Nivi... first of all hats off to ou for making a post today...didn't expect. 🤗Everyone has written almost everything, so not much left... honestly I avoid watching funerals on TV but today I did. And I will start by saying hats off Randeep! 👏👏 And ably supported by Sanjay-Raghav. 👏 I;m very impressed by the improvement I see in Randdep since the Mt. Abu episode... he struck the perfect chord today...he was distraught trying in vain to revive Nanu by any means he can... finally literally throwing himself on Nanu... he made the viewer feel what it was like when your entire world collapsed within a matter of hours.
Mundit... Such lovely friends... they were standing right behind him... a testimony to their importance could be seen today when not a single person even thought about asking them to go sit. In fact Somani himself called out to them when they had to remove the body... Sameer is atleast blessed with the friends he has made in his life...🤗 In fact no one had the courage to even come near him, including his mother... shows how distant their relationship has become.
But I do feel both Vishaka and Somani are starting to see a very different Sameer now... and not just due to the death... first the doctor, then the conversations with Nanu in the hospital... and then his monologue with Nanu today... how he talked about Nanu's two dreams for him... marriage and business... I now hope they are start to understand that there was more to Sameer now and he and Nanu have had some serous conversations regarding the future... not something they would've expected from an immature 17 year old...
The VOs one after the other... so beautiful, as if they are sitting with each other talking about that day... they are both reminiscing about this day many years later in their VOs... and how compelling it is that at this point in future Sameer was wishing Naina had been there back then... shows how in all these intervening years Naina had become his emotional support, his rock, his Sathi that now he wishes she had been with him on that dreadful day...
And Naina wishing she was there as well, so she could've hugged him? Well, that simply shows who must've become braver in their relationship...also the life long regret she carries of not being there of him on that day...also it showed how much Sameer still respected Naina...he would not do anything that she didn't want...
That final walk for Sameer was also a final walk down memory lane with Nanu... I think a path he was taking for the last time... today along with Nanu that carefree Sameer Maheshwari was also burnt in the pyre. And those shots they showed... Nanu doing Aarti like a mother... nanu dancing with him and Mundit like a friend... Nanu advising him like a father... finally the last day where he fed him jalebi, hugged and kissed him like a Nanu... and it froze! That Sameer is lost to time now...Because from this moment he was Sameer Jaiprakash Maheswari... Nanu's son... all other roles ceased to exist fro this point forward.
This also made me wonder it was the reason we didn't get any male VO initially... for Naina it was love at first sight, so she remembers every minute detail of that carefree Sameer... but for Sameer himself he probably never revisited those days, his most precious memories with his Nanu... he must've buried them deep in his heart... the male narration started only in Mt. Abu because that was one thing he regretted most in his life... and a big turning point in him... just a thought!
I must also confess, even though I was not fully engaged in the village scenes, towards the end I realized that those scenes did bring a goofy grin on my face... so CVs did pick out the right balance, and they cleverly used it to address some critical issues too... Naina smiling big when chachi said they will leave in a day, one could also see her imagining seeing Sameer again... poor girl, is going to be another mess.
I suspect both are going to drift aimlessly for a bit... when something like this happens to one partner the other loses their anchor as well... After Mt. Abu it was Naina and we saw how SAmeer drifted too, all his attempts at sorry, then himself fainting... .. and only her breakdown sort of gave him an anchor to latch on and take responsibility... so I think we will witness something big again and this time Naina may take charge and slowly start helping Sameer...
So, lets hang on to our seat belts, we are in for a few tough episodes (just like after Mt. Abu)... and since Mundit are devastated as well, we will have to rely on the Agarwal family and the two kids in Delhi to provide us with doses of humor...
