Yes, it's very refreshing to see how much love and chemistry can be expressed without any physical contact. And it has given these 2 actors the scope to really use their facial expressions and body language to convey the depth and width of their emotions.

Regarding Naina's strict no touch policy though I have a slightly different POV, or rather about the reason behind it. Yes, she comes from a very conservative upbringing and it was definitely not common for friends of other gender to touch each other casually.

But, I think along with that... Naina has enforced this completely no touch barrier with Sameer also becoz she is scared of her own reactions. She knows that his touch affects her immensely and does not know how to make any sense of it. Three instances come to my mind here -

1) During the early days of their friendship when she was helping Sameer with his studies, there was a scene in the library where Sameer's hand accidentally touched her fingers very lightly and her hand started trembling. When Sameer noticed it she said something about giving him an example of some scientific phenomenon and how our heart/body reacts to certain things.. (I can't remember the exact explanation now..)

2) When she found out that Sameer might be playing Romeo against her in the play.. she had one of her day dreams where she was Juliet and Romeo hands her a Rose. Just the thought of his fingers brushing against hers had her trembling all over. Preeti remarked on it say why are you shivering in this heat of Ahmedabad.

3) During the famous almost happened kiss scene, she was desperately clutching her skirt with the other hand while Sameer held on to her other hand.

During the episode the other day when they were all play that game when it came to deciding who will start as the first person to try and catch they all put their hands on top of each other and she did not mind it one bit when som other guy touched her hand. It probably didn't even register in her head.

Her values do play a role in this Pavitra Prem, but she is personally scared of what could happen if she does not draw a very firm line. She is attracted to him very strongly but doesn't quite understand the different shades of attraction.

I agree. She is scared of her overwhelming feelings towards Sameer.

I am sure when tying rakhi to Sanjay Tebriwal, she must not even realised if her hand touched his hand.

Sameer's touch evokes in her feelings which is absolutely alien to her and she is hell scared of it.

She believes in "Pavithra pyaar" but she also hides behind it to shield herself from these avalanche of feelings his touch brings in her.

Yes, I believe that's what's really happening here on a subconscious level.
