I loved his voice actually in yesterday's episode. That shrill shreek of the 17yr old crying was perfect for me also. Yes, like you said the voices are still changing.

Oh, the sons-in-law don't give shoulder 😲 Maybe in the Marwari community ? In ours, they do.

I don't think it is the property issue. He has never wanted Vishaka and Sameer to bond. He has brought the rifts in their relationship numerous times. So, his concern will be looked upon with suspicion. Even Sameer will see it that way if he knows that Somani suggested it.

You have compared the VOs really well. 👏

Not just marwari nivi...Most north indian communities...

You know randeep is pretty young as an actor...He's still in the learning phase...And the fact that randeep in reality has a very deep voice...And the fact that he tries to bring out shrill shreak thing makes me wonder how much hardwork he has put in as sameer...U really need to get in depth of the character to cover such nuances...

I feel sameer at present is too numb to even realize wats happening with him...Around with him...The fact that the VO was used to portray the fact that sameer found his ultimate consolation in naina is testimony that 17 yr old sameer is not in his senses...Otherwise he would've never left ahemdabad in the first place...
I'm not trusting somani...Thats for sure...

Regarding the VO...Just read on Twitter wat kind of contrast the VO portrays with respect to the relationship sameer shared with naina and his mom...The fact that in the darkest time of his life he seeked naina for solace and not his mother sheds light on the fact how naina as his as his life partner... Hus strength..His support and his comfort

To be very frank, I didn't have courage to see the entire epi. My TV was on but I was distracting myself with other stuff on purpose. May be a little bit of me wanted nanu Naina scene, may be I didn't want nanu to leave just like Sam.

So I really don't know how much I can contribute to the epi discussion.

I had a doubt about the VO though. Sam's VO said he wished Naina was nearby but that seemed definitely like afterthought many years later... Coz that moment I don't think he would have thought about Naina..I don't blame him at all for that.

@writers on Twitter- have had bad experience with these ph team coming online and interacting with fans. Pehle pehle they are all goody good but later they start getting irritated with fan's demands and a fight ensues. I was glad all these days the creative team doesn't give in to excessive fan demands. Hope things don't get sore.

Sorry for quoting myself.. But my posts always gets stuck on the last page.😆

Vandy- lovely points about the VO... Naina's vo wanting to hug him and his still maintaining that respect and him remembering naina n not his mom in toughest of times.

Somani- I'm just taking as things come. They hyped but dadi's entry so much but bichari ko kuch role hi nahi Mila.

Lastly .. Like I was saying in the LU... randeep did a fabulous job of whatever I managed to see. He has come a long way as an actor. Well deserved break for him.

Lovely post...
The epi once again belonged to randeep hands down... He has been doing a fantastic job epi after epi...
Few days back I had read a few posts complaining about his voice modulation and how he needs to work on it... Yesterday's epi made me realise he actually doesn't need to do that...He's portraying a 17 yr old in the show...And the guy is doing a fab job... Not just the physical transformation... Its the voice thing he has worked on... I donno... I actually noticed my 16 yr old nephew and realised how well randeep has looked into this aspect... Their voices are still.changing undergoing that transformation... Hence that a little bit thing in randeeps voice...Hats off to him...

I was pretty disappointed by not seeing vishakha and somani in the same frame as sameer...Or somani not giving a shoulder to nanu during his last journey...But it was my mom who pointed out that son in laws do not do that...She was pretty impressed with the way the whole last right thing was executed on tv...Hats off to the CVS for keeping it as realistic as possible including ppl going barefoot to the crematorium...

Coming to the VO...What struck me was the way both wanted each other's presence...Sameer was still respecting the boundaries they had in between hence "uske paas baith kar"...Whereas naina was ready to break those boundaries when it came to giving the ultimate support to sameer ...Hence that "gale laga kar"..,
I'm looking forward to see how this whole thing plays in future epis...

And regarding somani being interested in nanu's property right now...I feel he will not pose a problem for sam taking over...He will be more than happy to keep sam away from a share in his property...So as long as his assets are safe...Property is not wat he's looking for...

Did not know that Son in laws dont give kandha...nor did I know people go barefoot to the crematorium... (no matter the distance from home?)

Things one learns from this show!!

@ blue - beautiful.

Not having Vishaka and Somani in the same frame as Sameer was a bit bizarre and what was worse was we could clearly see the body doubles.

Today is the last day we see Kiran ji in the show 😭

Wonderful post Nivi.
Unfortunately I am yet to watch last 4-5 episodes!!!

But I have enjoyed reading your take on it, and also everyone else's...

Hopefully I get to watch the episodes this week and catch up.

Somani - Good or Bad? is the question of the week isn't it?

I think he is just a grey shade character. He is not so good towards only Sameer, may be because of some misunderstanding or Sameer's previous behaviors, or just because he is a step-son. Lets see...

Nivi... first of all hats off to ou for making a post today...didn't expect. 🤗
Everyone has written almost everything, so not much left... honestly I avoid watching funerals on TV but today I did. And I will start by saying hats off Randeep! 👏👏 And ably supported by Sanjay-Raghav. 👏 I;m very impressed by the improvement I see in Randdep since the Mt. Abu episode... he struck the perfect chord today...he was distraught trying in vain to revive Nanu by any means he can... finally literally throwing himself on Nanu... he made the viewer feel what it was like when your entire world collapsed within a matter of hours.

Mundit... Such lovely friends... they were standing right behind him... a testimony to their importance could be seen today when not a single person even thought about asking them to go sit. In fact Somani himself called out to them when they had to remove the body... Sameer is atleast blessed with the friends he has made in his life...🤗 In fact no one had the courage to even come near him, including his mother... shows how distant their relationship has become.

But I do feel both Vishaka and Somani are starting to see a very different Sameer now... and not just due to the death... first the doctor, then the conversations with Nanu in the hospital... and then his monologue with Nanu today... how he talked about Nanu's two dreams for him... marriage and business... I now hope they are start to understand that there was more to Sameer now and he and Nanu have had some serous conversations regarding the future... not something they would've expected from an immature 17 year old...

The VOs one after the other... so beautiful, as if they are sitting with each other talking about that day... they are both reminiscing about this day many years later in their VOs... and how compelling it is that at this point in future Sameer was wishing Naina had been there back then... shows how in all these intervening years Naina had become his emotional support, his rock, his Sathi that now he wishes she had been with him on that dreadful day...

And Naina wishing she was there as well, so she could've hugged him? Well, that simply shows who must've become braver in their relationship...also the life long regret she carries of not being there of him on that day...also it showed how much Sameer still respected Naina...he would not do anything that she didn't want...

That final walk for Sameer was also a final walk down memory lane with Nanu... I think a path he was taking for the last time... today along with Nanu that carefree Sameer Maheshwari was also burnt in the pyre. And those shots they showed... Nanu doing Aarti like a mother... nanu dancing with him and Mundit like a friend... Nanu advising him like a father... finally the last day where he fed him jalebi, hugged and kissed him like a Nanu... and it froze! That Sameer is lost to time now...Because from this moment he was Sameer Jaiprakash Maheswari... Nanu's son... all other roles ceased to exist fro this point forward.

This also made me wonder it was the reason we didn't get any male VO initially... for Naina it was love at first sight, so she remembers every minute detail of that carefree Sameer... but for Sameer himself he probably never revisited those days, his most precious memories with his Nanu... he must've buried them deep in his heart... the male narration started only in Mt. Abu because that was one thing he regretted most in his life... and a big turning point in him... just a thought!

I must also confess, even though I was not fully engaged in the village scenes, towards the end I realized that those scenes did bring a goofy grin on my face... so CVs did pick out the right balance, and they cleverly used it to address some critical issues too... Naina smiling big when chachi said they will leave in a day, one could also see her imagining seeing Sameer again... poor girl, is going to be another mess.

I suspect both are going to drift aimlessly for a bit... when something like this happens to one partner the other loses their anchor as well... After Mt. Abu it was Naina and we saw how SAmeer drifted too, all his attempts at sorry, then himself fainting... .. and only her breakdown sort of gave him an anchor to latch on and take responsibility... so I think we will witness something big again and this time Naina may take charge and slowly start helping Sameer...

So, lets hang on to our seat belts, we are in for a few tough episodes (just like after Mt. Abu)... and since Mundit are devastated as well, we will have to rely on the Agarwal family and the two kids in Delhi to provide us with doses of humor...

Wonderful post Nivi. Havent watched the epi yet dreading to see Sam's breakdown but want to see Randeep's acting. He truly has come a long way. Sameer will need sometime to come out of this grief. Hope Rohan & escpecially Deepika will help him in that. I personally thibk that Somani is grey but not an out and out villian types. He dislikes Sameer for whatever reason and hence his behaviour towards sam is bad. As Zulu said i hope he is not plotting scheming types. That would be too much for our show. I dont think he is interested in nanus property, he is a wealthy guy himself. I think he will create no issues for sam being sole heir to nanus property. At present his wanting to take sameer to delhi might be seeing sams condition and maybe he dosent want vishaka to stay in ahmedabad. I want to give him a benifit of doubt for now. Lets see how it turns out. I hope separation is not for long, we have leap and sam returns to ahmd and samaina unite soon.

The way Sameer hugged Nanu's body... it was heart tugging. The desperate attempt of an young lad to hold on to the most beloved person in his life.. his friend, guru, mom, brother! Brilliant acting by Randeep.

Yes, Vishakha not coming to Sameer and consoling was jarring. Esp after the recent promise she made to Nanu. Were they not shooting at the same time? Was Randeep shooting this after he came back from holiday? Munna Pandit were very good in their support roles. The VO as usual fantastic, although I doubt at that time Sameer was thinking about Naina. This must be much later.

I think Somani decided to take Sameer along to Delhi because of his distraught condition. One can't leave behind a person in such condition and a change of place does help. I don't think there is any ulterior motive of Somani.

PS. Wonderful post Nivi. Got so swayed by the episode

I am noot having much hope from Vishakha.Precap showed Somani concerned about Sameer & Vishakha was ready to leave her son behind or what. She is very wek woman .How come she is Nanu's daughter.Anyways Somani was always keen on taking Sameer with him.I hope they show Somani in better light.Rohan & His Sisiter are sure to be Sameers new support system. But I am not having much hope from Vishakha specially with a Dadi who is bold & dominating.
