Hello dearies.😊
So this is my first separate thread on yudkbh forum although I have been watching this show from the very beginning. I am absolutely in love with everything about it and yesterday's episode was so good that I wasn't able to resist the urge of posting my thoughts here.😃
Is Sameer doing all these things only for a bet?? I don't think so. As someone has already mentioned Sameer started admiring her from the day Naina started to teach him for the head boy competition. He ananlyzed Naina's personality during those limited interactions and found her to be very innocent and honest. He was definitely pissed off with her when she declined to help him further under her father's pressure but still his heart knew that she has not been unfair with him.
But for me Sameer started developing real feelings for her when he came to know that Naina was the one giving him those blank calls and trying to lift his spirits even when her father didn't want her to do so. He was really touched by the fact that she still supported him in her own way. That was the reason he wanted to ask her the same even before Rakesh questioned his character. The challenge and the bet came later in the scene and Sameer's desire to know the reason behind Naina's calls was moulded into a tool to embarrass Rakesh and his values. Sameer is a possessive guy which can be justified owing to the treatment he has got from his mother and step father. He wants people he considers close to think about him and prioritize his feelings too, he wants people to take a stand for him against all adversities like he has done always for his friends, and the same was conveyed to him by Naina through those phone calls in a way which touched his heart.
The unfortunate incidents that followed may have buried those feelings shifting Sameer's entire focus on the bet but it all resurfaced when Naina came to his birthday party against all odds. And there we got see that expression of Sameer which he himself denied to acknowledge but Munna got a hint. Similarly the happiness he had on his face when Naina came to the class and looked at him after writing that quote on the black board.
For me, more than a bet to put Rakesh down, it is driven by Sameer's desire to make Naina accept and express her feelings for him without any hesitations unlike his mother who always listens to his stepfather's commands. Somewhere deep down, he is able to see the analogy between Naina and his mother. And that makes him try so hard. His ways are definitely wrong and he will realize that soon. One is able to act so well in a drama when he is able to feel and connect to it in real. It may be drama for Sameer as of now, but his connection to it lies deeper than he thinks it to be. Hope he realizes it and once he does he will fall really hard for her being all aware that time 😳
I apologize for the length of this post, I think it became a bit too long 😕
