Responsibilities & Support - Sameer-Naina's new chapter (Part 2)
Part 1 is what I wrote for confession. If you wanna read, then
here it is. When they confessed, I felt a circle completed and a new chapter unfolded. Now, the chapter has unfolded to an extent, that we know what is coming up for us - or atleast what I can foresee..
Looking back at Sameer's VOs, when Sameer-Naina got back:
"Jis pedh ki jadein jitni zyada pheli hoti hai, woh pedh utna hi zyada mazboot hota hai. Theek ussi tarah rishtein bhi hote hai, parivaaron ke beech mein bharosa ho toh do logon ke beech ka rishta bhi mazboot rehta hai. Aur rishton ko mazboot karne ke liye unhe mehnat se seechna padta hai, toofano se bachana padta hai. Maine aur Naina ne abhi toh bas pyaar ka ek paudha hi boya tha, abhi toh bas pehli hi parikhsha thi pyaar ki, jise humne kisi tarah par kar liya tha. Par woh toh bas shuruat thi, pata nai tha ki aane wale toofano mein yeh pauda bacha reh payega ya nahi. Iska jawab toh bas waqt ke paas tha."
"Phone ki tar kat gayi thi uss din, par mere aur Naina ke dilon ki tar wapas jud gayi thi. Par yeh ek naye safar ki shurat thi, manzil nai thi. Kyunki abhi toh aur bhi padhav baaki the, ishq ke aur bhi imtehaan baaki the"
"Uss din zindagi mukkammal si lag rahi thi.. complete! Bhai jaise dost the, Nanaji mujhse khush the, Naina meri zindagi mein aa chuki thi. Sab kuch itna achha, itna perfect tha.. lekin mein yeh bhool gaya tha ki.. kuch bhi, kabhi bhi, itna perfect rehta nai hai"
Takeaways: They had only planted a small plant of their love, it is yet to grow and become a tree. Now, in this chapter, the tree will start growing. It is the next 'padhav' of their journey together. Overcoming Nanu passing away and taking up responsibilites is next 'imtehaan' for Sameer and Naina - and judaai is part of it too.
I love how creatives always completed a loop they started. I won't be lying if I say, I didn't want a Naina-Nanu scene. If not a lil more school scenes, a Naina-Nanu scene was always in my list post confession. Sameer had promised Nanu whenever that special person comes into his life, he will make him meet first and Nanu also always said he will be alive till he sees his marriage. But, life doesnt happen that way. And Nanu passing away at this moment of their lives says just that.
I wrote on twitter on Thur that I have to give CVs for doing this now. Probably the most loved bonds in the show, ending it when Sameer-Naina had just embraced each other (his legacy lives on forever through Sameer-Naina & the actions they take). That's how we know they are keeping it real. It could have happened a lil later too but CVs do it now, tells us how things dont work out in sequences and my feeling of wanting that one scene was gone (okay 5% remains *hides*). And Friday, Sameer's VO said what I just wrote:
"Humein yeh khush fehmi rehti hai ki zindagi humare hisaab se chalti hai, lekin insaan ki aankhein chaha kar bhi itna door nai dekh pati ki zindagi ki sachhai ko samajh sake. Uss pal ke liye toh mere doston ne mujhe kandha de diya, sambhal liya tha mujhe. Par mujhe nahi pata tha ki, mere haath se control chhoot raha tha. Main Nanaji ke paas waqt par pahunch kar bhi shayad late hogaya tha."
On the other hand, Naina-Sameer-Nanu were connected strongly. I thought of this parallel too and someone on twitter made a collage out of it as well. Life has weird-lovely ways to connect people. Has happened to me too and for such things, I never get an answer, why and how. It just is the way it is. Whenever Nanu needed someone, one or the other was always with him. Ah! I love CVs for parallels in this show!
Nanu's last scenes with Sameer and his final scene with Vishakha and Sameer indicates a lot of things for us. They say when someone can sense their end time, they start giving hints. Have happened to many am sure and with me as well.
Nanu mentioning how he took care of Sameer so far like a mother so that Vishakha's new life with new family goes smoothly for her. Him asking to make a promise to take care of Sameer not only as a mother but as Nanu too. I never found her evil or bad, she was stuck in her ways of pleasing her family imo, because looking at Somani, he looks like someone who can manipulate people emotionally. So, Vishakha is one of those who didn't get a chance to speak up under Somani + its 90s + male dominance thing in families is common back then compared to now. Like Sameer had said to her post MtAbu track, "Mujhe pata nahi ki mein apko kabhi apna side samjha paunga ki nahi, par maine kabhi aapka side samajhne ki bhi koshish nahi ki aur anjane mein aapko kai baar dukh pahunchaya. Uske liye, I am sorry." This right here says a lot! I feel with taking Sameer to Delhi, Vishakha (maybe Somani a lil) will realise how Sameer has changed (once he is out of initial shock) and how he handles things. I got this feeling when doctor gave back to Somani when he said Sameer is irresponsible for not informing us on time. She will try to fulfill the promise she gave to her father of taking care of Sameer but maybe, she is unable to do so under her mother-in-law and Somani. And this may also be a chance for Sameer to get a backstory about her mother's behaviour towards him as well. I feel we will get some hints for sure. Small mention about Naina's VO on her mother here. I feel from her side we may get some hints too since she was mentioned too.
Keeping all this in mind, I feel the main thought of this Delhi track is just this, to show us lil bit of Somani family dynamics and Vishakha to realise her responsibilities towards Sameer and Sameer to get a backstory. It's unfortunate, Nanu has to remind her this, but its the reality.
Sameer Jaiprakash Maheshwari
"Muskurah! Aur yeh aansoon bhi achhe nai lagte. Vishakha, iski muskurahat sabse zyada keemti hai."
All of Nanu's last words were for Sameer. He meant the world to Nanu. His saree scene with him, and now him mentioning about taking up responsibilities and be a son of Jaiprakash Maheshwari. This is what is about to happen. We all know Sumeet sir took over his Nanaji's business at 17 itself and I think it will happen with Sameer too. He is almost 18 in the show now anyway, if that's what is in the will of Nanu. This is one aspect of Sumeet sir's life which defines him and how Shashi mam supported him through thick & thin in this journey. Which is why we see it in the show too. Now, we will see Naina going out of her way to support Sameer, she will be that pillar of strength to Sameer while he has no one around. Naina will be the one, to bring back old Sameer (not 100%, when such things happen, a part of us is lost and it will be same with Sameer, but he will learn to cope with this and be back!). We may have lost a smiling Sameer Maheshwari, but he will be back as a smiling Sameer Jaiprakash Maheshwari.
Naina, Munna, Pandit - Growing up early, along with Sameer!
Post marriage what is going to happen after confession we had no clue, but CVs had already planned it. So Naina & Sameer's lines mean a lot then.
Naina during cricket match said, "Tumhe chhod ke chale jaun? Aaisa toh kabhi nai ho sakta" and her mentioning to Sameer, "Sameer, mujhe jitni Arjun bhaiyya ki chinta hai, utni tumhari bhi hai. Jitna mahatva woh mere liye rakhte hai, utna tum bhi rakhte ho" A very important scene, which had to be voiced out to Sameer for him to realise there's someone who cares for him too. Sameer always needs assurances from time to time, because of lack of love he has received from his mother. Now, I feel Naina will give him a lot of emotional love and support which will make their love even more stronger. She will go out of her way to take care of him. We should see her getting lil bold to support Sameer I think. Our show isn't for showing typical romance always, it keeps it real. I'd prefer portraying emotional love and growth of a relationship anyday over typical romance in other shows. Yes, we will get that too as they age overtime, but it will be weaved with emotional love and I feel it's gonna be a treat to watch. All organic and natural. Just like how Naina held his arms at Shefali's house. That's exactly how things progress in a relationship. It was so natural that I love it to bits.
Munna-Pandit are two people which will stick with Sameer throughout his lifetime no matter what happens. And so they grow-up early with Sameer too, as they support him. Best part of them is that they aren't in the show just for comic relief. They are strong supportive characters. Without them, Sameer is nothing. They were with him when he placed the bet, with him to question if he has started to fall in love, with him to say sorry to Naina, with him taking all insults of Rakesh, with him when things went overboard and asking him to choose friendship over love, and with him while he went through the biggest shock of his life and so they will be with him as he starts taking responsibilities too.
Judaai - Somani family dynamics
Now, I am not sure if Judaai + Nanu passing away together was a good decision or not by the CVs, but I will trust them with this. It's like getting over 2 things at once types. Keeping in mind what all I just wrote, I feel Sameer will be back in Ahemdabad pretty soon and there won't be any major leap. Our show is such that it naturally lends itself to leap at SOME point, but not now. I feel once he is out of initial shock, he will contact Naina-Munna-Pandit and things will progress very soon. And going by the news of Step-dadi being a (not negative, but grey, YUD keeps it real and in reality there no negative ppl) catalyst, I feel she will be that one reason which will make sure he returns sooner than later, other than him wanting to come to Naina asap. She might be like Taiji of Somanis to Sameer, like Taiji is to Naina. Sameer may bond with Rohan and Deepika during this time. They look positive characters to me, Deepika ofcourse she is lil kid will bring laughter to Sameer while the way Rohan has been described in the show so far, he seems like a decent guy. (Recently a video came our of him saying lines for YUD, I am sure it gave a lot of people some comfort. I dont get why a video was needed to understand this but yeah there we go, some proof for y'all). And Love triangle is out of the question in our show. I dont know why people are even worrying about this at all. Like seriously guys? As far as, Preeti angle is concerned it will only happen when Rohan is in Ahemdabad, which isn't the case at all for now. He may come to Ahemdabad later and things may progress then but this ain't the priority so chill! I feel Somanis are cameo for now and later they may come back into the show when needed and the time is right. Like I was saying, now showing Delhi is only to give us a feel of Somani family dynamics with Sameer before he returns back to Ahemdabad. It's pretty clear, Somani doesn't take Sameer as his son, as indicated by Nanu as well. So I don't expect much from the elders of that family.
To me, Sameer's family are: Naina, Munna, Pandit, Vishakha, and you can also add Agarwals in the future. They already are imo. And the late, Nanu. (Siblings may bond very well, lets see how this unfolds).
Special mention for the episode of holding hands. So much thought went into it by the CVs, gosh! Sameer, from holding her hands without her permission, to now, his hesitance, of doing the same, without her permission and giving her space and respect was lovely to watch. Other than that, the way it happened was pretty symbolic. Naina fell into mud because of Rakesh (what I loved was he wasn't shown explicitly), and Sameer pulling her out of mud, as in he will pull her out of all the mess in her life. And the held was pretty strong by him. Him recalling, that first time I couldnt take her out of mud, but this time he went ahead and pulled her out. And that time, keeping in mind Judaai track was coming up, as VO mentioned that he wanted to assure her that he has held her hand for life. So, he is coming back to Naina pretty soon.
And keeping all this in mind, I feel Sameer will be back in 1-2months (super short leap - 8-10 episodes) and resume schooling in Ahemdabad. So, dating in school will happen too! So yay for those missing out school stuff now! Dont worry! If not, it will be still shown as gradual leap and not sudden leap for sure.
So, now the journey will be, Sameer studying + taking up responsibilities while Naina supports him along with Munna and Pandit. And while all this happens, organically, their love will blossom and grow and the 'paudha of love' they planted will grow exponentially during this phase. First, Sameer transformed during bet phase + realisation phase. With heartbreak, Naina transformed. Now with this phase, both will transform (or I will say grow + mature) together. During heartbreak, even though Naina had not forgiven him, Sameer stood by Naina, solving problems and mending the broken trust and heart. Now in this phase, it will be the opposite. Naina will stand by him, as he takes over this new phase in his life. I think I mentioned in my Part 1-confession of this post that, I feel they will equally support each other, and this is exactly what is going to happen now.
----
Edit on March 13:
Another hint on support:
"Phir nahi tootega hum pe koi toofan,
Saajna.. Dekhna..
Har toofan ka main karoongi saamna,
Bas ek zara, saath ho tera"
Another hint on short Delhi track: Munna-Pandit voicing it in their dialogues. Also Somani saying it.
----
And this phase may gradually (or suddenly, I feel gradual as its their journey they are showing) convert to a leap later on and then next thing maybe them grown up, be of or near marriage age (21/20) and that will be another track of convincing families, things coming out to them, supporting each other etc etc. But thats very far away, so I will stop blabbering right here!
My main point for this post was to clear a lot of assumptions the fandom is having and to clearly lay out what has happened so far and what may happen based on them. I hope this helps to those in confusion of any sort. Now, if I read the indications by CVs wrongly, then well, my bad. Hope am right for the most part. I am very excited for this track! There's beauty in emotional love growth, and Naina-Sameer's love is so pure and deep, it will be a treat to watch how they grow with each other by their side. Cheers!
