Hi friends.
Felt like making a post on Vishakha after seeing the current episodes.

I don't understand why so many people are professing disappointment at Vishakha due to her snooty & bitch behaviour towards Naina & her family. We have never been shown any previous incidences of her where she has been mingling with people below her social strata. So why are people disappointed if she is a snobbish lady who likes to belittle people belonging to a strata lower than her own.

I guess people have some expectations from her because she is Nanu's daughter. But she has never been showcased as having the good qualities of Nanu.

For me she has always been a pitiful figure. She is so selfish that just to get acceptance from her 2nd family she abandoned her own son. Then why expect any change in her now towards Naina. She who never understood Sameer himself, how she will understand his love for Naina.

Agreed she had softened towards Sam a little bit towards end of Delhi track but that was when Sam had actually started behaving nicely with her family & showing improvements in his school life. He was still very much alone in the Delhi household & only Naina's influence on him calmed down his rebellious streak. So I have never put much stock in her slight behaviour change.

She was always shown to be one who is very conscious of society's judging ways. Hence her bending backwards to please Somani's family. She was & always remain a selfish, tantrum throwing, self indulgent woman to me. She made Sam an orphan even when his mother was alive. If not for Nanu, Naina & MunDit, Sam would have given up on his life a long time ago. These are his real family & even he knows that. He has received unconditional love, trust & support from them. Hence we see his selfless loving side with them.

But Sam still yearns for his family's love hence ends up keeping hope from his mother but she keeps on crushing his hope all the time. Sam is emotional for his loved ones but is very shrewd when it comes to knowing how people are. Hence we have time & again seen him disregarding the need of any acceptance of his love from Mama-Mami. He knows they are fair weather friends though they are always showering him with love & praises. A person who has been denied love , understands when love is genuine. So never bothers about their opinion.

Right now as well he is only tolerating his family's nonsensical behaviour is because he knows how family presence is important for Naina's family. If Naina's family had not been conservative & so society fearing I think Sam would not have given any importance to his own family. This is not due to Naina but because his own family has shown him time & again that they do not consider him as their own. He knows his worth to them is only because he is heir to the Maheshwari's wealth. Hence he uses emotional blackmail to get his work done. So though in general I am against using such tactics but Sam has no other option left if he wants to marry Naina.

Very well analyzed. Your points are spot on..👏

I am one of those who was disappointed with Vishakha. Initially couldn't believe what was happening onscreen.. Thought that writers are bringing in these shades - snob, snootish, very particular abt class cos of the time slot change and to be one up in the TRP game. But, looks like these traits were latent - and now on full display..

As you rightly observed, we have never seen her behaviour outside of Nanu, Sameer and Somani's until now. Even in the Delhi track, whatever softening that we saw was at the very end of the Delhi track when Sam met her and Somani's expectations. If she was really concerned for Sameer, from day one in Delhi she would have taken steps to make him feel at home and would have tried to understand him. But, she made him feel like an outsider..

Infact, Mama and Mami are openly insulting Naina and Agarwals cos V has been overtly and covertly supporting them. It all started with her comparing Sameer's zidd for Naina with cycle in childhood - there she thought that Agarwals will back down. In her zeal to break the alliance, she has been taunting and ridiculing her own child and that is so tragic..💔

Everything he does she ties them to his choice of Naina..If Sam was a major and managing Maheshwari industries, he wouldn't have given two hoots to V, 2Ms and Somani...

If the writers don't show Sameer's entire family as bad people how is it possible for as audience to justify Sameer's yelling and emotional blackmailing of his family. Now that Sameer's entire living family are bunch of snobs, we as audiences are so happy and saying "the entire family, especially Vishakha deserves it. More power to the writers for destroying each and every character so that the leads look good.

I am not only talking about Sameer's famlily, think about Sunaina. Sameer actually used her to make Naina jealous. When Naina found out about the bet, did she forgive Sameer easily? No! Then why should Sunaina forgive Sameer so easily. In real life if a guy does that, I don't think he will be appreciated but Sunaina's character presented to us a such a bully that we as audience have zero sympathy for her and came up with zillion reasons to justify Sameer's actions instead.

Then think about Sharad. Naina was engaged to him to be married. If Naina just broke off the engagement on her own, she would have been the bad person. But since Sharad was shown to be the ultimate pshyco, we are so glad that Naina found strength to break away.

My take is why is it even important to show your lead as perfect people and as ones always wronged? I would have love to see the stories unfold without some of these characters completely destroyed. I was thinking of this show as different and relatable but apparently it is not. At this point I am highly disappointed with the writers of the show.
