Heartbreaking. Shattering.

I couldnt stop crying the whole way through, wishing till the last second for Nanu to recover.
I just... I still cant get over it. the scene was written so beautifully and every single actor in that room did full justice to this emotional episode. we knew it was coming, but we refused to believe it (me especially), everything was so realistic, the dialogues the expressions and nanus last words

The man was an angel, and this is what is so beautiful about this show, each character makes their own place in our hearts
couldnt fault anything, the scene broke my heart but it was the most perfect final scene I have ever seen on tv.

my family and I watched this together and the whole room was so quiet, eery no one spoke a word but u could tell that everyone was wishing that it wasnt true

kiran Sir thankyou for protraying Nanu perfectly, you werent just Sameers nanu, you were our nanu. and we'll all miss you ... 😭 😭

What a tearjerker episode!

Nanu's words were so strong. And even when in his last breath, he did not forget Naina. Yesterday and today's episodes were well executed. The death scenes in soap world are usually OTT. But today i felt I am watching a desi show from the 90s when content used to be meaningful and acting used to be natural. I have memoery of only one movie of Kiran Sir as hero. Aaj Ki Taza khabar. It came on DD channel ages back. I had enjoyed it. It was comedy. But Kiran Sir never made it as lead in HIndi films. So he turned to negative roles which he always played so well. I am so thankful to the CVs for keeping Nanu's character so good from start to finish. 👏

Aate jate raste mein
woh yaadein chor jata hai...

Nanu ki yaadein humesha hum viewers mein zinda rahegi.

Coming to the scene, I liked Somani today. I think he was really genuine. He did keep his hand on Sam's shoulder. I hope it is not a loophole to be forgetten in future just like so many them have been forgotten. I hope it means Somani will try to be good to Sam. In the past Somani did want to take Sam to Delhi. Probably Somani is not that bad. We don't know how he speaks to Rohan and Deepika yet. May be he is like that with all kids...Let's see...

Vishakha.. I liked her acting. But sorry I don't feel anything for her now. She abandoned her own son to make her own life comfortable...How can she be called a good mother? Well she promised lot of things to Nanu. May be she will take care of Sam and get close to him in the process neglecting others And that negative daadi will be furious with her...and so Sam may leave Delhi...

Mundit...gems...❤️

Village scenes...I found them stupid today.

We are feeling so emotional jsut by watching Nanu's death on screen. Can you all imagine what Sumeet Mittal must have gone through in real life? HE lsot his mother, then his grandfather and then Chachiji...no wonder Shashi Mittal has been a rock for him and her family has always been there for him. 😭

Randeep should consider himself very lucky for getting this role. And he has not let Shashi Sumeet down. The remarkable improvement in his acting skills is an indication he will go very far...👏

And now to all the behenas of the thread...cheer up

Kahan tak yeh maan ko andhere chalenge
Udasi bhare din kabhi to dhalenge
Kabhi sukh kabhi dukh
yehi zindagi hai
yeh pathjhar ka mausam ghari do ghari hai
Naye phool kal phir dagar mein khilenge
udasi bhare din kabhi to dhalenge😊

Rose, lovely songs. Thanks for trying to cheer up all of us. I am too furious today.

Nanu believed in his grandson's innocence but will never what had transpired. So many things unresolved, its all annoying me at the moment.

What true to life depiction in the show are we talking about? Was Sumeet slapped by Shashi's dad so many times? Was he a 'naukar' is Shashi's house? Did he have a mean step dad? So much fiction has been added to the original love story for drama. Then why couldnt Nanu be alive? If nanu is paralyzed or in coma or on extended bed rest Sam would still have to step up and handle the business. Then there is hope of his recovery and it has more positive vibes.

Anyway I have spoken enough about it.

Somani confused me today. I saw him consoling, smirking and empathizing. If he had not been shown to call the princi about the key, instigated Vishaka repeatedly, created distance between mother and son, I would have thought he was a grey character. I remember how he made an excuse so Vishaka had to leave with him during the cricket match in the head boy selection phase. Have the CVs forgotten all that?

This is one aspect of Mittal's life that could have been easily skipped in the show. As CVs, I am sure you could find many ways to move the story forward and show character progression but you took the easy way out. What a bunch of sadistic morons! I had to actually see it to believe that Nanu is no more!

So true Nandy.

Why should a story always take a regressive track for the growth of a character.

Should Sameer be bullied, verbally abused, slapped, trashed, burnt to become a responsible person?

Should Nanaji be killed for Sameer to build a relationship with his mother and if possible other members of the family?

Infact 90s television shows used to be very progressive. Most of them say that it was Ekta Kapoor who ruined the Television industry. Maybe true.

I remember watching shows during 90s which were not only progressive but had so much depth and content in them.

If Sameer had to move to Delhi, then story writers could have come up with so many creative ideas for him to move.

Jayaprakashji is a very respected industrialist in Ahmedabad who is also an active member in school boards to encourage education.
The Govt could have sent him as India's representative to UN (New York or Europe) for girl child educational development. He could have been appointed as a Rajya Sabha member or an adviser to the Govt.

In these cases Nanaji might have had second thoughts of going as Sameer would have to move to Delhi and Sameer could have convinced him to go and assured him that he will try his best to build a relationship with his mother and others.

Atleast Sameer will have someone to fall back on and lean on, if his attempts failed.

Now Sameer has no option at all. And he has to undergo another round of bullying, abusing, slapping etc etc to prove his worth.
And really is it worthy to go through all this? Was the regressive way the only way the creative team could come up with?

Is there no production house in the country who can take it up as a challenge and not come up with regressive shows?

Nivi 🤗 somehow knew that Sameer Jayprakash Maheshwari would be the title of your post ..
What a hard hitting, realistic episode..made so very poignant with the last minute conversations between Nanu-Sameer, Nanu and Vishakha.. It broke my heart to see Sameer lose a part of his life..

Nanu being his everything gave him a purpose.. and no matter what happens Sameer will live upto his Nanu's expectations.. Before this episode had so many misgivings/doubts about Sameer in Delhi.. but not now..just like Sameer's stay at Agarwaal's was to bring back Naina's smile, faith/belief in him, his stay in Delhi - he will learn and also put his learnings to use..

I though have one regret and do not know if it is appropriate to voice it now 😕 Nanu knew how emotionally shattered S was with Vishakha's attitude/behaviour .. remember how he shared that his mother would call him only twice and no one was there when he fell sick.. being looked after was a new feeling..Wish Nanu spelt out the reasons.. maybe atleast after he saw how Sam had changed after the bet incident.. he was no longer angry, bitter.. Guess writers left it out so that it gives them a chance to explore Vishakha and Sam's relationship now... Certain things - there is no point in explaining.. has to be experience, felt..

All the actors in yesterday's epi - dedicated to Nanu ⭐️👏

The makers could have kept it simple and effective like Hrishikesh Mukherjee movies. But they chose to go full fledged Bolly masala movie of 80s.

The separation could have happened without sending Naina to village and without killing Nanu. Nanu gets attack. Sameer takes him to Delhi. Naina would never have objected. Plus Nanu could have blessed Naina too.

Or my paper stealing truth theory was far better. I had said Sam would feel sad...sort of abhiman because Naina hid the truth. Sam goes away to Delhi. Naina depressed. Nanu, Mundit plan. Nanu pretends to be sick. Sam comes back...when I talked about this theory except a few, noone wanted the paper truth out. My suggestion was simple Hrishikesh Mukherjee types...but...
Also, Nanu could have passed away after Samaina marriage.

Someone pointed out yesterday CVs have changed...well the new CVs better be careful...making this show sadistic will not work.
I am simply tired of screaming about paper stealing...I have done for ever since it happened...but new CVs chose to ignore it. The incident that resulted in 6 months of the show is now forgotten. NO words...

And as they say Experience aakhir experience hota hai. Kiran Kumar and Vaishnavi McDonald proved it today...

Today the dialogue writer I felt was in some different world, all the scenes be it Nanu-Vishakha, Nanu-Sameer or Nanu-Vishakha-Sameer, were so well-written that they struck a chord with every viewer today...

The dialogue when Nanu says Vishakha tumhari zindagi savarne ke liye maine Sameer ko apni chhaaya mein rakha hai, just pierced my mind. It was like Nanu was his protector, protecting and shadowing him from all the evils of this world. As rightly said by you, what Vishakha was expected to do Nanu did all these years and now he expects and wishes Vishakha to love him like how he did.

Sameer mera guroor hai. Nanu indeed has been his friend, his brother, his guru and his mother all his life. Nanu cannot fathom his life without Sameer. Nanu now wants his Sameer to take up his responsibilites.

I agree Nivi, Naina not overtly worrying or missing Sam was nicely done. She was diverting her mind and enjoying with Preeti just like normal humans. This show thank God doesn't show diya bujhna and all. But today just like you I also felt and wanted full 21 mins of Nanu scenes.

Oh and one more thing, Naina was not there on his mind today and may be won't be there in Monday's episode. And I liked that. Usually movies and many TV shows show that whatever happens in life, their love-life is the thing on their mind always. But in reality when tragedy hits our family life, love-life is bound to be back seat. He is not in a state to think about Naina or his relation with her for now. Well done.

Anyway it was a very emotional ride for all of us. A very nicely made, subtle but impactful episode with wonderful performances. Nothing much to discuss today.

Precap: I don't want to think about it. I'm horribly confused, don't how will things wrap up in 2 days. Please CVs after impressing and raising our standards by giving such a power-packed and superb episode please don't dishearten us by forgetting logic.

Nivi love you for this🤗

Zulu, thank you 🤗. Likhna hi tha itna zabardast episode tha aaj.

Yes, Sameer's mind was not preoccupied with Naina. I liked that too. M and P are the ones thinking about Samaina next week. I agree this episode by far has to be the best in the show so far.

The bond you shared with Samundit brought a smile to our faces and warmed our hearts. Thank you for brightening our days. Thank you for all the beautiful memories.

R.I.P Nanu. You will be sorely missed. Kiran ji you will be sorely missed.

Life is unpredictable truly. Spend time with your loved ones and never ever go to bed or end a conversation with anyone in anger. Never ever hesitate to show your love to them. Say I love you often Kyunki kal ho na ho!

In asli duniya, Nanu's passing away in the show and its aftermath will be a painful walk down the memory lane for Mr. Mittal.

Nanu had the most beautiful dialogues today. His last words to Vishaka also were a message to Somani. Good he heard Nanu's last wishes. He was confusing though with his expressions for he seemed to be smirking one time and concerned another time even kept his hand on Sam and Vishaka briefly. Did we briefly see his humane side? Did he acknowledge Sam's smile is precious?

Will Vishaka be able to fulfill her father's last wish?

I had hoped Nanu would have a word or two with Mundit as well. They loved him as their own and he was fond of them too.

Yesterday I enjoyed the village scenes, today they were downright annoying. I wish they had added Samundit Nanu scenes as FB instead as you suggested. Yesterday I hoped they were dragging Nanu in hospital scene possibly to show him recover... well... but I am glad they didnt rush it. A character like Nanu deserved a proper send off.

BTW nobody looked at Preeti or Naina during the wedding track and now suddenly we have two dudes crushing on her?😕

At the moment don't want to think about Samaina or Sameer in Somani household. Dont really care and had enough of the darn symbolism and speculations!

Emotional episode, well enacted by everyone. I liked Randeep better in today's episode than yesterday's.

BTW was Somani wearing white pants? I don't get men who wear white pants!!😕

Thank you Nivi for this post and caps and giving us a place to discuss or rant🤗 ❤️

Nandy 🤗 hope you feel better by next episode, I know you were fighting aganist odds and wanted to be in your bubble.

I agree about Somani.. he has me confused too, he first taunted Sameer, then he smirked when Nanu called him kamzor but when Nanu said Sameer's smile was precious he seemed to be emotional. This probably was misplaced although I want ro believe it was genuine because that sentence from Nanu was like that. In the end, he even consoled them which I believe probably could be on the spur of the moment action.

Yes, Nanu having a word with MunDit would have been nice. They were in the room, such important characters these two. There was no need for them actually in the scene, I wonder why they didnt have a scene with Nanu.

Uff yaar Kavi, brilliant idea.. going as UN rep... no illness or death.

Rose, love Hrishikesh Mukherjee movies and yes that would indeed have been amazing if they writers had given it that sort of treatment. But that I suppose doesnt get TRPs😕
On paper stealing, TBH, I didnt want Sam to be angry with her. I couldnt handle another round of roothna manana. Also the way Sameer loves Naina, he wouldnt have been so angry with her even after knowing she hid the truth about the paper stealing.

The writers have been the same from the beginning. One of them is Shashi Mittal herself. Screenplay and dialogues has had a new one join just before the 100th episode when Sanjay Chel left. Sanjay was there from the beginning. The other one was there since October. There have been few changes in directors.

Hi Nivi... we all survived the toughest episode till date. Loved what you have written. 👍🏼 Ironically today belonged to Nanu... GOODBYE NANU!
I think by far Nanu is the best character of this show... next to Sameer...what a personality! 👏
Nanu was a positive person...with a zeal for life...
was a forward thinker...who never shied away from doing what's right even if it meant breaking society norms
was a thorough gentleman... never a harsh word out of him, yet well respected in the society
was extremely rich, self made ... yet never proud of all that wealth, he always remained true to his humble roots (so many times he told Sameer he started with Rs. 20 in his pocket)
was an emotional man, yet never let emotions get the better of him, was always practical in his approach...
never raised his voice unless it was the last straw... yet made sure everyone in the room listened to him and followed him...

And just like he told Sameer, he was a grand-father, mother, friend, philosopher, guide, teacher, all rolled into one for Sameer...and he taught Sameer well. Because the Sameer today is a junior replica of this wonderful man...
GOODBYE NANU! You and your gentle, intelligent and endearing ways will me missed...

Welcome Sameer Jaiprakash Maheshwari! One day you will prove to be a worthy successor to this great man...this in a nutshell was what this track was all about...
It was not just for Sameer to mature some more... because Sameer had already matured with all that he experienced during the redemption track, Nanu himself had acknowledged that... Sameer had also found his soulmate, one that Nanu was proud of as well... so his life ahead was mapped out, with Nanu's blessings... he was now mentally ready to take on the responsibility of the business and Naina, but somewhere he still hesitated to embark on that journey... he wanted to remain a kid for some more time. And Nanu understood and was willing to give him that time... but Destiny had other plans for Sameer...

Nanu had to go for Sameer Jaiprakash Maheshwari to be born... as simple as that!
If Nanu was alive, there would be no successor as yet, no pressure for Sameer to be the Waris... to be the son this man wanted him to be. Because Nanu believed in his capabilities... he had seen something in this young man that went beyond getting marks in school... i think in Sameer Nanu saw his younger self, what he was all those years ago... a bright eyed youngster full of life, who had big dreams of making it big, who had the drive to work hard towards his goal... In the redemption phase Nanu saw all this from Sameer and then some... that's why he was so proud to proclaim Sameer's greatness to Vishaka on the phone...😃

As Nanu said, these few years since Vishaka's remarriage that he spent with Sameer he has lived many roles... and so has Sameer... As Nanu said, Sameer often asked why he was not born as his son... and today Nanu finally made him that... his son, his successor...now it was time for Sameer to accept his greatest role, one he was born to be... and none other than his role model could give him ... Nanu always fulfilled every one of Sameer's wishes... and in a twisted way he fulfilled this with of being his son too... also by doing this proclamation in front of everyone Nanu has now placed Sameer on par with Vishaka... hope i'm making sense? That;s how much faith he has n Sameer's abilities.

Well, as sad as it is to see this much loved character go... and as much as we feel that there could've been other ways to achieve this... let's accept the CVs vision for what it is... in the end its their story to tell.

Nivi... to the question you raised... my guess is that Vishaka re-married about 6-7 years, max 10 years back... maybe Sameer was about 7-10 years old then. I remember Nanu trying to explain once to her that her marriage has hit him hard... emotionally. All he needed was love and care, and attention to help him overcome that. Instead Vishaka (and Somani) always put him in hostels, and maybe holidays were with Nanu... I don't think he ever went to Delhi...

Initially Nanu must've thought this would give time for Vishaka to settle down, but as time went by he realized that this was a convenient for both of them to lessen their work... if you remember in the earliest episodes Vishaka was all about Rohan this, Rohan that... Even Nanu didn't like it one bit...So I think with the passage of time it became easier for Vishaka to just ignore Sameer's existence, she almost forgot how to be a mother to Sameer...

This is exactly what Nanu sternly told her and Somani today... even if they want to ignore his presence, Sameer was very much Vishaka's son and he deserved to get the same love and affection that she is bestowing on her other two children. Well said Nanu!👏👏👏 And I'm glad Somani heard it... what a slap to both of them to remind them they have been ignoring their duties... a gentle yet firm reminder that Sameer was not a villain in their life that Somani makes out to be at every given opportunity... rather whether he liked it or not, fact was he had married a woman who was a mother and that child also deserved to be treated as such... Whether Somani liked it or not, from now on Sameer belonged with Vishaka... what a parting gift Nanu! Hats off to you! 👏👏👏

Only both of them are going to be surprised at the gentleman Sameer has become... this rather rare gem of a person with a large heart... one who is sensitive, observant and intelligent... a poet... and one who has the capability to achieve all the dreams that Nanu has seen for him... I for one, am waiting to see this journey of discovery for all of them...

The village scenes were good by itself, but I didn't want to see so many of them today... I liked how Naina was trying her best to enjoy herself, yet her mind kept drifting back to Sameer... and that moment when Nanu blessed Sameer and bound the two together for life, she felt it. She felt as if Nanu was calling out to her... we will see more of that next week...

I'm glad Nanu mentioned Naina to him... as if telling him she's your other goal, my second wish that you need to fulfill... and blesses him for that too... so now nothing is going to keep them from reuniting at the appropriate time, and that time in marriage... also notice how that village lady blessed Naina at the same time...

Performance wise everyone was good... Kiran Kumar and Randeep excelled! Randeep, especially has improved tremendously since Mt. Abu and its a treat to see him ace tough emotionally draining scenes now... his fun scenes were good from the start and with the last track he had vastly improved in the romance department as well... and now this. 👏 That last part where he cries, then smiles through tears on Nanu's request, to that final shocked, stunned look at Nanu's still figure, he did it all with ease...
