After yesterday's episode, I am in a state of analyzing the characters and their feelings. And also, the real-life co-relation to it.
I am expressing my views, and I feel many might not like it. However, it needs to be stated.
Is Naina is becoming just an EMOTIONAL SUPPORT for Sameer when he requires without getting any Love in return? Is she being used - willingly or unwillingly?
Though I feel for both the characters, but I also think that the writers are getting confused. They did an excellent job in showing the love and devotion Naina has for Sameer. It touched everyone's emotions.
However, as far as Sameer's love for Naina, it's a complete misfire till now. The feelings of Sameer are yet just restricted to guilt, anger. Guilt for cheating Naina and Sadness/Anger towards his mother.
There has been an overemphasis on the Guilt Sameer feels, seeing Naina's love and devotion.
It's high time that the story showed Sameer being genuinely attracted (Like Naina is attracted to Sameer).
Be it for any reason - either Naina's simple looks or her dedication towards him. (They did show that in the Sweater Monologue Scene of Sameer). But again the next episode there was a complete disconnect. The sweater monologue was more of Sameer's guilt.
Most forumwasi has previously stated that they do not want to see Sameer accepting Naina's love out of guilt or just for the sake of having an emotional support on which he can fall back when required.
What irks me is to see a character (in a show) or person irrespective of gender (in real life) being reduced to an emotional cushion or punching bag by another person.
Every relation (love, arranged) needs adjustments or compromise.
However, the most crucial aspect is to get that start by having some sort of attraction towards the person (be it any reason).
That attraction makes one put efforts to know the other person. That's how it works in real life. That attraction may develop after marriage (in case of arranged scenario) or is present from before (in case of love marriage).
But that attraction is the key to a harmonious relation. In my opinion, every relationship needs 3 components in the following order - Attraction, Love & Adjustments.
Naina's initial attraction for Sameer made her invest her time to know and understand him and his pain. She also adjusted her thinking as per Sameer (for example, the hand kissing scenario)
From the very start of the bet day till the end of Mount Abu trip Sameer witnessed umpteen moments of genuine love from Naina.
However, the way show progressed, it never showed that spark or genuine attraction in Sameer for Naina. In fact, now Naina is in the risk of being gossiped about/insulted by other boys and after all this no hint of Sameer being attracted to her.
Hope, they show that phase where Sameer is genuinely attracted to Naina rather than missing Naina just for the emotional support (when no one else close to him is actually giving a **** about him).
As an individual, I feel characters like Naina (in the show and real life) deserve much better and more love than just being used as an emotional cushion by or for someone.
I conclude the post and leave it open for the forumwasis.
