I can nowhere dig as deep in symbolism as Minu... and I do feel she has covered all the points... However, I do have a tiny bit to add, especially about the desk. 😊
Firstly, the rose -
The most common interpretation of rose gifted / sent by a lover is immortal love or a union that will never fade. Sameer and Naina's love is like that, for eternity, standing strong through the test of times.
If we look at tarot, rose symbolizes balance. Relationships, especially between a couple, is all about balance. When Sameer lost hope from himself, when he was in a deep abyss of loneliness, the rose from Naina came as a balance in his life giving him hopes - hope of new beginning, hope of promises of love.
Now coming to the desk -
The desk shown today was polished to the utmost shine, almost like newly painted, and uncluttered. It symbolizes healthy mental state - a clean and refreshed mind. When Sameer placed the rose on that desk he was crystal clear about what he needed to do. His mind was no longer clouded with the fake drama, fake friendship, or the facade of arrogance. He returned to a refreshing state, where he was ready to act upon something he already sensed was wrong somewhere deep-down in his heart.
Now about the "rose on the desk" -
In Feng Shui, it is suggested to keep something from outdoors on desk to keep yourself connected to reality, to keep yourself grounded, to stay healthy. It could be stones, shells, flowers anything connected to nature. That rose on his desk is going to keep Sameer connected to his promises now, keep him grounded to the fact that he cannot take Naina's love for granted, and also he is finally in a healthy state of mind to start his journey towards becoming Sameer Jaiprakash Maheshwari.
Hope I could add something worthy. 😳

@Ashu Di: After seeing the epi I felt that the one I had mentioned about and Meher Di so beautifully explained are the points CVs have infused into screen.
However delving a little bit more,I stormed my brain to find out if there exists any link between wilted rose and furniture.Which I found, though present very negligibly,in 'Beauty and Beast'.The roses represent love, for starters, which obviously connects to the whole point of this play. In the traditional fairy tale, the wilting of the rose symbolizes Beauty leaving the Beast, making us wonder if their love is going to last or not. Here, it shifts a little bit to be a little more indirect: symbolizing the Beast's chances at love rather than the shared loved between the couple.Roses are also symbols of mystery: opening slowly to reveal their beauty only after you take the time to get to know them. That's in keeping with the whole romance thing, but in this case, the rose has already bloomed and begun to wilt. For Belle, it represents a different sort of mystery: the mystery surrounding the Beast and how he came to be that way. There is a slight mention of 'forbidden rooms' and 'furniture.'Don't know if CVs have thought of 'Beauty and Beast'.But happy that the 'rose' did instigate his right conscience.😳

The Rose here is symbolism of redemption and new beginning. In ancient times, the rose was also dedicated to the Sun and Aurora, goddess of the dawn. One can say that it was a symbol of the renewal of life, and thus the dawn - the first day or the resurrection.Going by the meaning of the 'rose cross' that is sometimes associated with pre-christian and christian ideals: the cross and the rose symbolize the dawn of eternal life and the arrival of the Savior.

I just added the literature version but you did marvel at bringing to the fore what Ashu Di intended to ask and understand..👏Originally posted by: moumita04
