And yes because of Pooja's marriage track every damn thing is sidelined...I'm missing their scenes...This serial has given us the other characters equally good and interesting...as audience we look forward to their stories as well...
@Bold: Exactly...no scenes of Shefali and Arjun for 2 months...

Unfortunately they are turning him into a spiteful villain...if they are doing this for viewership then it is hard to see a character getting butchered for TRPs...

Am Saumya - started watching YUDKBH late and of course had to binge watch to catch up 😆 - too addictive!

I agree with most of your points here Z!! I was initially very fond of this meek, good at heart guy. I totally agreed with his anger on Sameer...which elder bro would take it lightly that some guy played with his sister's feelings...he would feel Sameer used her to satiate his ego. And I also agree with you on the Shejun scenes. But now- No. I'm getting less fond of Arjun day by day. To the point that yesterday I felt that Shefali can do better than this.

Arjun stole the exam papers n yet pleaded with Naina to keep it a secret, coz his dad's dreams will crash. He also says he didn't know what got over him to take such a step. We saw regret there. But yesterday, the way he incited his dad to have a go at Sameer...he reminded him that Sameer stole the papers during the headboy competition. He lied through his teeth n was damn cool about it. I can totally understand that he still hasn't forgiven Sameer n is still livid with him. But yesterday he showed no guilt for what he had done. I am constantly getting reminded of a character sketch Dr. Don had done once. He explicity mentioned that from the point of view of a boy, he can say that Arjun is turning like his father. I differed on this point n told him that no, the guy is good at heart n Shefali will definitely bring out the change in him. But these days, I feel that Arjun is a bheegi billi in front of his dad n family, but a sher in front of Sameer. Sameer is only tolerating him for Naina's sake. He knows he has to be polite to his saala. He could walk, yet again he pleaded with Naina to keep it a secret. I was like eww man! Pathetic! And then, in the shaadi the father son duo are acting completely in league. Yesterday I gave up on Arjun n I'm no longer keen on Shejun too. Maybe Rohan n Shefali maybe a good pair. Maybe even Pandit once he matures a bit. I guess out of trio, he's still not mature.

Even I was fond of him..though he had flaws but still I liked his character...it was a realistic character...
He is turning like his father agreed...A child gets traits from his dad but somewhat I feel the CVs have a had major writing or direction flaw after Mt Abu track...his character is being made into a villain to create a heavy stir in the story...which just doesn't feel appropriate...things are badly misplaced and amiss...See during the Mt abu track he was a flawed character, but still we liked his scenes...atleast there was something to look forward to...but now nothing...and that is making me feel uncomfortable as a viewer...
This show has been successful in showing the side-characters very well from the start...not all shows can do this on Indian TV...good or bad we knew it from the start...Like Somani was bad from day one...Chachi is good from day one...Rakesh is irritating from day one...but in the case of Arjun they are purposely killing his old character and making him something new and weird...a proper villain...

His character and his equation with Shefali is something I really enjoyed. Day by day he is becoming like his father.

I am remembering Percy-Dumbledore here. I don't know why.

"Dumbledore says people find it far easier to forgive other for being wrong than for being right."

Somehow I feel this is applying to Arjun as well. He is not able to see Sameer eye to eye because he knows he is wrong and Sameer is right.
Especially during the wedding track, Arjun was left wanting of some character in the wake of Sameer's personality. First, Naina compared him to Sameer, and said "Not every one runs from their problems".
Both Sameer and Arjun have made mistakes. The difference is that Sameer owned up to his and took corrective actions.

And during the photo-quarrel, Arjun's solution was to bully. Sameer was diplomatic.

Bullies are always insecure.

Love
Kshithi

Big Hug to you for the Dumbledore quote 🤗

Completely agree with Dumbledore...It is always easier to forgive people for being wrong...cause when they are wrong you feel psychologically satisfied that oh yes they are flawed, they are wrong...it boosts one's ego...but it's difficult to forgive for being right...they are right and it is difficult for one to accept and tolerate their righteousness...

Nowadays whenever Arjun sees Sameer, he tries to mask his wrongdoings by blaming Sameer...he has got one punching bag in life and that's Sameer...

But the problem irking me here is why did the CVs change his character so badly...Is this for viewership? Since long I knew Arjun was flawed but still I used to look up to his storyline because I had some hope that though flawed, he will bring mild discomforts to the main story, but still his story is interesting to watch...Shef-Jun is good to watch...but now they making him a monster...which is kind of character assassination to add excess masala ...already there was good amount of masala...i guess they don't need anymore masala in the form of Arjun...they literally killed Arjun-Shef story...she is nowhere to be seen with him since 2 months...

He is being a good brother, I agree on that but he is plain jealous of Sameer. That is what they have shown him from his wheel chair days especially after Naina compared the two of them. He cant stand Sameer because he knows Sameer has been successful and he the opposite. He is like a sheep in wolf's clothing - keeping the elder brother picture out but inside it is more than that.
He is also concerned probably for Naina that if the family came to know then Naina would have problems. So, he is trying to keep Sameer away.

The CVs are dealing with only parental pressure and oldee brother wrt Arjun..

Hey Nivi...Thank you...
@Bold: Exactly I so wished for some Shef-Jun scenes during his injury...
And I agree, he is plain jealous of jealous of Sameer...he is just blaming sameer for his failure...a trait inherited from his father...
But why are they showing him that way? He was a weak character from the start, but now he seems to be having a cruel streak......Hope this is not for TRPs

To me Arjun-Shefali never took off from first base. 😕 Arjun is too weak a character... and not just now. I'm talking from the very first shot... from the moment he got down from the bus I saw him bed down to his father's wishes...

He has never taken a stance for himself... even a simple matter of what he wanted to eat! Rakesh refused dinner at chachi because he didn't want tinde and ordered ARjun who then left his plate full of food and followed meekly... at he same time chachi asked Naina and she sat put stating she will eat becaseu she loved tinde... to me that scene defined the two siblings... that was the day I wrote if Arjun is not careful he will turn into another Rakesh and now we see that...

Next was Meghaben incident...we all saw how he behaved upon spotting that poor girl, as he scared of Taiji...he made false excuses and escaped from Shefali then... his non-support of Shefali when the other guys teased...

Arjun's list can go on... the biggest, and this is a crime punishable by law, was stealing the papers... yes, he felt guilty of a day or two and the moment he convinced Naina he also convinced himself that it was the right thing to do... and now he has made that his reality. he has no qualms blaming Sameer even today... if he was truly guilty he would not be able to see Sameer in the eye... he should have stopped the cricket ban punishment...

And this time when the accident happened he conveniently blamed Sameer... ti was not for the accident but to take revenge for Naina... even if that was justified to certain extent, his subsequent behavior and treatment of Sameer when he was helping is not... and once again trying to shift the blame on Sameer... only this time he was out-smarted.

Sorry, but to me his only redeeming quality is his love for Naina... which now seems to be overtaken by his false, bloated ego, as he is unable to understand her happiness. I feel Naina will only tolerate so much... until now she has not spoken against her father, but she has no such fear of Arjun... if he goes overboard, he will have to face her wrath!

I was looking forward to your comment Aarti...you write so well...👏

Ok so yes Arjun has been a meek and weak character from the start...I agree to many of your points...many times he was even shallow in his thinking ...but still till the Mt Abu track there was some hope...

But still he was atleast concerned about people in his life...Like in the case of Meghaben incident he said Shefali to stay away from her to avoid problems ...he knew it that if anyone from his family saw Shefali talking to Megha, then even Shefali will be tagged as bighdi hui ladki...He didn't want any bad name for her...Yes his mentality was wrong but atleast he was concerned...

Similarly I remember he once shouted on one guy who commented on Shefali in her absence. It will take time for him to take a stand in life, come of out of his coward zone. But now the way CVs are turning his character, I doubt even there is a possibility of anything good or positive...

They are trying to turn this weak character into a monster...which just doesn't make sense to me...Good TV serials don't butcher their characters or change them into something weird in the middle of the show...this is one show which has really good supporting characters...they have their own plots and stories...Hope they stick to that rather than adding some weird drama and angle to it...

Nice post👍🏼

Arjun & shefali seems to be a bit detached on & off screen , which is not good for serial as a whole.

valentine segments must have got all sameer naina swati, preeti munna pandit arjun shefali in the program as they all complete the sow.

They were probably in matheran last weekend ...roaming in jungle...

@Bold: Exactly...shefali has less scenes than even Swati...other than the leads, this show has some really interesting side characters...hope they focus on them too...

@Bold: This stand still is what is irking me the most...why such weird pause in their slow and gradual story? Exactly...neither did shefali come to meet him daily ...Infact I had seen some sort of care in their nature for each other...but nothing was shown when Arjun was injured...Yes she was restricted by Rakesh...but atleast a Shef-Jun scene when Safari suit's not around...

They are turning him into a villain...which I feel is mostly for gaining TRPs...and if it for the TRP game then I'm sad to see a character getting butchered...

I am Meghal... if it's difficult to remember for you please feel free to call me Melli( short if my username).
CVs need to re- work a bit in shefali's character... since was introduced almost as a parallel lead but failed to make a mark ever since the end of school picnic track. Coz I feel not only her connection with Arjun but with Naina too went for a toss in this period. Shefali was naina's 1st confidante and friend to know her liking and then special friendship with sameer but Naina stopped communicating with her later.
By today's episode , sameer looks confident that Sala maan jayega...let's see if the cricket match changes the dynamics between the two a little bit and the villainous Arjun is gone.

@KZ, Kshithi - Bang on! I have sometimes felt Sameer is like Harry... a lone fighter, who really doesn't have a big family to name of, except for Nanu (much like Dumbledore)... and then he his family in all his friends and the girl he loves. 😃

Sorry... got side tracked and excited when I read this. 😆

Thanks you. 😊

Ok so yes Arjun has been a meek and weak character from the start...I agree to many of your points...many times he was even shallow in his thinking ...but still till the Mt Abu track there was some hope...
Yes... he was constantly with Shefali, who challenged him to think differently. And for sometime there even I felt Arjun will improve... but then he spoilt that himself when he threw his frustrations with his father at Shefali and shouted at her... she is not one to tolerate that. So she stopped coaching with him...

Then he had his accident. 😕 Yes, she didn't meet him or a few days... maybe she was still mad at him or maybe she felt awkward seeing him confined to a bed. But once he started coming out in his wheelchair she saw him again... and also saw how Rakesh was still pressuring him, just like before. But because of last time she knew Arjin didn't like that at all... but he has again messed up by lying about his recovery...though she apologized for lying, lets see if she is willing to become his good friend again... It will be good for Arjun if it happens...

No KZ... with Meghaben it was not concern for Shefali. That was only an excuse... ti was more his narrow minded upbringing that made him run. He didn't have the guts to stand up and answer in case someone questioned why he was interacting with that girl...
He is a guy who has no guts to go against establishment, whatever be the situation... remember he did not want to coach Shefali because she's a girl... but his father wanted the money, so he pushed him. It did help Arjun, but even then... In that sense he is the opposite of Shefali... so I'm not sure how ling Shefali can tolerate that attitude and keep giving him chances hoping he will react better the next time...

Similarly I remember he once shouted on one guy who commented on Shefali in her absence. It will take time for him to take a stand in life, come of out of his coward zone. But now the way CVs are turning his character, I doubt even there is a possibility of anything good or positive...
True... at that time he was becoming very good friends with her... but one bad day with Rakesh changed that...

Well, in reality that's exactly what happens to weak characters in real life... their inferiority complex grows so much, that they reach depression... and react violently to every situation... make targets and try to hurt them. Arjun is fast getting there... his constant self appraisal in front of Sameer is like looking into a mirror for him...

What Sameer is today, after all the hardship he went through was what Arjun was before the headboy competition... Isn't it? And since then he has been unable to look straight in the mirror... and instead of owning up, apologizing and facing punished, he has always found someone to shift blame and escape...

The main issue with Arjun is, Rakesh... if Arjun is lucky enough to maintain a distance with Rakesh, he will change... and honestly he needs that pronto... he needs to somehow get away from Rakehs's aggression and toxic behavior... then his outlook in life and overall personality will improve...

And yes he needs to learn to loosen up some and learn to make some good friends... even though he doesn't realize it, Sameer is more than willing to be his friend... Why? Because the day he was caught, Sameer heard his excuses and understood his underlying plea for help... Again why? Because Sameer too looks at Arjun and sees his old self... the guy who ram from problems, who always blamed others to hide his faults, who took his frustration out at others... and above all who refused to accept his mistakes and strive to correct them...

So if Arjun just relents a little and starts spending time with Sameer, he will become his old self again. 😃 ... and Sameer will more than willingly forgive him even for the exam paper... Arjun is still young, and he can change, starting with his negative attitude, where he feels defeated even before facing something.

Exactly since the start they have hardly shown one friend of Arjun and even now they are not able to maintain that friendship in the show
I agree with you completely... His character graph if not rectified soon then will go down the drain...hope they show improvement in him and his relation in Shefali as soon as possible
