This is a very beautiful post. I agree with everything that was said in it.Both are important. All of us need all our relationships in our lives. They play varying roles and allow us to grow in various ways. Sameer needs both Naina and Vishakha in his life. The fact that Vishakha remarried and has a number of issues does not mean she doesn't love Sameer and is not needed in his life. Her way of expressing her love is to push Sameer to do better to achieve more. Sameer needs to be pushed. He seems to believe that if you don't agree with me and agree to what I want then you don't love me. This is immaturity on his part. Parents often have to feed their children bitter medicine, this is love too.
Romantic love also has a place in our lives. Naina provides this. Eventually Naina will also become demanding as her expectations of Sameer increases. In their married life it will not be all smooth sailing. When Sameer doesn't get his way then will he believe that Naina doesn't love him?Unconditional love does not mean agreeing to and giving you everything you want. Sometimes giving you the truth will also be bitter.
Sameer, like all of us, needs his mother, his girlfriend, other friends, and all natural relationships.

This a very tough question to answer mom or girlfriend.
It was very difficult to find second chance in happiness for women in Vishakha's circumstance in her time (widowed with a kid). CVs have not shown to us viewers what she had to go through to achieve that second chance in happiness. Both she and Somani got married for the second time but only Vishakha had to make adjustments. We've seen Sameer yearning for mother's love because the CVs had chosen to show his side of the pain. However, CVs had not shown Vishakha's agonies & inner conflicts and therefore to judge her and call her a horrible mom for me is little premature. Nevertheless, I do think Vishakha loves Sameer. She contacting the principal's exam to rectify the exam situation for Sameer is one of the examples of her love.
Then there are questions on unconditional love. I actually find Naina love is tad bit conditional too. Until Chachaji agreed to their love, she branded her love as mistake. That is one way of putting condition on love she was basically saying if my family doesn't agree it is the end for the road for me. When she came to know about Sameer missing the exam, the first thing she said was how is it going to reflect upon her? I do know Naina loves Sameer I am just saying it is not quite unconditional as some people think.
On that note, I want to say that Vishakha's love is limited by her other family and Naina's by her family & principles. However, both do love him and are important for him in their own unique way. Like Shakile said in the post "Sameer, like all of us, needs his mother, his girlfriend, other friends, and all natural relationships.

True I agree with you coz we rarely see a mom with kid marrying for the second time. She has also gone through her own miseries if losing some one in life.
Two ways I see here
Naina thinks that sameer was not able to write exam because of her and the guilt is eating her. She is saying good things about vishaka that she helped sameer to give supplementary exam. They got best of vishaka.
Vishaka is seeing that her son failed in exam becoz of naina and she thinks naina is not good for sameer. She thinks bad about her.
The human nature is like I got good from you I praise you and I like. I am experiencing bad things bcoz of you so I don't like you.
You r right Vishakha has only seen the worst of Naina. She has come to know that her son almost became a babaji when Naina left him for her family and now she has seen Sameer readily sacrificing his exams to save Naina. Although later was not quite Naina's fault, Viskhaka hasn't had the chance to get to personally know her to get rid of her prejudices.
Like you said, Naina on the other hand saw how Sameer's mom saved his entire college year.
More than good or bad, Vishakha/Naina's perceptions are it is more situational. Both mean it well.
