her neck, tickling her a bit which she somehow controlled. After posing as strangers for few months in the beginning, Sameer and Naina have come to the terms that marriage is no joke and they can't pretend any longer. Since then it has been their ritual of Sameer tieing the wedding chain every day with the same promises of happiness and love that he did on their wedding. While trying to get some morning kiss from his wife after their ritual was done, Sameer's eyes also fell on the very same calendar. The date made him smile a little wider. "I have to book the table for dinner!" Naina remembered and quickly got away from Sameer and ran away telling him to join her for the breakfast soon. Sameer chuckled at his crazy wife and went to dress up. He had to also execute the party plan.
Naina was in kitchen making some dough for Sameer's favourite Aloo ke parathe when Sameer hugged her from behind and rested his head on her shoulder. "Kya kar rahe Sameer. Mujhe paratha banane do. Hato." She smiled while saying that. Sameer placed a kiss on her cheek and sat on the kitchen table and looked at her. Naina looked at him. "Kya hua? Aise kyun dekh rahe?" Naina asked while again concentrating on the dough. "Kuch nahi." Sameer said and continued to look at her. Naina shook her head and fried the first paratha and placed it in a plate and gave it to him. "Garam hai. Dhyaan se." She warned very well knowing his habit of getting burnt by it. Somehow, quickly rolling the paratha, he blew over it and placed near her mouth, indicating that he wanted her to have it first. Naina held his hand and took a bite, the rest of it was eaten by Sameer.
"Aaj kuch khaas hai? Tumnein apni favourite shirt pehni hai?" Naina tried to know if Sameer remembered the anniversary. "Haan. Aaj bahut important scene hai. I'll have to write romantic scenes for the lead. Tumnein accha yaad dilaya. Main nikalta hoon." Sameer quickly grabbed the bike key and went away. "Usko toh yaad bhi nahi. Chalo. Kaam mein bhool gaya hoga. Aaj ek romantic dinner se surprise karungi usko. Khush ho jaayega. Bahut kaam hai Naina." She talked to herself and cleaned the table. While on the stairs, Sameer took a sigh of relief. "Accha hua Naina ko yaad nahi. Surprise party ka ab aur maza aayega. Woh kitna khush ho jaayegi." Saying so he went downstairs.

As she heard the retreating steps of her husband, Naina Maheshwari grasped the cordless with the speed of lightning and immediately dialed her soul sister's number. It seemed extremely absurd that she had to call her sister even though the latter lived next door, but keeping in mind her mother in law's eternal dislike for everyone and the grumpy face at the sight of Preeti's family, accompanied by the constant ringing of bell by Preeti's dadi saas, Naina was much more happy and content with a short and peaceful phone call.
Preeti answered the phone exactly four bells later, "Hello kaun?" Naina smiled as she heard the familiar and sweet voice of her sister. "Main na chudail bol rahi hoon. Aapko apne saath le jaana chahti hoon Preeti ji.", Naina spoke with a much heavier voice and her smile widened when she heard Preeti's giggles ringing through the phone. "Bilkul le jaaiye chudail ji. Lekin agar hum dono chale jayenge toh Jijaji ke saath anniversary kaun manayega", she teased playfully. Naina forgot to think of a good comeback, because she was much more interested in the current topic of discussion, "Matlab tujhe yaad tha Preeti" she asked excitedly.
"Aur tujhe laga ki main apni pyaari behen aur sabse favourite Jijaji ki anniversary bhool jaungi." Preeti asked with fake anger. However, Naina just smiled, "Nahi mera woh matlab nahi tha. Actually Sameer kaam mein itna busy rehta hai ki usse toh yaad hi nahi hai. Lekin koi baat nahi. Maine decide kar liya hai ki main na usse romantic dinner surprise dungi." Naina declared excitedly. "Are waah meri behen. Aaj kal bahut romantic ho gayi hai. Ha shayad Jijaji ka asar hai...." Naina blushed at her sister's teasing. She quickly regained her composure the next moment and managed to utter, "Dhatt. Kuch bhi bolti hai tu Preeti. Waise aaj na humne do minute se zyada baat kar li hai." Naina pointed out, and Preeti checked the watch. Two minutes passed so quickly! She checked her surroundings and hurriedly spoke, "Ek kaam kar tu plan decide kar le, phir mujhe call kar diyo. Mujhe abhi jaana padega, warna meri saas bolengi 'iss umar mein zyada phone par baat karogi toh gaal phool jayenge aur jo bill ayega woh alag' aur Shubham ji ke aage bolengi toh woh mujhe phir profit aur loss padhana shuru kar denge. Chal bye"
After she bid a hurried farewell to Preeti, Naina dashed to the kitchen and opened the topmost cabinet, only to reveal a handful of restaurant pamphlets. She flipped through them for a specific name, and smiled widely when she found it. "The Marine Cafe" As she scanned the beautiful blue pamphlet, her gaze fell on the words Share the most romantic experience at the beautiful sea with your beloved. She blushed to her roots and hugged the pamphlet to her chest, simultaneously dancing to the beats of Tujhe Dekha to yeh jaana sanam. "Sameer kitna khush ho jayega na. Bechara waise hi itna kaam karta hai. Aaj ka dinner usse hamesha yaad rahega" she thought happily.
She again grabbed her cordless and carefully dialed the number mentioned on the pamphlet. She spent the next five minutes in arguing with the man on the line about how she needed an urgent reservation for the night, but the man repeatedly refused and apologised, stating that the restaurant was fully reserved. But Naina refused to be disheartened and dialed the other restaurants suitable for couples, but didn't come out successful after all. Some were extremely expensive, some too far and some completely booked. No matter how much she tried not to, she was positively disheartened after the last phone call. Perhaps that was the difference between Mumbai and the small town Ahemdabad. The restaurants were always available in the latter.
On the other hand, Sameer Maheshwari had everything under control. He had reached the set twenty minutes earlier than when he was supposed to, he didn't face any traffic (quiet surprisingly) and he had already planned the surprise party. "Everything is going to be perfect." he mused. Their society's event hall was free for the day, so he could easily organise the surprise party there and invite his friends and neighbours.
He dashed inside the set and greeted everyone with pleasant "Good mornings", after which he dialed his neighbour Raunak's number. Though they had met only some months back, they had gotten quiet close to each other, thanks to the similarities they shared. Raunak wasn't born in Mumbai, he too had a love marriage similar to his own, and he was quiet young just like him. The only difference was that Raunak hadn't arrived in the city of dreams to become an actor. "Hello" Sameer was pulled out of his reverie when ke heard Raunak's voice at the other end. "Hello Raunak main Sameer bol raha hai. Sunn mujhe teri ek help chahiye...." Sameer then went on and explained his plan of a surprise party. He then instructed Raunak to book and give order to the famous caterer who lived two blocks away and arrange for a few party poppers. After he had described the latter's role to him, Sameer concentrated on completing his work earlier than usual, so that he is able to decorate the hall properly.
"Sameer jaldi aao. Hero ko yeh line samajh nahi aa rahi hai" the voice of the director rang through the set. He sighed and went towards the director, only to kick off a few desks in between. As he explained the lines to the hero and oversaw the shooting of the intimate scene, his senses suddenly became too hyperactive of the surroundings. The heroine approached the hero all sensuously in a wet white saree, but it wasn't the same heroine for Sameer anymore. It was Naina, his personal heroine, approaching him in a white saree. Yeh deewani shaam, yeh toofani shaam. Aag barasti hai saawan mein, paani ka hai naam. The song had just started playing in the background of his beautiful daydream, with love cupids surrounding them. Somespecific parts of his body were much more uncomfortable now, since flashes from the fateful night when his innocent wife inquired about the song's meaning, came rushing back to his mind. He recalled those familiar curves and dips, his Naina's moans only accelerating his desire ridden cells.
Unbeknownst to him, Naina Maheshwari was currently setting her almirah half heartedly, disappointment flooding her mind. "Kuch nahi kar paayi Sameer ke liye" she thought. She sighed and placed some neatly folded clothes in the drawer, when her gaze fell on the pink nighty. An automatic blush adored her cheeks as she remembered the fateful night. She literally danced around and seduced her pissed off and desperate husband. Everything was so perfect and ethereal that day. She could never really forget it, but most of all, she remembered the content smile that adored his face the very next morning, the most special of all those passionate moments. "Naina tu aise hi apni anniversary kharaab nahi hone de sakti. Restaurant book nahi ho raha toh kya hua, ghar toh pre booked hai na. Dinner toh ghar par bhi bann sakta, aur romantic usse tu banayegi." She firmly resolved in her mind, and flipped through some newer sarees, only to reveal a transparent and sexy red coloured one. "Ab toh aap gaye Mr. Maheshwari."

A little while later as Naina Maheshwari stood in front of the mirror, the red saree draped around her and her wet hair wrapped in a towel over her head: something felt missing. Like a fragment that constantly pinched her in the back of her head. Frowning she went to the window to breathe in the light evening air. The scent of Mumbai's dusty bustle and the salty wind flowing from the sea shore hit her nose. The past year of their life had been so adventurous, beautiful, and not to mention sensuous, she had not even realised that they had spent one year together.
Things had really changed for them: from school to college to "Krishna Kaustubhi" to sea queen and finally their own "Aashiana". Their life had been turbulent and in this one year of togetherness they had woven a tapestry of emotions: grief, anger, regret, elation, and success. Places changed, circumstances changed but one emotions binded it all together: Love. Pure, warm, serene. Just like she felt in Sameer's embrace.
It was in this reminiscing that she finally put two and two together and realised what had been missing. Their Chachaji had wanted to marry them in July last year but Sameer insisted on Novenber 23rd. While the delay had confused all, because Sameer was far too eager to marry her, the phone call they had shared that night had cleared her doubts.
"Mrs. Maheshwari, kaisi hai aap?" He spoke with warmth as her heartbeats wreaked up a storm at the name.
"Abhi nahi hui hoon. Tumhari wajah se bahut time hai mujhe Mrs. Maheshwari banne mein." She reprimanded him through the phone.
"Naaraz ho? Mujhe toh pata hi nahi tha ki meri honewali biwi itni utawli hai."Sameer spoke into the phone, Naina had known him long enough to blush deeply at the understated huskiness of his voice and intentions behind his words. Mischievous even during a serious conversation: one of the infinite reasons she adored her Sameer the way she did.
"Sameer tumne November ka time kyon rakha? Abhi se tumhara dil bhar gaya hai na mujhse?" She said, her voice small.
"Mera dil tumse kabhi bhar jaye aisa ho nahi sakta madam. Shaadi ke baad mai tumse aise chipkuga ki tum kabhi mujhe dur hi nahi kar paogi apne aap se. Woh Naina date maine shift ki kyunki uss din Nanu aur Nani ki anniversary hai. Nanu toh nahi hai lekin iss date par shaadi karne se kam se kam unka hone ka ehsaas toh rahega mere saath." Sameer spoke. From his tone she could detect the sadness he would always feel deep to his soul. He had lost Nanu far too soon and far too young. And even though he barely spoke about the loss, she could feel its profundity every second she spent with him.
"Yeh toh bahut acha kiya tumne Sameer. Uss din shaadi karne se aisa lagega jaise tum sach mein Nanaji ki parchai ho. Aur asha bhi hogi ki jaise Nanaji aur Naniji ki shaadi itne pyar aur saman ke saath chali waisi humari bhi rahegi." She spoke softly into the phone in her gentlest tone. As they drifted into their usual conversation, she remembered the night in Mount Abu she had found his poem. Sameer was a lot more deeper and sensitive at heart than anyone had thought and 4 years later the depth in his actions still caught her off guard. Him choosing his Nanu's marriage anniversary was an immense gesture towards her: it spoke of his love, the value he had for her love, the respect, and most importantly his faith in their relationship.
As she blinked back into the present, she knew what had been missing all along. Running back to the closet, she got out the little cardboard box she had kept hidden in the lower shelf; behind her sanduk she had rather embarrassingly carried on her trip to Mount Abu. Turning through their little shards of memory like the bottle of anti dandruff shampoo, their pictures from mount abu, the letters he had written to her, the shaadiwala card Sameer had made for her: her hands finally found the soft delicate rust fabric.
Sameer Maheshwari stood in front of their penthouse flat, the entrance bearing the nameplate they both had decided on " Aashiana". One blissful year of marriage and he had forgotten every tear he had ever shed, every lonely night he had encountered, and every sickness he had gotten through alone. Because Naina had been there to wipe his tears and make him laugh with her silly antics. He had wrapped his arms around her petite delectable body and pulled her into him, his nose lingering at the nape of her neck; her warm floral scent soothing him as his breaths teased her. The essence of her driving away loneliness at nights. Her pampering and cooing over him every time he fell sick. God how he wished he would be sick all the time so she would constantly pamper him like a kid. But then that would mean no kissing and touching till he recovered so sickness should be far from him.
He looked up at the dimly lit stark white ceiling as he closed his eyes. Nanu had known it on his death bed: that Naina was his true 'saathi' who would make the rough wavering journey of life a smooth ride for him. He often wondered what would have happened if Nanu hadn't left him. Perhaps that heaviness in his heart of Nanu's loss would never go away but his life with Naina had taught him to cherish his memories. Like the box his wife kept supposedly hidden from him in the lower shelf of her cupboard, he now cherished every memory he had with his Nanu in his heart. He had learned to view their moments together with love and only love; devoid of sadness. Remembering Nanu as he deserved to be remembered: with warmth and respect.
Today of all days he missed him the most. Nanu would have been so happy to see how Naina filled his home and his life with so much love. How she had made a man out of him, made him want to be responsible for her; to give her every luxury in this world. And just how lucky she made him feel every morning when he woke upto her. But at least his nanu died in peace knowing he wasn't alone and that Naina was there to take care of him. He still remembered that tiny pat of his hand on his head as he had uttered that he didn't regret leaving Sameer because he was leaving her with Naina. The roof started to waver as his vision began to blur with salty tears.
Blinking back tears, he took deep breaths in to steady himself before stepping into their home. His shoes clanked heavily on the white marble flooring as he walked past the living room, the guest rooms and to their room where a stunning view awaited him. His Naina stood in front of the mirror, draped in the colour of peaceful winter dawns. His Nani's saree. Tears formed at the edges of his vision as he saw the most beautiful woman in the world for him dressed in the most precious garment to him. Her wet hair cascaded like waterfall down her back, wetting her skin and the emerald coloured blouse. As she turned around, those held back tears dripped like the first rain of the season down his cheeks. Glowing she stood in the stunning rust saree, the fabric blending into her body like churning waves. The warm glow of her skin melted into the soft fabric's embellished bordering.
No bindi, no makeup, no jewellery. She didn't need any. His Naina had never looked more beautiful to him than she did today. His heart choking at the back of his throat, he swiftly leaped across the room and tightly pulled her into him. The fresh floral scent of her newly washed hair clung to him as his hands felt the heat of her body through the thin soft and sequinned fabric. "Naina..tumhe kaise pata chal jata hai meri zarooraton ke baare mein?" He whispered, kissing her shoulder as he hid his face in the crook of her neck. His body trembled against her's, partly from the desire and partly from his sobs.
"Sameer...mujhe nahi pata hoga toh aur kise pata hoga, mere pyare se buddhu se patidev." Naina cooed into his hair, her fingers drawing smooth calming and rather arousing circles on his lower back.
" Tumhi ho meri zindagi ka nagma
tumhi ho mere saanson mein bikhara itra
iss raaton ki ravani dagar mein
ek tumhi ho jo sur sa behta hai meri aatma ki dhadkan mein.
I love you Naina, I love you."
He spoke as he deeply gazed into her midnight eyes. Every emotion spoke to him, every thought resonated his, and in that silence of a few minutes they weaved numerous stories together. Some of grief and loss, and others of love and bliss. Lowering his head, he cupped her soft face in his hands, and captured her lips. Beautiful and sweet, his lips sung a symphony on her's. A deep hum brew in the back of her throat as he kissed her slow and deep. His tongue caressing her's, stroking every inch of her mouth as he stroked her skin to lull her to sleep every night. His love brewed deep and dark in the redness of her cheeks and the panting of her breaths.
"Tum meri jaan ho" they both whispered together, their lips lightly brushing against the other's. The move caused them to laugh together. Sameer intertwined their fingers as he looked at the glow of laughter on her reddened cheeks and bending down rubbed his nose against her's causing another spree of laughter to erupt. Mixed bittersweet emotions, like the khichdi she made for him when he was ill, clouded his heart. Mirth on their lips and tears of loss and love in their eyes. A cross-connected web of intricate emotions that were embroidered to their story like the sequins on the rust coloured saree.
A little while later as they both calmed down from the high of their immense emotions, Sameer and Naina both decided to present the surprise to the other.

"Naina secretary ne aaj building meeting ke liye bulaya hai. Shayad year ending ka kuch dicussions hone wala hai. Tumhe dekhke emotional hoga toh woh bhool he gaya." "Meeting abhi... Sameer... mujhe nahi jaana kissi meeting mein, tum jao..", Naina said sitting on the corner of the bed. Disappointed and annoyed. Her husband had forgotten their special day, she couldn't get a single booking for a romantic dinner and now this meeting. It was supposed to be their special day but it seemed more annoying than any ordinary day.
Sameer didnt know what to do... His whole plan would get spoilt if Naina wouldnt come with him to the building hall... "Naina itne nakhre matt dekhao yaar. Chalo na." "Sameer agar tumhe jaana hai toh tum jao, main ghar par he rahoongi"
What if Sameer doesn't remember their anniversary, she would make it special so that he never forgets it ever in their life. Sameer would be in the meeting and she at home, meaning full opportunity for her to decorate the house and set a perfect romantic environment. Romantic, this word itself caused her insides to wiggle. She also thought of ways of punishing her dear husband for forgetting their anniversary. Exactly one year back when she got married to him, she was a fool to jump on their bed decorated with flowers but tonight too she wanted him to jump only that the style of jumping would be different. Blushing to herself, her eyes held a naughty glint.
"Hello", Sameer waved his hand in front of her, "kahan kho gayi." "Huh? Kahin nahi." "Ab der ho rahi hai chalo", Sameer nagged her again. "Maine kaha na sameer tum jaao, main nahi aaungi." "Aise kaise tum nahi aaogi, sab wahan tumhare intezaar kar rahe hai." "Sab matlab?" "Matlab meeting shuru karne ke liye wait kar rahe hai na. Aur Preeti bhi bol rahi thi ki tumse kuch zaroori baat karni hai. Agar tum meeting keliye rukna nahi chahti toh koi problem nahi kam se kam Preeti se mil lo... woh bhi aa rahi hai meeting ke liye... usse mil lo aur ghar wapas aa jana, meeting main attend kar loonga."
Preeti wanted to meet her but why, probably to wish them... she didnt know so she had to go to check the reason. Anyways Sameer told her that she can return after meeting preeti, meaning she would still get time to prepare.
"Theek hai main aati hoon, tum bahar wait karo mein change kar leti hoon." "Nahi", Sameer said alarmed. "Yahi theek hai." "Sameer yeh saree pehenkar kaise aaungi... tum ruko, do minute lagega main change karleti hoon." "Maine kaha na nahi waise bhi hum bohot late ho chuka hai. Ab jaldi chalo.." "Haan par..." "Naina bus ab koi sawal nahi, bas chalo." He literally dragged her out of the house.
Reaching the building hall, Sameer opened the door for her and followed inside behind her. "Sameer tumne kaha ki yahan meeting hone wala hai, par yahan toh itna andera hai."
It was strange.. there were no lights, no one around but the hall was cool and the AC was running. "Sameer tum sure ho na ki meeting yahin hone wala hai. Sameer?" she called out for him away, but didn't receive any response. She extended her hands and reached out for him but there was sign of him.
"Ahem" she heard a voice amplify around the hall. She didn't need any thought process to recognize the voice, as it belonged to whom she belong. The spotlight flickered on him, and he stood on the stage with a huge grin lighting up his face.
"Khuda ki fursat mein ek pal aaya hoga
Jab usne aap jaise pyaare insaan ko banaya hoga
Na jaane konsi dua qubool huyi hamari,
Jo usne aapko humse milaya hoga"
(Taken from internet)
"Maine kabhi bhaghwan mein vishwas nahi kiya. Na mandir gaya na prathna ki. Lekin ek ladki meri zindagi mein aayi jisne sirf bhaghwan par he nahi balki pyaar mein bhi vishwas dila di."
"Mere berang zindagi ko pyaar ke rango se rang diya aur mere akhelapan ko hamesha hamesha ke liye door kardia."
"Mujhe hamesha yahi lagta tha ki mere naseeb mein pyaar kabhi likha he nahi, lekin main galat tha. Kyuki mere bharson purane zakhamo par meri Naina ne apne pyaar ka marham lagaya..."
"I love you Naina. Main bhaghwan se bas ek he dua maangta hoon ki humara yeh pyaar kabhi na toote"
Her feet bound with the admiration for him started to span the distance across the hall to the stage..to him. When words fall short, eyes take up the power to communicate and at that very moment Naina conveyed all the love she haboured for him through her eyes. Tears of joy spilled out of them, but how could he bear her tears even if it was out of happiness. Decending the stage, slowly he approached her and cupped her face which glowed with the luminosity of the white spotlight. Wiping the tears with his thumb he caressed her face as well as her soul as he said "Happy Anniversary my love".
At that very moment, the lights of the entire hall lit up revealing her family and friends waiting to make the memorable day even more memorable. Naina looked around the hall, Preeti, her jija ji, Raunak, and few of their neighboors stood with a bright smile on her face, but what suprised her most were the 8 people whom she hadn't expected to be here...
"Kyu bhabhi chauk gayi na aap", Munna said as those 8 people came near her. Naina and Sameer bent down to touch the feet of Chacha chachi and Rakesh. Then she proceeded to hug Swati, Kamya and Reva while the three brothers embraced each other reviving their old times. Tum sab yahan?, Naina asked still dazzled with the surprise. "Damad ji ne hum sab ko yahan bhulaya thaki tumko seprise kar sake", chachiji said with a lovely smile on her face. She looked at him who lifted up his collar with pride. "Par jisne yeh sab plan kiya usse toh kuch nahi mile", Sameer said sulking. Naina smiled and spread her fingers over his nape as she went on her toes to kiss his cheek. "I love you Sameer", she said shocking Sameer and causing the others around to avert their eyes away from the young couple. But she didnt stop here, kissing his other cheek she said in the most melodious voice "Happy Anniversary", while Sameer blushed slightly caressing his cheeks still taking in the fact that Naina kissed his cheeks infront of everyone.
Pandit cleared his throat and said, "agar tum dono ka romance khatam ho gaya ho toh cake kat len" "Ek minute cake, Sameer tumne cake order kiya?" Naina asked excited. "Haan aur woh bhi tumhari favourite butterscotch flavour." She smiled and entwined their fingers together as she leaned onto his arms and said "Tum best ho." "Woh toh main jaanta hoon."
The table was arranged and the big rectangular cake was brought onto the table. A knife with a pink ribbon tied on its handle was passed to the couple and they cut the cake together while the guests clapped as loud as they could. Slicing a piece of the cake Sameer fed her first, careful enough to run his finger on the corner of her lips without anyone else noticing it. She too fed him from the same bite and smeared the cream left behind on her fingers on his cheeks. "Naina woh dekho", he said pointing at one corner of the hall and took that opportunity to rub off the cream from his cheek to her cheek. The moment his cheek came in contact with hers, she froze as such a simple act from him could cause her heart to skip a beat even after one year of completing their marriage.
The cake cutting was done and Sameer had ordered the helpers in the hall to cut the cake and distribute it among the guests present at the hall. By this time Naina was getting restless and needed ber own time with her husband, so she held his hands and directed him to the small area behind the stage, away from all the eyes of the guests. Once she knew she had the privacy she wished for, she wrapped her hands around his neck. "Oh ho.. Mrs. Maheshwari aapke irade nek nahi lag rahe." "Bilkul nahi, kyuki jis din main Mrs. Maheshwari banni uss din se maine masoom nirdosh khayalon ko tyaag di.""Naina main..", before he could continue her wet and luscious lips were plastered against his. Nothing mattered to him the moment her lips came in contact with his and he let himself get drowned in her love that she was expressing through the kiss. She sucked on his lower lip, enjoying it slowly and passionately, having no hurry at all. He sought permission to enter her mouth and she gracefully accepted his offer as their tongues brushed against each other, painting their souls with their enternal love and care. While their lips were busy in their own work, their hands traveled across their bodies and the familiar curves that they so very well knew yet yearned to feel again. Naina broke the kiss and hid her face on his chest, feeling his rhythmic heartbeats. "Mujhe laga tum bhool gaye", she spoke breathless. "Matalb tumhe yaad tha", Sameer asked surprised. "Haan bhudu, main aaj ke din kaise bhool sakti hoon. Maine subha se bohot saare resturants ko phone kiya tha romantic dinner book karne keliye par ek bhi booking nahi mila. Accha he hai, warna tumhare plan ke saath clash ho jaata." Looking deep into his eyes she said "yeh mere life ka best surprise hai." "Aur tum meri sabse best gift ho Naina". Before they could link their lips again they heard their friends calling out for them. "Yaar maine sab ko isiliye todhi na bulaya tha ki yeh sab humare romance ke beech aa jaye", Sameer said frustrated. Chuckling at him Naina said, "chalo jaate hai waise bhi poori raat baki hai romance ke liye", Naina said and winked hes eye while Sameer's eyes widened with desire and passion visible only to her.
"Aree party tum dono ki hai, yaad hai na." Preeti remarked as she spotted the love birds. "Naina, hum sab chachte hai ki tum aur jiju dance kare." Preeti said turning towards her sister. "Dance?" Naina questioned. "Haan, sab ke saamne jiju ko kiss kar sakti ho par dance nahi kar sakti kya?", and with that Preeti received a hit on her hand from her beloved sister. "Naina chalo na, agar sab chahte hai toh hum dance karenge", Sameer said and pulled her to the centre and everyone cheered for them.
The starting tune of Pehla Nasha started playing in the background as Sameer held her hand and started twirling her around. Pulling her close to him, he placed his left arm around her waist and held her left hand with his right and swayed with the music. Their eyes never felt each other's as their legs synced to the beat of their own. Slowly and steadily the background started fading and with each passing second the distance between their bodies reduce until they closed their eyes, hugging each other yet not forgetting to add a slight sway to their movements. The round of applause broke their cocoon as they parted and their cheeks resembled ripened tomatoes.
To divert everyone's attention Sameer announced "kh..khana thanda ho jayega, toh dinner kar lete hai." He moved towards the food counter set up pretending to see the arrangements but in real to escape the embarrassment he had caused for himself. God.. what had got into him, he just closed his eyes, hugged Naina and continued to dance infront of everyone completely forgetting about the situation and people around. But he had to blame Naina for this, she was a spell that made him forget himself, so how could the surrounding matter to him.
The dinner went smooth with eveyone praising the taste of the hara bhara kebabs, gobi manchurian, fried rice, naans, shaahi paneer and sweet jelabies. Along with these Sameer and Naina shared a even more delicious dinner eatting in the same plate and feeding each other.
The party finally came to an end with Sameer and Naina thanking the guests for coming and the the guests blessing the couple a lifetime of togetherness. Once the guests left and when only their family remained in the hall, Sameer offered Chacha chachi and Rakesh to stay with them for the night before their train in the morning. "Bhaghwan jhoot na bhulvaye beta, aise beti ke ghar rukna shoba nahi deta." "Chachiji aap mujhe apna beta maanti hai na toh phir kya sharm." "Baat woh nahi hai Sameer", chachaji intervened. "Hum tumhe aapne dil se apna beta maante hai, lekin humari booking hogayi hai hotel main, aur waise bhi aaj toh tum dono ko todhi privacy chahiye hogi na", chacha ji said laughing while Sameer and Naina blushed with the word privacy. "Tum chinta mat karo, hamme bura nahi lagega, hum next time ghar aa jayenge. Abhi hum sab nikalte hai." With that Sameer and Naina bid goodbyes to their friends and family and happily went back to their own Aashiana with a huge smile adorning their faces. Once they were back to their room, Naina asked Sameer to close his eyes, and he like an obedient husband followed his wife and closed his eyes. "Ab apna aakhen khola" she said and he opened his eyes to a big flat object wrapped up in golden cover. Sameer's eyes reflected the shine of the golden wrapper as he excitedly opened the wrap and frooz at the sight infront of him. "Tum chahtete na ki humare ghar mein humari shaadi ka bada sa photo ho, par nanu aur nani ke bina yeh ghar aur humari zindagi adhoore hai, toh maine socha Nanu Nani ki shaadi ka photo aur humari shaadi ka photo ko ek saath frame kar loon. Kaisa laga yeh gift", Naina asked. He caressed the photo frame gently as his vision blurred due to the tears. Keeping the frame on the bed, he pulled Naina in a tight embrace, not even letting air to pass between them.

After hugging her for about 10 minutes he pulled back from her and asked her
“Naina Chalo yeh frame abhi hi bed ke upar lagate hain”
Naina nodded and soon the photo frame was on top of their bed and they were content looking at it.
“Sameer mera gift kha hain”
“Tumhara kaunsa gift, itni badi party di voh kam thi kya?’ said Sameer winking at her
“kya hain preshan mat karo na, mujhe pata hain tum jarur kuch laye hoge mere liye”
“Acha ruko ek min laata hu”
Sameer went towards their wardrobe and pulled out a file from it and gave it to her
“Naina yeh lo”
“what yeh file mera gift hain”said Naina sadly
“are baba khol kr toh dekho”
Naina opened the file reluctantly and was shocked after going through it. she had tears in her eyes after reading it completely
“Sameer yeh kya matlb”
“ha naina tum hmesha se chahti thi na ki voh ghar jo Nanu ka tha voh hamara ho, maine voh finally khreed lia hain aur tumhare naam kr dia hain, kyuki Nanu bhi yehi chahte the ki tum uss ghar ko aur mujhe sambhalo”
Naina did not know what to say. She was really overwhelmed by this gesture of his and leaving the file aside she pulled him for a kiss.
When she was satiated she pulled back from the kiss but Sameer wasn’t going to leave her now.
He took a moment to take her pretty face, and another to let his eyes linger over her sari clad body.
She was stunningly flawless. His hands twitched as his gaze rested on her petite waist; her soft milky skin taunting him; wrapped up in the skimpy material - where his hands should be.
Her long hair was curled slightly, spilling over her chest, as she stood there sexily leaning against the bed rest. Judging by the innocent look on Naina's face, he was sure she had no idea what was going in his brain.
'You know, it's not polite to stare... Sameer'
She breathed out his name in a hoarse whisper; in a way that drove him crazy as she looked up at him hooded eyes - the lust seeping through her longing gaze looking at her husband. She held his tie as she brought a finger to his mouth and sensually traced the outline of them. It was heavenly torture.
'tumhari jaise hot biwi jiski ho uska koi kasoor nahi hain?'
His hands were round her waist in an instant, pushing her to him as she gasped at the feel of his cool, rough hands against her skin - his eyes boring in to hers as he leaned in closer.
He captured her lips finally and drank her in - tasting her slowly; unhurried as she felt the pressure of his tongue against hers. She would never quite get used to the way he kissed her... He would always leave her feeling like a sluggish mess after wreaking havoc upon her sense. His touch, his scent - everything would turn her on in a matter of seconds.
Naina placed a hand on Sameer’s chest, slowly pushing him onto the bed as he continued to work his magic, burying his head in the crook of her neck making her squirm in pleasure - grabbing the back of his hair as she struggled to stay grounded.
Sameer’s excitement was building up to new highs as his thoughts rapidly became shameless in anticipation of his wife's next move.
His hands found their way down to her waist again, pulling at her sari as it unraveled in an instant - his lips never leaving hers as she turned herself in to him. He grabbed her thighs and pulled her on top fully so she was straddling him.
Naina had forgotten that she was supposed to be in charge tonight as she felt the heat pool in the pit of her stomach; her arms around his neck, slowly grinding herself to him as he pushed her further in to his hardness. She broke away from the kiss long enough to breathlessly ask him to get a move on. She couldn't wait much longer.
'Mmmmm….Sameer jldi.’
Sameer smirked at his wife as they hurriedly fought to rip off his stupid amount of layers. First his jacket, then his tie, then his waistcoat and his shirt.
He was about to pull her back in his arms when he heard her shriek
“Sameer”
‘Kya hua Naina’
“yeh kya hain’ she asked running her hand over his chest
‘tumhara aajka last surprise, Happy Anniversary Jaan’ said Sameer placing his hand over her hand on her name that had been inked on his Heart forever now
‘Sameer kitna dard hua hoga’ she said kissing his chest
‘sssh ab pass aao’
It felt like forever to Sameer; pulling her to him. Naina reveled in the feel of his toned stomach, her hand running up and down causing Sameer s mind to reel under the fiery touch of his wife.
Naina removed her hand from his chest and laid it on his thigh, gripping his upper leg tightly. Sameer let out a strangled sort of squeak; her hand was painfully close to his crotch and he was rapidly losing the capacity for any coherent thought processes as she ran the tip of her tongue along his lips. She knew it drove him crazy - and tonight was no different.
His hand went down, gently brushing her wetness causing Naina to throw her head back and moan deliciously as he continued to stroke her expertly.
Sameer was far too gone to wait any longer as he hooked his fingers in the top of her underwear and pulled them down swiftly to her knees. Her hands then travelled down and fumbled with his belt, Sameer’s hands joining her as they struggled to whip it off. He lifted them both up slightly so he could kick off his trousers as Naina's hands worked his boxers off.
No sooner had they gone, Naina was back on top of him as she grabbed him and slowly eased him in to her wetness. Sameer’s eyes shut from the intensity as they both moaned in conjoining pleasure. His hands flew to her hips, clutching them firmly as he thrust in and out of her. Naina matched his movements equally, her hair spilling over them both as she leaned further in to him.
'I love you jaan'
Sameer managed to gasp out his love as she placed both hands on his shoulders and rode him faster. He couldn't believe his wife was not only gorgeous and genuine - but ridiculously fantastic in the sexual department as well.
Naina was unable to speak, resorting to a hoarse moan instead as she felt herself nearing the edge, biting her lip as she threw her head back as Sameer began ramming in to her even faster,
He could feel his stomach tensing as he drew closer. 'Naina' he groaned, as he pushed up into her with more force. The extra force was all it took for both of them to reach the edge as they came together. Sameer felt Naina's body go taut on top of him as her orgasm washed over her. He thrust in to her a few more times as he rode his own out, his hands stroking the length of her shaking thighs.
They stayed like that for a few moments as Sameer took pleasure in the feel of Naina's heaving chest against his, her eyes lingering over his strong jaw as she placed a light kiss at the side of his mouth and over his chest again..
Naina was about to doze off when Sameer who was spooning with her called out to her softly,’Naina suno’
“hmmmm’’ replied Naina drowsily
‘Main soch rha tha kyu na ab hum choti Naina ko bhi ab hamare pass bula le’
“Kya’jerked Naina out of her sleep
“ha lekin tabhi jb tum taiyar ho’ said Sameer
‘main ready hu Sameer lekin mujhe Chota Sameer chahiye’
‘are voh next time, iss bar choti Naina’ winked Sameer
‘hatt besharm’ said Naina pushing him away
‘ab isme kaise besharmi chalo toh start kre’
“kya?’ asked Naina puzzled
“baby making process’
“tum’ and her protest was quietened down by kisses from Sameer
The moon glowing away in the glory of their unmasked companionship and love wishing them with all his heart illuminating the room and revealing the insight of two lovers entwined together for eternity..
