Back to pour my heart out on one of the best confessions I have seen onscreen! Another best is still from YUD, Mount Abu one, come on! Sorry for writing such a long post. I felt the need to write whatever I could. It's been a while I wrote on Naina and Sameer's emotions!
I wrote Part 2 - Responsibilities & Support recently, its
here! Wrote it after Nanu's demise. Since we know a lot of things about what's in store for us!
Their VOs together!! The highlight!
"..mera bas chalta na, toh mein uss chocolate ad ki deewani ki tarah nachte hue field mein utar jaati aur Sameer se milti.. Milna toh tha hi Sameer se.. Milkar kuch khaas kehne ka waqt jo aagaya tha"
"Un dino ki baat ho, ya aaj ki, yeh teen magical words sunna, har ladke ko achha lagta hai, bas aajkal khullam khulla keh diya jaata hai, aur un dinon, humein chori chori kehna hota tha, par chori mein bhi toh maaza tha, intezaar ka bhi toh ek apna maaza hota hai"
I have been waiting for this since forever. Wanting to hear both their VOs on same stuff post confession. To start off with confession itself is cherry on top.. I heard it and I diiieed right then.
Though Naina is shy and has her sanskaars, her VO clearly tells us how badly she wanted to tell Sameer those 3 words, which he was yearning to hear for so long and how her emotions were riding high too, as in that ad (which I immediately recalled as Naina's VO mentioned it), the girl runs on field dancing with happiness and hugs her guy! But Naina being Naina, will still hold back.
Then Sameer's VO, tells us how badly he's been wanting to hear those 3 words. As VO was being played, Sameer hiding from Naina and slowly coming in front of her, brought tears of happiness in my eyes. "Intezaar ka bhi toh ek apna maaza hota hai" - The wait was finally over for both of them. As they collided again, tears literally gushed down my cheeks. It felt like what started is finally complete. On twitter, I wrote for Monday's episode that these two looked absolutly ethereal in love when Naina came to pacify Sameer. And I say the same for today. Their eyes convey what no touch could have expressed. They are glowing in love like no other. Passion, intensity, yearning to be with each other, Naina's nervousness, their happiness, the utmost love.. and what not.. you could see everything in their eyes.
I will never understand why I love these 2 characters so much. Maybe because so many things are so relatable with the era, my family dynamics, and these characters being flawed and the moments they have shared are real. Am glad to have not watched spoiler video in advance, VO just created that magic as confession unfolded.
I talk of no touch, yet these 2 wanted to be with each other more than they ever have. While Sameer expressed it quite clearly, Naina didn't but her eyes did. When Sameer tried holding her hands first time.. she didnt move at all, until she got shy and scared. Her body language expresses that she too wants to be with him but she is scared. Yes, she trusts Sameer completely, but her sanskaars are stopping her. What if something happens? Before marriage its not right, right? So many Qs going in her mind. I get her completely, I have had some crazy thoughts while growing up when I had 'half baked knowledge' and was yet learning. We all have. Still, she knows she can be herself in front of Sameer and Sameer is aware of that too, that he brings her a lot of comfort and that she can be her under his presence. And vice versa.
As she ran towards the window to hold those bars, her breathing hard showed her raging emotions so well. Her eyes looking out for Sameer, so that she can say those 3 magical words. And Sameer clearly knew she is waiting for him. As he enveloped her, for me, I felt as if he is saying, "Am here! You can ease now, you can be you now, you can let go now, you can say what you want to say now, am going nowhere.. am here!" It also portrayed how close they want to be with each other. With him coming closer and her allowing that intimacy and closeness.
There can be other interpretations of this scene with caging and all as I read here on IF, but for me it symbolized this!
I love the contrast of the confession. Reminded me of hospital breakdown episode, when Naina said, "Yeh sirf shabd nai hote, dil sau baar dhadakta hai isse bolne se pehle" - Those heartbeats in the background were never so prominent in the past episodes than today, they depicted that so beautifully as the confession happened. As she uttered those 3 words, one by one, her dil dhadka sau baar between every single word! While for Sameer, he was impatient to hear those 3 words and say those 3 words back to her. Though impatient, he first sunk it in, then made sure he went near her ears, but uttered them at one go! As impatient Sameer was for her Naina to confess, Naina was too, to hear it back. Because when she confessed last time, her world turned upside down, something she didnt think of in her wildest dreams. This time, Sameer being so quick and so near her, made her flutter like no other, which made her look at him, only to be reassured and finding him looking at her with all the love she deserves. Absolutely love the transtion from her ears to his mouth, back to ears to her eyes! It was as if she was taking it all in, trying to sink in, that "You know what Naina, this is real and not a dream".
And before her emotions took over her, being so close to her guy, she ran! I felt so happy, seeing these two enjoy their confession. They were enjoying and celebrating, the fact that, finally everything has been sorted.. and celebrating "Them". Sameer yearning to hold her was so beautifully portrayed. Naina is no less, she is such a tease. She knows what he wants, yet is not fully ready to give in. Though the way her emotions are raging and the way they are being portrayed, she is gonna give in real soon! After Mission I love you, its Mission Haath Pakdo for Sameer! I adore the CVs, for not rushing for ILU, or for their first touch or hug to happen. It will all happen at their own pace, with these two ready for it at that time!
Completing the heart is so symbolic. I read on twitter, someone mentioning (sorry can't find the link now under so many tweets), that it shows how they started separate/opposite (starting to draw the heart from middle), went through phases - bet & heartbreak (drawing the curves) and now are finally coming together (as they finished the heart). Sameer completing the heart was again symbolic of the fact that, what was started by Naina, he completed it finally. Some are also saying how its symbolic of the future, that Sameer will always be there for her and complete her, but I dont know, I feel they will equally complete each other. For me it was symbolic of the circle that got completed today, which was started by Naina.
Though, the episode felt complete, it also conveyed that now that this is complete, its time for their journey to move ahead now. Sameer's VO again brought tears to my eyes. He assured of the whole complete thing I was feeling right from the time they collided again.
"Uss din zindagi mukkammal si lag rahi thi.. complete! Bhai jaise dost the, Nanaji mujhse khush the, Naina meri zindagi mein aa chuki thi. Sab kuch itna achha, itna perfect tha.. lekin mein yeh bhool gaya tha ki.. kuch bhi, kabhi bhi, itna perfect rehta nai hai"
Precap: Oh my my! So unexpected! Before any major thing happens in their life, we will get to witness all their "firsts". Can't wait!! Night suit + night phone calls + school uniform + Sameer's bike! Oye hoye! We are back! (((Edit: Have updated this post with link to part 2 on top and bottom, written after Nanu's demise. Since we know a lot of things about what's in store for us! Doesn't mean firsts wont happen, they will still happen but slightly differently now)))
Also, I wanted "Nazar milne se shuru hoti thi" verse to be played when they collided again, how it all started but but its okay I didnt mind Aapke aajane se at all. Wish they played title track instead of Mein solah baras ki, it went with the playfulness and conveying their emotions with those specific lyrics but still it was their special moment, I felt title track woul fit better. I wish they played title track often.
Reading updates on entry of Rohan, etc. I can't wait for Sameer's family dynamics to be explored. Its high time. I always wanted it and kept saying that post confession, its time for Naina to see Sameer's side and understand him. She knows he is alone, but she hasn't gotten a chance to dive deep inside him because of her own heartbreak. Whereas, Sameer has, while being with her family. Ofcourse he got the family and love he always yearned for, but it also brought him closer to Naina as he now understands her inside out.
PS: KUDOS to Randeep & Ashi for portraying Sameer & Naina so so so beautifully. They are really the best thing that happened to TV industry I swear! Their chemistry is just magic onscreen. They have nailed the whole acting with their eyes thing! Only few do that and am glad they are one of the few! And boy, they grow with each episode! I rarely watch soaps, but its going to be hard for me to like any other show, like I love YUD. They surely are one of the reasons!
I wrote part 2 "Responsibilities & Support", its
