guys most importantly
he is a boy and boys really don't express it like girls
they have their own way and it can be confusing , but girls are very clear about it.
and it is quite realistic too😊

Agreed Meher...I was just about to quote the chandani raat scene...when you are in love, you don't have to make any efforts to show it...on.the contrary trying to hide it is a task...ur eyes, ur talks, ur body language all reveal it despite urself...it's not a question of being cautious...not wanting Sameer to be flirty here...see the campfire night, kavita scenes, dil deewana shirt, boating scene...the guy was just not in control...this is how a man in love should be...what's worrying me is I feel Randeep is too good with his eye n facial expressions...n yes a monologue, him dreaming about their moments together in pvt, looking at the Mt. Abu pics lovingly

The scene (long ago) when Naina had scolded him with her jhoot moot ka gussa and later how he followed her in the school, that much love also is not being portrayed now a days.

And mainly he has to remember all the love they had towards each other from the time they met.

I guess the missing links is what making the viewers feel something is lacking in the way he is portraying love through his eyes.

I kind of agree and disagree.

I think there were two chances after the hospital when Sameer could have reminisced about Naina which the cvs missed... one when he developed the photos and two when he recorded the poem. Obviously he remembered all those things, he made a poem about it, it would have been nice to see the old shots with each line he uttered.

Having said that this Sameer in sasuraal phase is definitely not the time for him to be romantic. First he has Naina who is either unresponsive or annoyed to even look at him or just plain stays out of sight. Then he has Arjun who is literally breathing down his throat, so Sameer has to maintain a neutral expression. Finally there is all the family around him who have made it clear that they are barely tolerating him for Rakesh and would rather see the back of him. In this instance he is doing everything he can to downplay his feelings for Naina. He also realizes that both Naina and Arjun think what he did was only for bet and Sameer has no real feelings for her. Even today Arjun warned him of that.

Inspite of this there are moments, like the chai when the song plays and both are affected for a second before she shuts down. And now the Precap... he is drawn to her but look at her face she is clearly annoyed to see him at her doorstep. She was almost hoping Rakesh would send the trip back but didn't happen. And he is taking his fill of her but at the same time showing her his determination in his eyes.

I also think it's his whole thought process if you notice he is always talking about making her happy again. In his private confession he clearly says even if she didn't love him back. It's always Nanu and friends who talk of getting her back. I think somewhere he fears he has lost that love forever, never to get it back. So he doesn't want to build up his hopes towards love. For now, he has buried it deep inside him. It will come out in unguarded moments, it will come out when he does something to show his care For her but it will not be obvious. That will be his way of expressing his love. Also, he's a guy, not too expressive at that. He writes poetry as a means of letting out his feelings... then he has his friends and Nanu to talk to, so a private time is rare for him now. But yes, I do want to see that one rare moment from him when he realizes when he started falling for her or what was it that caught his attention...

I just watched the episode, and I both agree and disagree with what you are saying. After his confession, I was really hoping for Sameer or his voiceover to speak of his feelings for Naina - what he loves about her, reminiscing moments with her. But that didn't happen. Meher had mentioned that she wanted to see anxious Sameer before he stepped foot into the Agarwal house. Him worrying about what it would be like to be in her house for so long, his nervousness to see her, be around her - these were all aspects that could have been highlighted. Without that, the characterization seemed incomplete. So I feel the fault is more in the writing than in the direction.

Yes im feeling the disconnect is more in writing than the direction...The first part was from Nainas pov ..that is falling in love which was potrayed n presented beautifully...with intricate features being put forth jus like how she baked a cake for him the first time...her knitting the sweater...im not saying wat she did but the detailing of the scene showed the impact of her efforts n devotion to her first love..So we could relate to her...Here the second part rite now is from Sams point of view...the major chunk of it anyways how he is trying to win her back...so the narrative of his detailing is gone missing...Again its not the things he has to do for her but his gestures, thought process n actions related to her has taken a backseat in putting forth the depth of his emotions to us audience!!...

Very apt thread.

Most of the time Sam seems to be emoting uncertainty and confusion during his scenes with Naina. I understand that he knows he is on shaky ground with Naina at the moment.. but if we as audience cannot see a glimpse of his love shining through every now and then how is Naina expected to realise? But again it's just been 1 day since he has entered her house.. so that may change in the next couple of episodes.

More importantly, the real disconnect has been bcoz of lack of any alone time with Sameer and what he is thinking or doing.. previously we got to him expressing his emotions - either impatience to get Naina to fall for him or anger when she wasn't answering his calls.. so many instances.

But now they have Mundit in every scene with Sameer. Even his day dreams/dance feature them 🤣 Are we expected to interpret this as his way of trying to not hope for a reciprocal of his love? As an audience I am confused...

@bold- have to agree to this completely. That's the reason I was disappointed the day after the confession when the scene directly shifted to the house. I wanted to see him reminiscing about why and when it all happened. Still keeping my hopes high when he actually confesses to Naina.
Developing photo would have been such a lovely scene. Perfect way to think about your loved ones.
Oh!!! Him writing the pen thinking about her.. wow I would have loved loved to see that. Instead we got the random dancing song.

But he definitely didn't have the time later. He got her a card and the Arjun fiasco happened. More at her home he is just happy to get one glance leave alone Pyaar bhari baatein.

When is the red T-shirt Wala scene- the second innings outside her home in the balcony.? Hoping to get some good scene at least then where he yearns to get a look if her again. May be he remembers those moments.

Tis is wat im harping around...His lone moments are gone for a toss...Pasting pics or.Either wen hes writing the shayari recollecting her...now his Nanu has joined in😆😆...thy r all 2gther ...I wnted him to write it 4 her in privacy...tat is him n her memories.

BE it any scene at his place...his impatience,restlessness...even anger or irritation that shes ignoring him...unless n until v dont get to pry into his frame of mind ...how we will understand n connect😆

For me the blunder was straight aftr confession...the wonderment ..the shock feeling that sinking in him...that he is in love completel y not emphaissed...i wnted him to understand the enormity of that situation ...the depth of those feelings that he outwritted her as a frend!!...All thse memories flashing to him at his lone time...
