Summary

This story has Ishita (Mumbai based, belongs to a family of businessmen) and Raman (Delhi based, father is doctor but brother working in Iyers company). Ishra are gynaecologists here and Iyers have now shifted to Delhi from many years. Ishra never met but had seen their photos as Ishita and Raman. Mr bhalla had hospital in Delhi plus Mumbai along with partnership with Mr Iyer. Ishita was working in Delhi while Raman was working in Mumbai but Raman had to come to Delhi when they got to know that some illegal activities have been running in the hospital. Raman entered the hospital in Delhi as Dr Ram after changing his appearance to know who is behind all these activities. Many things happening around Ishra, Raman trying to find the culprits. Mr Bhalla, Mr Iyer, Mihir, Mihika, Sunita Tai (hospital's chief nursing officer and the oldest one, close to Ishra and almost everyone) know about Raman's reality. Main suspects are newest batch, Ishita, Nitika, Ritika (trio friends) and Nidhi, Suraj and Ashok (trio friends). Many things happened and many more are still left to come.

Part-9

That evening, Raman came back to his home and after talking to his mother for some time, he went to his room. He closed the door and then went to the attached study room. He took out the print out of the photos which he clicked of the papers he got in Ishita’a cabin. Then he opened the door of his small secret room, actually his family knew about it but never went inside it, he used to have secret research works there and currently he was using it for his investigation regarding the hospital. He locked the door and looked at the walls at which many things were already stuck. Then he pasted the recent photos on the walls also along with a tag and connected with Ishita’s photo. He had many queries but no answer.

Two more weeks passed. Raman was trying to find the culprits but he didn’t get any more clues. He was disturbed after he got a few papers in Ishita’s cabin but he didn’t discuss it with anyone. On the other hand, he was doing his job sincerely and perfectionally. As now he was well familiar with everything in the hospital and didn’t need any assistance, this is what he was pretending till now so now Ishra were working together for the patients, they used to have shifts also as per patients’ needs. He was doing very well as Dr Ram at work. Nothing special happened in the last two weeks but Ishra were now more comfortable working together and were not fighters anymore except little bit taunting and one liners to each other.

One day, Raman was giving over to Ishita and was telling her about the condition of the patients as they were changing their shifts while ishita was listening to him keenly and then asking patients also about their health making Raman smile, he liked this quality of her very much, she is always sober, sweet and caring towards patients, always brings smile to their faces, talks to them personally, helping them emotionally, psychologically and financially also along with physical problems, they are a family for her. He got inspired by her behavior towards patients. She turned to him only to see him smiling, she asked him what happened through signs but he nodded in no while she smiled at him and they went out. He left for his home after bidding bye to her while she started her work.

It was 11pm at night. Raman was reading something when he received a call from Ishita, he was concerned. He picked the call only to know that there was an emergency case which needed urgent surgery and she needed his help as it’s a complicated case that to be a random one, she had no history of the patient. He agreed immediately and left to the hospital after informing Mihir.

When he reached there, everything was ready, she had already done tests and asked the patient's history by her family. She explained the situation to him and what she decided to do and how. He supported her and added a few more things in it. After sometime, both went to the operation theatre and started the operation. It took them many hours to complete the operation and could finally save the baby and the mother both.

Ishita settled in her room and closed her eyes only to remember the condition of the lady when she came to the hospital, she was disturbed. Raman entered the room with two cups of coffee and passed it to her asking,

R - You are looking disturbed.. any problem?

I - No, just thinking of that patient.

R - That I saw. I never saw you disturbed like this or should I say, I never saw you getting weak in any situation. Is there any specific reason?

Ishita didn’t say anything so he thought that she didn’t want to share it with him.

R - It’s ok….

I - Aise kuch specific nhi hai but…. when I heard that she was carrying her baby after trying for so many years…. I got scared.. I mean that couple were getting such a big happiness after waiting for so many years and if I would have failed so....

R - Are you scared for that couple or for yourself?

I - what do you mean? Of course for that couple. From where did I come in all this?

R - Why not? You have full right to get scared for yourself…. for example, if you would have failed so what would happen to your career, what if they would have filed some case on you or... what if you would have lost the zeal to treat anyone else just because of one patient.

He said, looking at her, making her think what he was trying to say. After some time, she said,

I - yeh sab kyu hota? Ek case mera career decide nhi kar sakta, vo mujh par kaise case kar sakte jabki un patient ka to khud accident hua aur maine unhe treat kia on time aur rahi bat meri, to main apna 100 percent deti aur agar phir bhi sab thik nhi ho pata to vo unki kismat, unki kismat kisi dusre ki kismat to na hi bna sakti hai aur na hi bigad sakti hai…

She was saying looking straight at him when she noticed him smiling,

R - But just now you said ki unhe bhot saalo ke bad yeh bacha hua to agar usse kuch ho jata to tumhe dukh nhi hota…

I - Of course, mujhe bura lagta bhot jyada… par

R - To Dr Ishita Iyer is par war ko chod do… You are a doctor, doctor ko bhagwan ka roop kaha jata hai par hum bhagwan nhi hai, hum apna best de sakte hai par can’t change someone’s destiny. Our responsibility is to serve each and every person in need, we can’t….

He was saying but stopped realizing that she was still thinking something and he understood that he was wasting time as she was concerned for something else. He asked her calmly and she said,

I - Ma baap banne ki khushi kitni badi hoti hai, we had seen many people getting this happiness, it’s a blessing. Aise kitne sare couples hote hai jinhe yeh khushi naseeb nhi ho pati jo kabhi ma baap nhi ban paate...

R - There is no one who can’t be parents. Science has developed now, it has many solutions to this problem and even if it’ll not work then also, they can adopt a child, giving a family to an orphan is the best thing you can do. But why are you thinking all this suddenly?

I - Nothing, just aise hi. Actually I had seen many couples going through all this which is very painful emotionally. Ok leave all this. You say… bhot gyan de dete hai aap to. Vaise, I must say Dr Ram, the lady who will marry you, she will be very lucky.. I mean you have such a good thinking, yeh to mujhe pta hi nhi tha. Aise hi hamesha sadu bane phirte ho, itni achi baatein bhi kar lete hai, yeh to mujhe aaj hi pta chala.

R - You are praising me or taunting me?

I - Maine tareef di thi aapne use kaise lia vo aapko pta hoga..

She said playing along with him and both smiled sipping coffee.

I - Thank you so much for coming on such a short notice and I’m really sorry… meri vajah se aapko rat bhar yahan…

R - It’s ok. That’s my duty.

I - But why did you stay? You should go now and take rest. In fact, you can…

R - Please stop Dr Ishita Iyer… I told you na it’s totally fine with me. and you are asking me to run from my duty… very bad. I just stayed because I thought I should help you. I know working alone is difficult especially when the patient is being operated on or serious along with other patients.

I - Thank you so much.

R - My pleasure.

Both sat silently for sometime , just sipping coffee. Then they went for checking patients. After some time, Ishita came back only to see Raman had already come and was yawning.

R - If you don’t mind, can I sit here? Actually, If I will sit alone, I may sleep…

I - I understand. You can definitely sit here.

Ishita sat on the chair and thought if they would sit silently then he would surely fall asleep and as he told her once, it would lead to severe headache so she thought to divert his mind.

I - We are two but this room is so silent. very sad.

R (smiled) - to kya ab bhangra karein… hospital mein?

I - Nhi itna sab karne ki jarurat nhi hai. First thing to.. stop calling me aap, you are my senior, it doesn’t feel good. Secondly, is boredom ko door karne ke liye we can’t do much here but we ca talk.

R - talk??

I (smiling) - Kyu ek ladki se bat karke aapka ego hurt ho jaayega?

R (smiling back) - Nhi. Start.. but what will we talk about?

I (after thinking for sometime) - We don’t know each other much, so let’s try to do it also. What’s say?

R - Ok.

I - So we will ask a few questions to each other about what we don’t know and answers will depend on us, if we want to tell or not but only truth is allowed if you are saying.

R - Ok, yeh hum bat karne wale hai ya koi game khelne wale hai?

I - Game ki tarah bat karenge to interest aayega. So who will start?

Raman raised his hand but then turned towards her making her smile.

I - Not bad, aapko bhi aise hasi mazak karna aata hai but aise zindagi jeete kam ho. Koi nhi, Ishita Iyer will teach you.

She said raising her invisible collar making him smile, then she started,

I - Ok so my first question… mujhe to aapke bare mein kuch bhi nhi pta… so tell me something about family first.

R - family…. ok so I have the world's best parents and best younger brother. Small and lovely family.

I - Wow, aapke sath rehte hai?

He was about to tell her but then thought not to say as she may have doubt.

R - Hmmm, actually jhooth main bolna nhi chahta aur vo log kaha hai yeh bta nhi sakta..

I - It’s ok. Now your turn.

R - Well mujhe tumhari family ke bare mein to pta hai hi so… ok tell me what you feel about your family?

I - This is the best thing I have ever got. I think there is nothing to say because sabke liye unki family best hoti hai, same with me. I always feel blessed to have such a wonderful family. Ok, now I will ask… tell me something about your schooling and college?

R - Schooling I had completed in Delhi and college, undergraduate in delhi and PG from mumbai, this hospital’s branch only…

I (surprisingly) - seriously isi branch se? Which batch?

He said in a flow then realised that he was telling her everything.

I - Good.

R - You say.

I - I had done everything from Mumbai only. So now the next question. Friends?

R - Yes, I have friends but don’t have with me like you have. I mean working at different places, don’t get any time to spend with each other. You are lucky.

I - That I’m. They are my best friends and it’s so good to have them always with me, specialization is different but we are together in the same hospital.

R - That’s why I said you are lucky.

I - So Dr Ram, you are good looking, intelligent, smart, a specialist… so kabhi koi ladki peeche nhi padi.. I mean kisi ne to propose kia hi hoga.. ha vaise propose na sahi.. i mean aapke gusse ko dekh kar shayad himmat nhi ki hogi par aapko to pta hi hoga kisi ne kabhi aise signals diye ho?

She asked smiling, teasing him while he smiled softly at her and said calmly,

R - Yes, you are right. Propose karne ki himmat kisi ne nhi ki but yes signals bhot mile but I never give them any attention...

I - Kyu, Aapko unme se koi pasand nhi aai…

She said trying to pull his leg while he was all ready,

R - Ji nhi, unme se koi mere gusse ko handle nhi kar pati. Now, same question for you.

I - Kya hai na, main aapki tarah gusse wali nhi hu to koi mujhse darta hi nhi tha even after getting scolded and shouted for many times. internship mein ek doctor peeche pad gaya tha, as he was senior so I tried to deny him calmly but he was not understanding, I scolded him, shouted at him but no use. Then finally, one day, I couldn’t control myself and slapped him hard. Uske bad usne kabhi nazre nhi milai. It was his good luck that no one saw that incident otherwise uski izzat ka kya hota…

Ishita was laughing remembering those days while he also joined her.

R - to yeh kehna bilkul sahi hoga in thappad ki shuruat vhi se hui hai?

I - Actually yes. Nitika and Ritika were with me na so they know me from that time, they only spreaded all this… half century and all…

R - Nice.

I - To yeh to bat thi ki kisi ne aapko pasand kia par kabhi aapko koi pasand nhi aayi?

R - No, kabhi koi aisi mili hi nhi..

I - Kaisi?

R (smiled) - Kabhi baith kar socha nhi.

I - Yeh to mera dialogue hai, you can’t copy my dialogue.

R (confused) - which dialogue?

I - Vhi jo abhi aapne bola, mujhse bhi agar koi poochta hai ki mujhe kaisa ladka chahiye to main bhi yahi kehti hu ki kabhi baith kar socha nhi.

R - Chalo kuch to same same hai hum dono mein.

Both shared a sweet smile and after a few seconds of silence,

R - So no more questions left?

I - Now what can I ask? Family study friends love interest.. sab to ho gaya.

R - Hmmm, to main poochta hu.

I - Ok

R - So, friends hai… koi enemy..

I (surprised) - Enemy??

R - Ha, aaj kal sabke hote hai… personal or professional..

I - Dr Ram, kisi aur ka to pta nhi but yes I’m very clear in my life. Bhagwan ji ne humhe itni pyari zindagi di hai, use dushman banane mein kyu gawana, dost banao, khushiya lutao aur khushi khushi zindagi bitao. So no enemy.

She said smiling, making him smile also.

R - Ek confession karu?

I - Confession? Dr Ram aap mujhe dara rhe ho?

She said trying to make a scared face while Raman understood that she was just joking.

R - You are a big mischievous girl I have ever met.

I - Haw.. You are so bad and this was your confession?

Raman smiled looking at her while she got confused seeing him lost and asked through signs waht happened.

R - Nothing. Vaisi confession yeh nhi tha..

I - To??

R - Bas aise hi.. I mean yahi kehna tha ki..

Ishita looked at him surprisingly as he was hesitating while he said,

R - Initially, I didn’t like you and your behavior but sach kahu to you are really good, personally aur professionally, zindagi ko ek dum ek blessing ki tarah zeeti ho, kisi se koi nafrat nhi, kam se kam tension lena, sabki khushi ke bare mein sochti ho chahe vo apna ho ya na ho, koi chota ho bada ho, ameer ho gareeb ho, sabki pareshani dur karti rehti ho, khushiya bantti rehti ho, you know tumse daily bhot se log inspire hote hai… aur sach kahu to unme se ek main bhi hu.. Kitna bhi kahu ki tumhara style bhot azeeb hai par yeh style mujhe bhi acha lagne laga hai. Kuch to hai tumme jo sabko tumhari taraf kheechta hai...tumse to koi nafrat to bhot dur ki bat hai, thodi si narazgi ya gussa bhi nhi kar sakta…

I - Phir bhi aapne mujh par itna gussa kiya hai..

She said complaining to him while he smiled and said,

R - kaha na pehle tumhara style pasand nhi tha.. really sorry that.

I - pehle mera style pasand nhi tha par ab hai, pehle mujh par gussa aata tha par ab nhi aata. So someone is changing..

R - Parivartan hi sansar ka niyam hai..

I - Ji, Ram Baba ji..

She said folding her hands in front of him and bending a little while he also put his hand on her head to bless her, playing along with her. Both laughed at their acts. They talked for some more time, then Ishita sent Raman to his home to take a rest for a few hours and he left while she got busy with the patients. Both were thinking about the time they spent, their first ever open conversation. This conversation and the time they spent together had definitely brought some changes between them while both of them were having few more things in their own mind also after this...

Raman reached his home he went to his secret room and stick that papers on wall which he had clicked in Ishitas cabin he had many queries but didn't had answers of them two weeks passed raman was frustrated as he was not getting any clue he was working very sincerely and perfectly ishra used to work together for patients both used to have different shifts one day raman was telling ishita about patients he used to like how ishita help patients emotional financially physically how she talks with them etc he was smiling ishita also smiled he went home ishita started her duty raman got Ishitas call he got worried he picked the call she asked him to come to hospital there is complicated case she needs his help she don't have patient any history raman reached hospital they started operation after few hrs they were able to save baby and mother ishita was disturbed thinking about that pateint raman notices that loved ishra talk ramans confession was honest and nice Ishita is so cute pls update soon
