SCENE 4: In the principal's office, Kamya, Hema, Preeti, Munna, Pandit, Sunaina, Swati are present. They look quite tense and confused.
Principal: Aap log yahin wait karein. Hum aap koh bulayenge.
Principal leaves the room and goes to the music room.
Principal: Toh professor Poonawala aap Sameer kah role nibayenge. JBR tu Kamya aur Hema koh bulao.
JBR leaves and returns with Kamya and Hema.
Principal: Acha Kamya. Tu bata tune Sameer koh kaisa gale lagayi.
Kamya: Kiya Madam.
Principal: Haan, bata tune Sameer koh kaisa gale lagayi. Poonawala Sir, Sameer kah role karenge.
Kamya goes in rather nervously and awkwardly hugs Poonawala. Poonawala is very awkward. Both Principal and JBR look from the window and make a face.
JBR returns with Preeti. She's sent in. She hugs Poonawala a little too enthusiastically. Poonawala has to extricate himself from her grip. Principal and JBR again don't look convinced.
Preeti aside: Jijaji agir kaam aya. Is bahane seh Poonawala koh gale lagane koh milla!
Then Sunaina comes. She too is very awkward and unconvincing. Swati comes and is also not very convincing.
Munna comes dressed in Naina's clothes. Pandit is with him.
Munna: Kiya madam, exam dobara doon?
Principal: "Sample tree exam keh liye. (She laughs and motions him in.)
He goes in, hugs Poonawala in such a way that Poonawala has to put his head on Munna's shoulder.
Both the principal and JBR look at each other and nod. They send all the children away and go back to the Principal's office.
Principal: Toh saach saamne aya uski pehchaan meh. Sach kahoon, toh Sameer koh sazaa dehne bohut takleef dehta hain.
Poonawala: Toh usse supplementary exam dehdo.
Principal: Hmm.
She picks up the phone and calls.
Principal: Hello. Sameer?
Sameer: Jhi, mein Sameer hoon.
Principal: Sameer, mein tera principal bhol rahi hoon.
Sameer: Oh, Namaste Madam.
Principal: Haan, Sameer, tu college aasaktha hain kiya?
Sameer: Jhi Madam, kab aaoon?
Principal: Ekh gante meh aajana.
Sameer: Jhi Madam.
He puts the phone down and starts wondering: Ab Principal madam neh mujhe kyon bulaya?
His mother enters his room.
Vishakha: Ab kiya huwa, itna parishaan kyon hain. Kuch galad kiya tu neh?
Sameer: Nahin, Mummy, meh toh yahan tha. Aap keh aakhon keh saamne. Bahar gaya bhi nahin toh kiya galad kar saktha hoon mein. Gabar nahin kyon, lekin principal madam neh mujhe bulaya hain, ekh gante mein.
Vishakha: Teek hain to ready hojao aur hum jhate college.
Sameer: Mummy aab bhi saat ayenge?
Vishakha: Haan, tera saya ab joh hoon. Chal jaldi kar.
Vishakha leaves and Sameer bangs his head lightly on the wall.
SCENE 5: In the principal's office are Sameer, Vishakha and the principal.
Principal: Aagir mein mujhe maaloom huwa keh tere saat khon music room meh thi.
Sameer: Kiya?
Principal: Haan larkhi neh gud galti kabool khi.
Sameer thinks: Naina neh principal koh bata diya?
Vishakha: Khon thi woh?
Principal: Sorry Vishakhaji Meh aap koh nahin bata sakhti hoon. Izzat kah sawaal hain. Larkhi kah izzat... Aap samaj sakhthe ho nah?
Sameer aside: Thank you.
Principal: Toh mein neh Sameer koh bulaya yeh batane keh liye.
Vishakha: Haan?
Principal: Mein Sameer koh supplementary exam likne doongi.
Vishakha: Acha, woh teek hoga. Uska akha saal waste nahin hoga.
Principal: Lekin mere kohi sharte hain.
Sameer: Kaise sharte ma'm?
Principal: Lo, paro!
She hands him a sheet. He and Vishakha read it.
Sameer: Mujhe yeh sharte manzoor hain.
Vishakha: Sameer tu neh yeh achese para hain? Kateen sharte hain.
Sameer: Kar loonga mummy.
Principal: Acha toh lijiye, is par sign kijiye. Yeh raha timetable aur rules.
Vishakha: Thank you Madam.
Sameer signs the letter.

I, Sameer Maheshwari, hereby agree to write the BCOM Supplementary Examination. I accept all the conditions listed below:
I accept that:
1. I will be moved to a new class;
2. I will not meet with the girl from the music room incident for as long as I am a student of VJN College;
3. I will not conduct myself in any manner that will bring VJN into disrepute;
I further accept that should I score below 80% in the supplementary examination then I will have failed the second year of BCom and will repeat the year.

SCENE 6: In the car, Vishakha and Sameer are talking.
Vishakha: Iss mauka gawa matt dehna Sameer. Aise mauke baar baar nahin ate.
Sameer: Jhi Mummy, Ghoob maan laga kar paroonga.
Vishakha: Woh toh teek hain, lekin woh sharte joh principal neh rakha kitten hain. Karpayega tu?
Sameer: Haan Mummy karoonga.
Vishakha: Tu Naina seh door repayega.
Sameer: meh usko is sharte keh bare meh bataunga woh gud mere seh door rehne koh maan jayegi. Tum dekhna mummy, woh meri bala chati hain. Woh mujse door rahogi. Hum karenge jaise karte the jab mein Delhi meh tha.
Vishakha: Aur 80% kaisa leayega?
Sameer: Kar loonga Mummy. Ekh baat aur, Mummy. Aap mujhe mere tarekha par parne dahenge.
Vishakha: Matlab.
Sameer: Mummy meh music sun ya baja kar parta. Jab sab ghum sum hota toh mein nahin par sakta. Jab hum school meh the toh Naina neh mujhe ekh tarekha bataya parnekah. Ussne grahand ka formula koh song banaya. Mujhe ab bhi woh formaula yaad hain.
Flashback to school where he sings the song Naina taught Swati.
Present:
Sameer: Toh mein aisa hi paroonga aur sab easy yaad rahega mujhe.
Vishakha: Teek hain. Mujhe tuj par barosa hain, Sameer.
Sameer aside: Is baar tumari barosa nahin torungi Mummy.
SCENE 7: Sameer talking to Naina and showing her the College letter. She accepts that they would not meet for as long as they are at VJN. They start writing to each other.
SCENE 8: Sameer is studying whilst playing guitar. Soumani goes to stop Sameer but Vishakha tells him to leave Sameer to study as he sees fit.
SCENE 9: Sameer writing the exams. He asks for working paper and writes the songs on the working paper and then answers the exam questions using the working paper.
SCENE 10: The release of the supplementary exam results. Sameer comes to the principal's office to receive his results. He looks very nervous. There are a few other students also there to get their results. The principal hands out the results by calling the students' names. She gets to Sameer's result. She looks at it, looks at him, then back to the results. Then she hands it to him and shakes her head.
