One night, Raman and Aman were having a discussion when they heard the noise from the kitchen. The noise was so loud that everyone woke up. When they went to the kitchen, they were surprised to see Ishita.

R - Ishita, tum itni rat ko yaha kya kar rhi ho?

I - Vo mujhe kuch khane ka man kar rha tha to socha thodi cookies kha lu.. by mistake mujhse yeh gir gaya...

Mrs Bhalla - Ohho Ishita puttar, mujhe bta deti kya khane ka man hai, main bna deti na tere liye..

I - Nhi nhi mummiji, bas aise hi.. aap tension mat lijiye, main abhi kuch kha kar so jaaungi. Aap bhi..

Mrs Bhalla - Tu chup kar. Aise kaise kuch bhi kha kar so jaayegi. Ja bahar jakar baith. Main abhi bna kar lati hu.

I - Par…

R - Ma thik keh rhi hai, jao tum bahar aaram se baitho aur Ma aap bhi iske sath jao. Khana main bnaunga.

Mrs Bhalla and Ishita (shockingly) - kya?

R - Ha main. Ab jyada time waste mat karo..

Raman didn't give them a chance to say anything and sent them out. Aman too joined him.

A - Kya bat hai bhai.. aap khana bnaoge?

R - Ha, trying to take out some special moments..

A - Aap khana bna rhe ho isme kya special..

R - Tum dhakkan hi rahoge.. us din galti se itni achi bat ki hogi. Arey Ishita ko kuch khane ka man kar rha hai aur main uske liye bna rha hu.. to hua na special moment.

A - Hmm, point. Lekin bnaoge kya?

R - vo to main bhi soch rha hu.. bol to dia lekin..

A - Jldi socho..

Raman was looking around what to make when he got an idea and both got busy in the cooking. After sometime, Raman took the dish out while Aman followed her. Ishita was talking to Swati.

A - Hello ladies. Presenting a special dish, by our new chef.. Inspector Raman Kumar Bhalla.

Raman put the dish in front of Ishita who was happily surprised.

I - Halwa. Mujhe aisa hi kuch meetha khane ka man tha..

R - I knew it..

I - Aapko kaise pta?

R - Ab Tumhare man ki bat jaanna to mere farz hai na.

A - Maan gaye bhai aapko, kya sahi pehchana hai bhabhi ko..

R - It was very easy.

I - Batao na….

S - Ohho di, Raman ji ke efforts ki kadar karo na.. kya fark padta hai kaise pta chala.

A - Ha bhabhi. Yeh mauka bar bar nhi aayega, bhai ne bnaya hai, jitni kamiya nikalni hai nikal lo..

S - Oh hello. Itne pyar se bnai hui dish mein kamiya nhi niklegi… tareef tareef hi hogi. Agar acha nhi bhi bna hoga to bhi acha hi lagega.. Right di?

She said in a teasing tone while Ishra looked at each other and smiled. Swati and Aman signalled each other and left Ishra alone.

S - Acha hai. Dono kuch sweet time spend kar lenge.

A - Hmm. By the way, tumhe bhot knowledge hai in sabki.. kab kaha kya bolna hai..

S - Knowledge bhi hai aur vo kya hai na.. girls smart hoti hai, kab kaha kisse kya kehna hai, bhot ache se pta hai humhe. But you boys will never understand.

A - Oh..girl factor. Means tumhara apna kuch nhi hai, it's just because you are a girl.

S - Really??

A - You just said it.. okay leave it. I thought you have some bhai bhabhi or didi jiju..unhe tease karte karte practice ho gayi.

S (little bit sad) - Mera Ishu di ke alawa koi nhi hai..

A - Sorry..

S - Don't be. She is everything to me and I'm very happy. Vaise aap ki bhi family..

They were walking and talking, he stopped, listening to her statement.

S - What happened? Sorry agar maine kuch galat..

A - Nhi. Aisa kuch nhi hai. Actually yes. Meri bhi family hai.

S - Aap unhe miss karte honge na.. maine kabhi aapko unse bat karte nhi dekha.

A - Because I'm a fool. World's best family hai, lekin unki value nhi pta thi.

S - Thi??

A - Hmmm, because I lost them because of my stupid behavior. You were right. We boys don't know, kab kya kehna chahiye….

S - To ab kaha hai vo log? Aap unse kabhi nhi milte?

A - Yhi hai.. I mean mere man mein base hai.. I really miss them a lot but.. shayad maine yeh realise karne mein bhot time laga diya.. chodo yeh sab. Bhot late ho gaya hai, tumhe so jaja chahiye, kal presentation hai na tumhari koi. Do you need any help?

S - No, everything is done. Thanks. Good night.

A - Good night.

Both went to their rooms. On the other side, Ishra were having some good time. Raman sat beside her.

R - Khao aur batao ki kaisa bna hai.

I - Aapne bnaya hai to..

R - Acha hi bna hoga..

Both smiled. Ishita was about to take the spoon when he held her hand.

R - May I?

She nodded and smiled at him. He took the spoon and fed her.

R - How is it?

I - Hmmm. Very Delicious.. I can't believe it ki aapne itna tasty halwa bnaya hai.

R (excited) - Sach mein itna tasty bna hai?

I - of course. Aap taste karke dekhiye?

Before Raman could eat it, Ishita fed him. He was surprised with his skills.

R - Wow! I can't believe ki maine bnaya hai yeh. Really tasty bna hai. You have it, kahi main hi na khatm kar du.

I - No problem. Dono milkar khatm karte hai..

R - Hmm, Good idea.

Both shared it. Ishra spent some quality time feeding each other and sharing some of their life experiences. Later, Raman started cleaning the kitchen while Ishita was admiring him and smiling. Raman completed his work and turned to her only to see her lost in him. He came to her and snapped his finger in front of her, bringing her out of her dream world.

R - Kya? Aise kya dekh rhi ho mujhe?

I (trying to hide her embarrassment) - Kya..main? Nhi to.. main aapko kyu dekhungi. Main to randomly..

R (smiling) - It's okay. I don't want any explanation. You can stare at me.. but not now. Chalo, you need rest.

Ishita nodded and both started walking towards their rooms. Soon they reached Ishita's room.

R - By the way, agar tumhara..I repeat agar tumhara dil nhi bhara ho aur mujhe aur dekhna ho to.. main tumhare sath aa jata hu..

I (hitting him) - Ji nhi. Kya aap bhi..kuch bhi ha.. aur mera man bhar gaya.a

R - Aur agar baad mein tumhara man kia mujhe dekhne ka, lekin main nhi hu to tum disturb ho jaaungi, aur so nhi paaogi, tum nhi soi to baby bhi nhi soyega aur phir main.…

I - Bas.. Raman, enough. And yes, agar mujhe thoda sa bhi man hua aaapko dekhne ka..aapke according, to.. I have a better option. Main yaha aapko dekh lungi aur aaram se so jaaungi. Now relax.

She said, showing his photo in her mobile phone.

R - Oh wow! I didn't know ki tum meri photo ko khudke itne paas rakhti ho..

Raman said, going closer while Ishita laughed and pushed him back.

I - Kya? Ho kya gaya hai aaj aapko? Kaisi bat kar rhe ho?

R - Kaisi matlab? Achi ya buri?

She smiled at him.

I - Okay ab main jaau.. I'm really very sleepy.

Saying so, she started going towards her room while Raman asked from the back.

R - Tumne bataya nhi.. achi ya buri.

I (turning to him) - Buri.. can't you see it in my behavior..

She said smiling and went to her room while Raman smiled fully.

R - Hmm. Means she also likes it.. spending quality time with me.. like I do. Haaye..yeh feeling kitni achi hai.

He too went to his room. Ishita entered the room and laid down on the bed. She was constantly smiling and seeing her happy, Swati also got happy.

Next morning, Mrs Bhalla asked Ishita what she wanted to eat.

I - Kuch bhi chalega mummiji. Abhi aisa kuch khane ka man nhi hai..

Mrs Bhalla - Pakka na?

R - Ohho ma.. maine raat ko itna acha halwa bnakar khilaya tha ki isse aaj koi cravings hongi hi nhi.

Mr Bhalla - Wah puttar. Halwa shalwa bnaya ja rha hai, aadhi rat ko, Ishita puttar ke liye.. Hamare liye kuch nhi.

Ishra smiled looking at each other. Mr Iyer was happy for his daughter.

R - Kya papa aap bhi.. no need to do this emotional drama in front of an inspector.

Mr Bhalla - Inspector hoga tu apne police station mein, mere liye to meri jaan hai.

Raman smiled while Aman was smiling but was a little disheartened also.

R - Okay, I got it. And yes, maine thoda extra bnaya tha, to aap sab bhi taste kar sakte ho. Main abhi lekar aaya.

Swati - Aap rukiye, main lekar aati hu warm karke.

After some time, everyone was having it and praising his skill. Slowly, all went to their college or work place.

One afternoon, Raman visited Ishita in the office.

I - Aap is waqt yaha kya kar rhe ho?

R - Mera time mera man, main kabhi bhi kahi bhi jau..

I - Raman aap na.. Can't you answer my questions straight forward?

R - Tumse milne aaya hu.. Is it fine now?

I - Very much. But I'm going home now.

R - Hmm, I know. I thought of doing this honour.

I - Don't tell me ki aaj aap phir as motorbike par…

R - Unfortunately No. It's just ki mera man kia ki tumhe ghar drop kia jaye...is bahane hum thoda time sath mein..

He said looking at her with a sweet smile while she reciprocated the smile.

R - May I have the permission?

I - And what will you do if I'll deny…

R - To tumhe utha kar le jaaunga.

I (surprised) - What?

R (tapping on her forehead) - Yes. But I know ki uski naubat nhi aayegi. Right?

Ishita nodded while he asked if they could leave. She completed her work quickly and both of them left together.

In the car, Raman was driving silently while Ishita felt weird because he was happy in her cabin then what happened suddenly.

I - Raman, All fine na?

Raman looked at her once then said concentrating on driving,

R - How do you do this?

I - What?

R - Everyone was giving us strange looks and gossiping and you are so calm..

I - Kaha? There is nothing like that. Aapko misunderstanding…

R - Don't you.. don't you dare to hide it. I can see. I can understand. Vo looks, vo sab..kitna galat hai, kitna ajeeb hai.. they were literally trying to make you feel guilty… and you are trying to cover it up. Thank god main aaj office mein aa gaya, otherwise mujhe to kabhi pta hi nhi chalta ki yaha yeh sab hota hai. Ishita, you can shut them up but.. stupid fellows.. problem kya hai unki.

I - Raman relax. Aap logo ne hi kaha tha na ki life doesn't give a second chance to everyone. But I got it and that to be very soon.. bas this is the problem.. How can a woman overcome her husband's death in such a short time and live happily? Beshak unse judi hui har memory kadvi hi kyu na ho but.. How can I move forward with another man? Aur abhi aap hi ne kaha na ki.. yeh unki stupidity hai bas... Ha agar main chahu to ek min mein unhe chup kara sakti hu but it's not needed. Jo pyar aur respect aapne aur aapke parivar ne di hai, uske aage yeh kuch bhi nhi.. aap bhi jyada mat sochiye..

Raman smiled for her but deep inside, he was still thinking of that. Rest of the journey was silent. Soon Ishra reached home. Raman was going back to his duty but on her insistence, he stayed for sometime.

Mrs Bhalla complimented seeing them together.

Mrs Bhalla - Ohho.. aaoji mere hanso ka joda..

I - Kya mummiji aap bhi..

Mrs Bhalla - Chal ja tu fresh ho kar aaja.. main khana lagati hu. Raman tera bhi…

R - Nhi maa, main bas nikal rha hu. Aapne dia tha na lunch..vhi kha lunga. Ok bye.

Mrs Bhalla - Ok. Bye.

At dinner,

Mrs Bhalla - Ishita puttar, le yeh taste karke bta, kaisa bna hai?

I - Yeh kya hai mummiji?

Mrs Bhalla - Tu aape dekh le.

Ishita opened the lid and got surprised to see idli.

I - Idli! Mummiji yeh..

Mrs Bhalla - Ek choti si koshish ki hai. Kha kar bta zara.

I - Lekin aise achanak..

Mrs Bhalla - Ohho.. Bhai sahab (to Mr Iyer), aapki beti bhot sawal karti hai. Arey puttar, ma bhi kehti hai aur sawal bhi karti hai.

I - Nhi par.. Actually, mujhe subah se bhot man kar rha tha.. aisa kuch khane ka..

Mrs Bhalla - Thodi der ho gayi na.. par Ishita, isme galti teri hai..maine kaha hai na, kabhi bhi kuch bhi khane ka man kar rha hai to bta dia kar. Agar teri Amma hoti to kya unhe nhi btati.

I (holding her hand) - Aapke hote huye mujhe Amma ki kami kabhi nhi ho sakti. Thank you very much mummiji. You are the world's best mother.

Mrs Bhalla - Bas kar.

I - Lekin aapko pta kaise chala ki..

Mrs Bhalla - Ab maa ko beti ki man ki baat toh janni padegi na.

I - Same Kal Raman ne answer kia. Vo hamesha mere sath secret games khelte rehte hai. Lagta hai yeh habit unhe aap hi se lagi hai.

Mr Bhalla - Sahi kaha Ishita, dono maa bete aise hi hai. Abhi tak mere sath khelte the, ab tum bhi shamil ho gayi. Sahi hai, koi meri team mein bhi hoga. Bhot pareshan kia hai mujhe inhone ne.

I - Ha, papaji ab main bhi Raman ko..

Swati - Di soch kar bolo.. Raman ji ne sub lia to..

I - To kya main darti hu unse. Kabhi kisi bat ka jawab seedhe se nhi dete. Aaj se main bhi..

R (coming from the back) - Seedhe sawal ka jawab tedha dogi..

I (surprised) - Aap ghar kab aaye?

R - Jab tum mere papa ke sath milkar mere against plotting kar rhi thi.. police walo ko na planning ki bhanak jldi lag jati hai.

I - Ha to..itna pareshan karoge to aise planning and plotting hi karni padegi na.

Mrs Bhalla - Acha ab yeh sab chodo, aaja puttar tu bhi aaja, khana kha le.

Raman went to his room and then came back after sometime and all enjoyed the dinner together.

Later at night, Raman came to Ishita and Swati's room. Swati was doing her project work while Ishita was reading a book sitting on the chair but she was a little uncomfortable. Raman saw it and went to her. He stood behind her and started giving her the shoulder massage.

I (looking back) - Raman yeh aap kya kar rhe hai?

R - Tabla bja rha hu..

I (getting irritated) - See, you started it again. Leave, I don't want to talk to you..

She said removing his hands while he again started massage,

R - Ha to bat kon rha kar rha hai.. main to shanti se massage de rha hu.

I - Ha to I don't need your massage.

R - Ha that I saw. Now sit quietly. And let me do it.

She felt better when he massaged and relaxed herself against the chair. He was happy that he could relieve her pain a little bit.

R - You know na you need proper rest, so why this workload. I think you should get full leave from the office now.

I - What? That's not needed. I can still work and I'm not just an employee, It's my father's company. I had many more responsibilities. If I'll not go then all the burden will go on uncle..I mean papaji. I need to find a substitute for me whom I can believe completely..

R - Do you need my help?

I - I have to find a substitute in the office, not a criminal..

R - Difference I know. By the way, Main criminals ke alawa bhi bhot kuch pakad sakta hu…

I - Jaise ki..

R - Jaise ki..yeh...yeh…( he said holding her hand, then wounding his arms around her)

She was surprised, felt shy and said pushing him back.

I - Raman, yeh kya kar rhe ho..

R - Tumhare question ka answer..

I - Nhi, mujhe kuch nhi jaanna.

R (hugging her again) - Lekin mujhe to batana hai.

I - Raman, Swati hai.

R - She is a good girl. She is busy..

I (tried to get free) - Raman..

Swati - I can't see but I can hear.

R - Then close your ears.

I - Raman kya.. kuch bhi bol rhe ho.

R - Ya apni di ko kaho ki kabhi meri bhi sun le.

Swati (smiled) - Vo aapka department hai.

Raman signalled Ishita while she smiled. He was hugging her from the back and both were looking at each other when they heard someone coughing. Both moved apart and turned only to see Aman standing at the door, closing his eyes.

A - May I come in sir?

Swati - This is not a class.

A (coming inside) - But kuch der pehle koi aur hi class chal rhi thi yaha..

R - Oye bas kar. Vaise timing bhot hi kharab hai teri.

I - Raman..

Aman - Nhi nhi bhabhi. No worries. Bhai aap agar bhul gaye ho to main yad dila deta hu ki aap hi ne mujhe bulaya tha.. we need to discuss something important.

R - Ha I remember. Chal..

I - Important? Any problem?

R - Tum khud ke liye itni problems create karti ho, vo enough hai.

I - How mean? Maine kya kia?

R - over work kar karke dekho khud ko aur baby ko tired kar rhi ho..

I - You know what you are bad..very bad. Ek to main pareshan hu aur upar se aap mujhe hi.. You know what you have changed. Pehle kitne sweet behave karte the aur ab dekho, hamesha tedha answer karte hai.

R - Changed??

I - Yes.

R - No ways.

I - I can prove it. Tell me, kal raat aapko kaise pta ki mujhe meetha khane ka man hai.

R - Maine kal hi answer de dia tha.

I - See, you always do this. Now I won't talk to you. Bye.

R - Hey..one second. Won't talk to you means.. you have to talk to me.

I - Answer my question then I will think.

R - I will first think and then answer.

I - See he doesn't care.

A - Ohho bhai, itni si bat ko kyu stretch kar rhe ho. Bol do ki aapne vo cookies dekh kar guess kia tha….

He said, then realised and looked at Raman who was giving him angry looks. He went to Aman and said slowly to him only,

R - Kyu, bhabhi ke chamche, tere pet mein koi bat nhi rehti. Ek impression dala tha Ishita par, bja di band.

A - Sorry bhai..par vo to jhutha impression hua na…

He was saying but stopped seeing his angry looks.

A - Vo bhabhi pareshan ho rhi thi na to..

I - Kya discuss kar rhe ho?

A - Nothing bhabhi.

I - And you, Ab Tumhare man ki bat jaanna to mera farz hai na.. This is what you said na?

She said, mimicking his sentence. He was avoiding meeting her eyes,

I - Bhot ache se jaan rhe ho.

R - Sorry, vo I lied. Actually, tumne vo sugar cookies nikali thi, salted nhi to I guessed ki tumhe meetha khana hoga…. And I cooked accordingly.

I - And luckily vo guess sahi bhi rha.

He nodded while she smiled at him, he also smiled back...
