An interview with Rakesh Sir

For a while now there has been many speculations about the life and times of our very own Rakesh Agarwal, or Rakersh Sir as he is fondly called. Given the the very angry letters rife with complaints we received from our readers across the city, we at TPI office decided to visit Rakersh Sir and clear the air.
It was on a beautiful Sunday morning that we met our favorite librarian. A cup of tea and a tete-a-tete quietly ensued.
First of all let me start by conveying speedy recovery to your son Arjun and congratulations on your niece's wedding
Thank you. Arjun is my pride and honor. He will be India's Kapil Dev one day. Mark my words, he will bring India's second world cup.
And your niece?
Yes Yes. She will feature in India's next "Biwi Ho to Aisi production. We all are rather glad that she is fulling her life long ambition of being an unpaid and underappreciated worker..err...I mean a wife.
By then we were served tea by a charming young man with flowing hair.
Who is the boy, Rakersh Sir? I did not know you had another son or a nephew.
He is another of unpaid and underappreciated worker, Sameer.
Tell our readers about your family.
If you ask me, they are my inspiration for my sunny and nurturing nature. Thanks to them, I feel unpaid and underappreciated. This has given me the reason inspire and motivate my son to fulfill his potential. And because of this I feel I am the best father ever to grace this world.
What about your daughter, Naina? You must be very proud.

I was offered another cup of tea and once I had politely declined, we got back to our riveting conversation.
What was your childhood like? Did you always plan to become everyone's favorite librarian?
My childhood was like any other person. A middle class upbringing. I was quite happy. But, let me tell you an interesting anecdote. Growing up I never thought of becoming librarian. For some time I dreamed of becoming martial art specialist. I wanted to learn all the karate chops and break some bricks with my bare hands. I was heavily influenced by our very own angry young man, Amitabh Bachchan. This continued for few years. Then I dreamed of becoming an opera singer.
An Opera Singer! Very unusual indeed!
Very much so. There was a radio program which exposed me to opera. I loved how the singers could take their voices to such heights.
Instead you became a librarian. It must be really disheartening to let go of your childhood dreams.
So you think. But I am very happy being a librarian. This profession has given me an opportunity to fulfill all my dreams.
How so?
If you come to our school or home any day, you can see me engaged in my passions. You see, Instead of bricks, I get to break lot of teeth. And very soon I will be writing and composing my own opera. I have been practicing the higher pitches of opera every minute of the day by talking with a volume well above the normal human decibels. I am very happy with my life.
