Before commenting on the broader aspects this touched upon... I would like to strictly comment on what struck me while watching the scene...irrespective of what the writer intended to convey thru the scene.
I remembered a confident Naina in the past when her pride and her sense of self was put to the ultimate test... after the bet saga... she then gave a befitting reply to Sameer but today steeped in love, she found it difficult to question Sameer for his irrational response to a very innocent gesture...it's a reminder of what love can do..as someone wrote in a post here sometime back... as much as love liberates it can be controlling too...

It would make little sense to evaluate a young Sam's action when the conditioned response of most is that a woman's freedom must be curtailed so as to "protect" them from lumpen elements...Frankly, if one
reflects deeply on the matter, it would strike many that such a response only tends to increase the sense of gender discrimination we witness around us. One can't limit movement to ensure safe spaces but perhaps it's a debate for another time. Suffice to say that Sameer acted in a manner that showed his immaturity. Let's see where this goes from here...If it was a result of misplaced anger... which it well maybe.. let's see how he realises it..

I liked the episode except a few errors.

Loved the way she was waiting and the sound of his mouth organ and the hawa ka jhoka indicated his arrival. Also loved that this time they held hands during their routine twirl. 😳

Their imagination was sweet and like I had guessed it yesterday, and it was based on DTPH song.

Did Sameer have longer hair in their dreamy sequence? I felt so.

They hardly even spoke and the photo incident came up.

As much as Sameer or M and P can say that boys will look at the girls with different intentions, so his anger is valid, unfortunately that has been our Desi outlook always.

A girl gets eve teased and it is her mistake. Maybe her dressing or her behavior invited this kind of reaction, isn't that what we always hear.

Growing up in the 90s like Naina and Sameer, I have heard this infinite times.

It is very wrong to blame a girl for whatever bad happens to her. If every man looks at a woman only with sexual context, it does not matter how she is dressed or how she gets her photo clicked etc, she will always face these unpleasant situations.

Here too Sameer got angry with Naina when the mistake was made by the boys.

Anyways I liked that they showed this reaction in Sameer which was typical reaction in those days.

Munna and Pandit also understood why he got angry and this was also very natural.

I have a request to the makers - please don't waste water. I did not like that the taps in the school were open and water was just flowing. Water scarcity is real. Please conserve water.

Regarding this time line confusion:

According to the first episode it is Feb 1990 and Naina is in grade 11

Now it is May 20 1991 and they are still in grade 11? How?

Don't kids have vacation during May in India? When do these kids have exams and vacation?

Does their one academic year run for two years?

Pooja's marriage was around Jan 1991

Feb they had cricket match and March Farewell party. Nanaji also died in March

It is May now. So has it been 2 months since Sameer moved to Delhi?

These glaring loop holes in Time lines is very irritating for a viewer like me when I try to find continuity in the story. 😕

PS: Is Swathi's last name Pandit too?

Episode was ok. The reunion scene ..was well done as a stand alone scene. I think today Sam's reaction was age appropriate. Mundit too understood. But Preeti and Swati did not. It was kind of gender issue. But here is the problem...the inconsistency in the story...earlier after bet revelation, Sam was given such heavy dialogue. At the Agarwal house, I felt he wa acting more matured than a 17 year old. Yes he had to win over Naina and so he digested all the insults of Rakesh and his suputra. But still compare that matured Sam to today's Sam...I felt today Sam's tantrums were liek a teenager, a male teenager.

As for Naina...I think we have had numerous discussions how she needs jolts to mature. NO..I don't think faling in exam or being berated by Sam today will do that. This story is based on Shashi Sumeet's life. And as per them, it was Shashi who had proposed. The current Naina is nowhere near that point of maturity.

Vishakha is really stunted in her thought process.. Ajeeb aurat hai..jab Sam tha, tab she got juice only for Rohan. Aur aaj she brought juice for missing Sam. Yesterday she did not even think how Sam will know the way to the school...and pre cap she is worried how Sam will be ...Is aurat ki samajh ko samajhte samajhte main khud samjhna bhool jaungi. 😆 Chalo kam se kam she is getting new sarees.

CVs...Rohan ko kuch dialogues milenge ki nahin ya phir woh Keshav aam ke saath saath sare dialogue bhi kha lega? And Deepik ais missing...pata nahin..may be busy drawing...

And most important...timeline...all messed up...someone please send the bloopers to CVs...this is now becoming ridiculous. Naina goes to school , gets, her result and is still in school...and itne mein Sam goes to airport, flies, again goes from airport to school...😆

And please CVS..riots dikhana tha to proper research karte...Rajiv Gandhi was not PM when he was killed in 1991. There were no riots.

They could have just shown riots due to some other cause...it is not difficult to find a cause for riot in India...CVs should watch movies...they could have shown communal riots, political riots...kept it fictional...they are trying to make it real and messing it all up...

I am very disappointed with this show at present. The loopholes and bloopers are so glaring now...

First thing first, I can understand from where Sam is coming and he reacted as per his char trait and peculiar thinking of a teenager.Boys know how and what other boys talk about girls.

When I was 17, my sister was 15. I used to always warn her not to be seen on terrace, though other girls of our area used to be on their respective terraces and I knew what other boys discuss abt those girls. My sister used to be always confused.

Seriously that pose was not a decent one. Sam could imagine tapori boys making comments on Naina's heroine wala pose. Also most of the photographers use it as an advertisement on their walls, which Naina type girls don't know, who go there once in a blue moon, that maybe another reason for Sam's anger. This possessive Sam wants to protect her girl from every evil eye and from the cruelty of real world which innocent girl don't know actually exists.

Second one is Sam, the possessive loverboy, who can't see his lady love in such pose is clicked by any random guy. He thinks that one was private pose and only he should watch it, not even a photographer.

I guess, the emotional torture at Delhi is making Sam more angry, he is not in a position to pause and think. Maybe that's why he went back in anger!

Hope,Ms.Chipko aka Amrita doesn't use this misunderstanding thing for her own benefit to go close to Sam and hiding letters from Naina. If this happens toh samajh lena someone from CV team is badly ill-treated by Delhi ppl, remember Kauwa Biryani type...Aisa hi kuchh hua hoga jiska badla woh Dilli ke saare logon ko Bura bata ke le rahe hain.

Liked Samaina scenes very much today, aesthetically shot and very good sense of creativity.

I wish kuchh to dialogues hotey. Naina asking abt his udaasi as per his letter and reason for hair cut then maybe he would have told everything about KeDi and his condition in mad house.

But the type of jhatka we were expecting, Naina didn't get that shock of her life, don't know when she will get reality check, if not this one toh isse bada aur kya?

@rose...Like the VO had said, whatever changes made in me bcoz of shaant parchhai of Naina, that were going backward with double speed, hence we can't compare this Sam with earlier one who had started behaving maturely.

@ canopoem...timeline ka Funda to ande ke funde se bhi hai.I once tried to figure out when they explicitly mentioned May 1991 Delhi but then again they messed up by calling it anniversary. Maybe they have parallel timelines in diagonal universes that switch one after the other.
