Meant to be - OS
Darkness surrounded the sky, eating the spreaded brightness. clouds thudded with eachother groaning loudly. wind hoozed with scaring sound, suddenly a stroke of lightning flashed through the sky. Heavy clouds moved slowly how his heart too heavy with sorrow. Droplets bounced off the roof eerily crying its heart out, like it also crying for the Maheshwari mansion.
Sameer stood there looking out of the window, hating this atmosphere to his core. He hate rain, which once used to love and play with her, now haunting him with a bitter past. how he wish to go into the past and erase it. He turned to see his love sleeping peacefully for almost six months, lying down motionless without aware of the surrounding. Her body was attatched with several wires which he only knew as hospitalized equipments.
Every cold droplets hitting the surface were radiating the heat inside his heart. Dark clouds were reminding him the day where he almost lost his love and still trying to give the life she wished to her. It all happened during the last day of their college. Sameer & naina sneakily came out of the college leaving their friends, to enjoy their last day of college, making it as a memorable day of their life. Little only they knew life has something else on its path for them. Rain started to pour on the earth & the two love birds roamed freely on the road enjoying every rain drops. Naina splashed the rain droplets on him & he reciprocate it with doing the same, drenching both of them. Their play continued until they heard large sound of thunder. Naina clutched his hand in fear closing her eyes tightly. 'Naina...' sameer wishpered in his husky voice making her turn red top to toe. He inched her slowly closing their gap, she opened her eyes quickly when she felt his breath fanning near her face.
She ran from there crossing the road, when he smiled at her blushing figure. Within a second before both of them could realize, a break failed car on the slippery road hit her, she fell near the lamp post hitting her head on it. His heart ached body shivered, startled seeing her lying on the road with flooding blood. Within a blink of eye everything went out from his hand. pink lips which attracted him just before shivering in hyperventilation. he took naina in his arms, his tears mingled with hers, before she closed the eyes the only name she uttered in this world is 'sameer...'.
She was admitted in hospital, sameer was still in the shock, unable to believe the hard truth, then only his eyes caught his blood stain shirt reminding him, she was in pain. preeti was sitting on the chair chanting hanuman mantras to save her sister, all the others were crying, munna & pandit stood there holding sameer like his pillars. Doctor came outside the operation theatre " sorry we tried our best but she is in coma" . sameer fell thudded on the ground hearing this. "may be after a week or months she'll gain conscious, keep your faith on god". chief doctor said. Everybody stood rooted at their place.
" doctor shall i took her to my home?". sameer asked giving another shock to all. " are you sure Mr.Maheshwari? of course we can treat her in home, keeping her in ventilation, but you want to took care of everything, sometimes change of place also regain her conscious, i'll make arrangement for it". saying that doctor left the place.
" are you mad? how can you took our daugther with you? what will others think about our family?" tai ji shouted at him. Without giving any glances to her sameer straightly went to chachaji. Tears rolled on his cheeks, he pleaded kneeling down infront of chachaji " chacha ji please allow me to take naina with me, please chacha ji i promise you, i'll give your daughter back, please chachi ji atleast you tell him i'll took care of her, she is my life i can't let her face this problem alone, please chachaji let me take her to my home".
Sameer's every word pierced his heart, as a father he only want his daughter's happiness back and he knows sameer can only give that his love only make her alive. he hugged him tightly & caressed his head. "i know beta, no one can look after her like you, iam always with you, do as your wish". he replied with a concern smile. when others opposed his decision he stopped them by further talking and started their arrangements to shift naina to sameer's home opposing the elders of his family, he only want his daughter nothing is important more than that for him. Chachaji along with chachi and preeti also stayed at sameer's house.

His body trembled when he thought about worst past their life, blinking away the tears, forming a weakly smile on his lips he sat near her on his bed. He always dreamt about naina sleeping by his side. he never thought his dream turn as a hurdle for both of them. He spent his most nights holding her hands, caressing it & talking to her with slight hope if she'll wake up & reply to atleast his one question, he never lost his hope. He started to live as her breath and smiled for her lips. He talked with her until late night without knowing when he slept resting his head on crook of her neck. Days passed like this& every passing minutes were looked like year for them.
He sat beside holding her hand " naina do you know what happened today, i was returning from office a boy threw a chewing gum & it fell on the girl's hair, exactly like us, she started to shout at him in the middle of the road but how lucky iam nah you didn't shout at me that day, naina you know i have an idea we're going to marry soon after you woke up, i can't wait for that day please naina open your eyes quickly iwant to tease you i want to fight with you, love you more & more" a long tear escaped from his eyes. ' jija ji...' a muffling voice got his attention back & he quickly wiped off his cheeks. ' ah preeti..come in'. ' jija ji i came here to change naina's clothes'. Noding at her he went outside closing door on his back. Destiny was playing hide & seek in their life, her memories were only giving him strength to make alive his hopes.
The rainy night was getting longer and longer, they all sat for dinner at the dinning table, silence occupied them, his lips remained silent but his heart never failed to screamout with thousand thoughts of her. preeti started to save the dishes on everyones plate. " baghawan jhut na bulaye, naina love this aloo paratha" chachi ji's voice trembled & preeti made her mother quiet seeing sameer somewhere lost surely in her sister's thought.
"blast" a metal sound of something heard on sameer's room & he ran with lots of hope if his naina is woken up from her deep slumber. His all hope vanished into thin air when he saw a vase near by naina's bed fallen due to the wind and she was still closing her eyes. leaning on the wall his eyes welled up " god please give my naina back to me please". Munna & pandit hugged him tightly "why all this happening in my life munna, what did i wrong in my birth that my naina is in this condition now? can't i live peacefully with my naina?" he cried his heartout.
"bhai please don't lose your hope babhi will be fine soon, come there are lot of preparations to do for her birthday" munna dragged him outside looking at their bhabhi with lots of hope in their eyes.
The morning sun arised on the sky giving brightness to their life. The whole room was decorated with her favourite pink colour ribbons, sameer entered the room holding the cake, singing the birthday song along with others. He cut the cake and fed others smiling at her, apart from others days his smile reached his face making it bright, maybe deep in his heart he knows something going to happen that change his life from now. Sitting beside her he held her hand & gently kissed her forehead and placed her hand on his chest, exactly where his heart lies. " evey seconds my heart is beating for you naina, please jaan open your eyes once, i'll never let anything happen to you after that".
Without his acknowledgment pearl like tear fell on her forearm & she started feel his heartbeat. He ran outside unable to control it anymore. A tear drop fell from naina's eyes when she never felt his heartbeat. Preeti saw the slow movement of her fingers & shouted to call her jija ji. Naina slowly opened her eyes, the first person she saw in this world was sameer who madly ran towards her hearing preeti's call. She born second time because of him & his ever lasted love. After the lots of checkups done by doctor, finally he informed ' she was fine'. As sameer promised preparation for their wedding started after one month from now..
Naina was sitting on his bed blushing hardly, to her acknowledgment this was first time for her sitting in his bed as his wife. He sat beside her closing their gap between them, seeing her turning scarlet he gently held her hand & assured her. She slowly kept her head on his shoulder, she glared at him when she felt his strong arm around her waist. " sameer what are you doing?" Sameer looked at her like i-know-you-look.
"shh..no more questions my teacher". he lifted her chin up. "I love you sameer". " I love you too naina" he said giving soft kisses on corner of her lips.
It says no one can separate which has been already decide by destiny. The love which is over coming the hurdles are meant to be forever and always.
