I have been wondering why our shows TRP is less? Considering the story line and the "On Screen " chemistry of our leads , dont you all think that it should be way high...at least better than what we have now ?? Let us analyse..

To begin with serial in a commercial world , is a product that needs to sell . Viewers are the customers. Like every product has their set /age /class of buyers, every serial depending on the gener will have their set of viewers. So coming back to our serial , our show's viewers , will be of the age group ranging from 14 to 55 years...and in this the majority will be between 14 to 35 yrs. Now looking at the age group I feel most of them would prefer to watch it on SonyLiv than on TV...They should also know who their veiwers are ...I have always felt that majority of people who watch this show are diehard romantics and people who appreciate art. Many a times we have people analysing the artistic side of story in terms of screen play/symbolism/lighting/ BGM etc...so its important for the CVs to maintain that level of standard and NOT to change the main plot to suit the TRP.

Another point ...I know a lot of people may not like this ...so before I even add this point let me tell you I AM NO SHIPPER. Them not being seen together off screen for award functions , parties etc are creating a lot of negativity. I agree their personal life has nothing to do with onscreen chemistry, but when it comes to promotion of their show , they need to appear together as a TEAM. This is very crucial for any show . People like to see a happy team. And to some extant their request is valid. Because many a times a lot of show has been pulled down or the story line changed as the leads had issues with each other. So if they can appear together as friends or at least as team mates this would add value to their show.

Next is the story line. Initially when the story began there were beautiful moments between Sameer and Naina but post the Delhi track we did not get much of such scenes...especially like the ones during the school days.."mein tumhe pyar se dant dhun, then tumhare aur mere dhardh ek jaisa hain " etc...very lately they have started ...at least in the last couple of episodes we have started getting some scenes where in we get to see the progress of their relationship...but even then we dont get to see just them having a heart to heart talk alone...they are always accompanied by their friends...I thought in college to find that kind of personal time was easy...It is very important in love story to show the progression of a relationship and not to repeat "EYE LOCKS" because after a point in time , it gets boring. This is not like a 3 hour movie , we get to see these people mon - friday...so the picturisation of romance on the screen should have variety and should be able entice people to see more.

Above are some points that I could think of...what do you all think?? do share your thoughts...I am sure there would be people who are from sales teams...if yes , then do share your thoughts on why our serial has less TRP ...and how do we increase it...after all its our show..

Very well summed up! I can rewatch the old conversations between Samaina a thousand times and still want more. Miss them genuinely; especially now when they have so much to discuss and grow together.

What I would also like to see are good conversations between other characters like Chacha-Naina, Sameer-his mom, etc.seen in the past. Usually Chitrahar and friends take all the space these days😆 I love SaMundit, PreeNa bonds but all the time? They need to get back small moments like SaMunDit triple bike ride with that fun background music, Tinde, library romance, etc.

The old episodes have set the standards high for me and my heart is just not letting it go, hoping they will get the old charm back!

On your point about off screen rapport, I agree that promotion is needed. This a love story therefore the popularity of the pair speaks for it. I know things do go overboard on SM but don't they for all other show leads with good chemistry. At gold awards a lot of actors came with their pair only for photo op and then were sitting with their industry friends. At the end of the day it is a TRP game (unfortunately) and what catches the eye of viewers. A platform like awards or IVs are perfect!

All very good points and you have covered a lot already.

One thing I can think is - based on what I have read new viewers commenting on the forum is most of them tend to quickly watch all the old episodes from the very start and then continue the present episodes.

It's almost a prerequisite that viewers connect with the show and the characters from those initial episodes as that's when we all along with Naina fall in love with Sameer and the show. So, new viewers who give the show a try now are less likely to get hooked unless they take the initiative to catch-up on the old episodes. And considering the last few months when even some of the most loyal fans struggled to stay tuned in, we can hardly expect the show to gain a lot of new fans.

And I strongly agree that the cast need to understand that Samaina are the USP and their off-screen chemistry and interactions will go a long way in marketing the show. It is not a matter of right or wrong, just a fact. Most movie leads do joint interviews and promotional events pre-release and just after the realise while the numbers game is on. Considering this is a Daily Soap, the leads will have to keep promoting it every now and then while the show is on air. I am not a shipper, but still seeing a nice funny friendly joint interview makes me enjoy the show more.

Very good analysis!

Honestly, quality of episodes have gone down considerably since Delhi track started. The writing and editing particularly has lost focus. Yes, there are still enjoyable scenes - I liked some things during the judaai, but now most of the time, I don't enjoy watching the full episode, maybe just parts of it. This wasn't the case before. Until the confession, mostly every episode was watchable from beginning to end. Delhi scenes featuring Dadi changed all of that, and nowadays, they are adding dialogues later at dubbing, which is making the viewing experience dull.

On the other hand, i don't think the TRP's reflect how good or bad the content is, as most of the target audience watches this show online it seems. TRP's were consistently 0.5 or 0.6 during the times when the show was at its best in terms of quality and content (Pre-Mount Abu track and after). Initially, when the show started, ratings were decent because we were right after KBC - that helped a lot. But as soon as KBC ended, and Bigg Boss started at the same time slot, ratings went down considerably, even though content was great. TRP's only went back up when shaadi track started, which I think is usually the case anyway with a shaadi track.

I don't know how much of a difference offscreen stuff makes to TRP's, though I am sure people do want to see the Jodi promoting the show together from time to time. I guess they could probably do more of that.

The main thing that annoys me is that the makers, writers, etc don't seem to fully understand that the USP of the show is SamAina and the lighthearted scenes. They completely did away with both of those things with the Delhi track, and also added stuff that the target audience clearly didn't want to see. That was their biggest blunder and cost them a lot of fans right there.

Excellent points!!
@bold: Even though Ashi and RD still act well I miss the intense eyelocks and feel of scenes. That was when these two were not even romantically involved. In fact the phase were they were mad at each other was one of the best in terms of entertainment and chemistry😆
I think it had a lot of do with the past director, he caught the nuances of the scene well and that added a different level to the scenes.

One other reason is that Lots of viewers also get to know about the show when they are watching TV and accidentally see an episode of a show n get hooked on to the show.. that's is highly unlikely with Sony shows cause there is limited repeat telecast of any episode of any show. Over the weekend when working people are free all they play is The Kapil Sharma show back to back from 12-8pm..

Marketing is more important now days.
In gold awards we expected them to be together and give joint IV for promotion of their show.
Every other show leads were doing that.
They didn't even took photos together as all media was there these award functions are nice way promote the show.
Samaina are USP of the show. But it seems something is missing.

There is nothing harm in giving joint IVs and taking photos for promotion of show.

From where does shipping comes here. They should just think promotion of show. As they are USP of the show. For the thinking of few people you are doing no joint IVs that's ridiculous. They should learn to ignore such things and just do their work.

Everyone was promoting their show. But our team they were all scattered.

Even the PH seems less interested I think.

How will people come to know of the show, look at kekta her new show has come and doing nice promotion every time it's promos are coming that's why she is the queen. (no matter I don't like her shows).
But marketing promotion ka jamana hai bhai.

No bashing. I wrote what I felt. I don't want my show to lag behind, I love Samaina.

With all the above points I think the biggest problems were-
1. They didn't do much promotion at the initial stage. We saw one maha episode after a long time and there were very less promo.
2. The time kept changing. Even I missed some episodes because of this kind of attitude. Not eveyone check schedule everyday.
3.They should run the school track more. As it takes time for a publicity of a show. They just ended that in a hurry. I don't know why? They started this college track with nothing big or new and it is looking like now they have no story to tell.
