May!
First of all, I'm terribly sorry for such a late comment! I've been real tied up at the personal front! Read the story today morning!
You know what- I've not been a fan of all the dosti tirade between Sameer n Naina...so much so that I stopped watching the show...I actually resumed from the episode last night with Sameer's outburst!
But then I have to give it to you for expressing the emotions on a topic to which I absolutely cannot relate in the show! Well done!
I really liked Naina's thoughts here- about their future...her reflections on the moments they shared...on the moments they might miss in the future! Her thoughts drifting to how Sameer would look years down the line...would he wear glasses or not...that- that was what was missing in the show...Naina is sacrificing Sameer...she's pained to let go of what would have been hers!
Wonderfully put May!

What do I say, May?! This was by far, one of your best piece of work..this actually moved me to tears.
You brought the much needed introspection of both Naina and Sameer after the proposal of friendship.
Sam accepting the friendship proposal in the show felt bizarre for a moment but here, it was simply perfect. The mention of Nanu and Nani felt right, instantly lighting up my eyes too.
The friend inside her, the Sameer he became with her, their friendship was far more precious. Naina was the only girl, only person who understood the depth behind those shayaris and his companionship with the moon and the shining stars.

This one just stole my heart! ❤️

Thanks for your lovely comment Shreya 😊

So happy to hear that the OS helped to bring out what potentially could have been their thinking behind trying to become friends again. Though it would be quite impossible sticking to being just friends for either of them.

I brought in the mention of Nanu and Nani as that is the only healthy couple relationship that has left a mark on Sameer's mind and he craves for that same love for himself.

I admire your thought process for bringing out clarity to the friendship proposal and acceptance between Sameer and Naina.

It is unusual because it is humane to distance ourselves from someone who has hurt us.There is a prick in your heart whenever you think about them.So when someone breaks up with us we fall into that comfortable zone of distancing ourselves. And I always believed that with time people may outgrow the feelings and then they can be like acquaintances. But it is very rare to be back to be honest friends as there is still care and love in silence, hence platonic friendship is really tough!!!

But after reading through this beautiful piece I realized isn't it better to accept the friendship and cherish the beautiful memories of love rather than having hard feelings for a lifetime.Walking away is not the solution always. Naina was,is and always would be his best friend. She is the only one who could read him well and as the saying goes there is no breakup in friendship😊

Thank you so much for making me understand the depth of the relationship and I loved it lots 🤗

Hi Isha, Thanks so much for your comment dear 😊

I completely understand your perspective about how it's easier to distance yourself from the person you loved/love once the relationship is over. It's extremely hard to watch them moving forward and also what's the point of putting oneself through this torture... Coz true deep love will never turn completely platonic. we are just not wired like that, even if we find love again or someone with whom we try to build a life again, there will always be a part that will cling on to the past and not want to let go of what once mattered so much.

Maybe years later once both partners have created a new life for themselves they might be able to go back to being cordial, but true real platonic friendship still feels far fetched.

Here both are still in love with each other and but they have also been real friends and want to hold on that that aspect of their relationship at least.

Hi Sur, No apology required yaar. I know just how much you have hated this whole dosti thing in the show 😆

Personally, I didn't think it made much sense at this juncture in the story other than open the lines of communication between them. But then one line from Naina's VO captured my imagination. Post a scene where Sharad's mother confronted Sameer in the cafe, the VO remarked about the changes in Sameer since school days and how she would miss seeing all the changes that he would undergo over the years. In my opinion that was the only sensible, sensitive and introspective line that Naina has uttered in last couple of months indicating her love for him. Her pain and loss has not been given any voice and have been downplayed so much that it's been completely lost. We have all been left to imagine it and defend her. Few scenes here and there would have made a huge difference that is if Naina is supposed to be this girl who still deeply loves Sameer.

Thanks for your comment dear!
