Chapter - 8

Earphones and unsaid words

They went to the resort… had amazing meals that they could ever have… got some royal treatments..

“guys we’re going on that camping my brother is having next Saturday.” Ashok said generally as if it’s no big deal. They all were in car returning to their respective homes.

“for camping we need permission and money.” Chitra said knowing that it’s not easy.

“I got it all covered.. they’ve planned for 2 days but we will be there only for one day..like from early Saturday morning to evening and by night we’ll come back. And also my mom got it all covered regarding expenses. She said it’s okay to take my friends she will talk to my brother.” Ashok was literally boosting himself up.

“waah..” “wowww”all of them were surprised ..

“she is an angel…say thanks to her ” Ishita said cheerfully

“wait you’re going? already decided ? “ mani asked Ishita knowing her in and out.

“yeah… I’m taking pcm and I won’t really have any time for fun once classes start.. so I’m ready for anything.. just need to convince amma.” She said as if it’s super easy.With that they all started discussing about how to get permission from parents what to take what they will do etc.

Now she remembered she needs to ask raman what major he will be taking.

“you will go for that camp thing ?” ishita asked and slowly meeting his eyes.. he sat just by her side.

He nodded not exactly meeting her gaze but kind of in a decent way.

“are you going for science or something else?” she asked and anticipating, pressing her lips,crossing her fingers secretly hoping he would just nod which will mean yes.

He took few seconds before he looked at her and said “no” .. he knew, he could just feel she wanted him to be in same major as her and he hated it that he has to disappoint her but anyway he was not that interested in studies.

“may be commerce…I don’t like others that much… and I want to focus on my career in football …”he repeated soon after.

“oh” she could only say as she slowly released her fingers from crossing pose. She looked side wise as she thought these things she can’t really ask him to change. She exactly knew how much he loved soccer. He kind of took part in any opportunity he got, playing for the school team to some youth club society to the coach recommendation.

She was a little disappointed due to her own expectations but he was also because he knew it.

The day for camping finally came.. they were set to leave by early morning. It was summer and it will take 1 hr since traffic in morning seemed to be comparatively less.

The first five rows of the bus was for the juniors and all other sits were for the senior troop i.e. ashok’s brother suraj’s friends.

The girls mostly wore shorts and tops or shirt accordingly. Ishita has tied her hair in a bun.She didn’t really like to keep her hair open.

The guys helped to load the things into the bus. Ishita went up.. just when she was about to turn back she collided with a guy .

“ouch.. sorry” she mumbled with a smile taking a look at the guy. He was in his jeans that went only till his knee and a loose shirt. Not too tall or too short. A head phone was hanging on his neck. She tried to move to the side to give him space to go ahead.

“I’m sorry.. I was in a hurry for a window seat” he chuckled.

She nodded.. “it’s Kaushik …” he expanded his hand towards her and raised his eyebrows to get a response regarding her.

She took some seconds to register and when realized replied.. “Ishita… Ishita iyer..nice to meet you”… he looked surprised

“Wait…. You went to DAV batch 2010??” he was surprised ..

“yes ??... you know me ?” she asked taking a side seat in the right side of the bus.

“yeah.. heard your name when you guys won that singing competition…I was there for my friends from my school” he quickly adjusted.

He sat just behind her taking a side seat. They chatted and she came to knew his sister is also suraj’s friend.

Just then one by one everyone started joining. She quickly hoped raman would come and take the seat next to her but suddenly ashok came and sat beside her. She looked at him accusingly.. raman came and sat beside subbu on left side..

Finally ashok gave up… “I am exchanging seats … happy ?…come here raman ”

Raman came and sa tbeside her… she smiled at him..

“hey guys … so we have a friend here …from dps … Kaushik …” ashok chirped

They quickly exchanged hellos..

“hey remember me?” Kaushik asked raman .

“football match…??” raman said

“yup… we played last December and you pushed my teammate to win..” Kaushik said nonchalantly with a playful smile.

“I apologized and made sure I never repeat the mistake ..made it clear it was not intentional” raman said emphasizing on the word apologize and mistake

“good for you”Kaushik smiled as a formality and leaned to Ishita “we are already introduced”

She smiled brightly at him.

The ride started …raman plugged his ear phone and closed his eyes.. he was disturbed by kaushik’s words. They had a long day on that match and the decision was on their favor which definitely led to some displeasure and fighting. It was an accidental bumping and he already apologized.

He opened his eyes and she was looking out of the window and he looked at her as she waved her hand to a passer . she smiled and he felt someone squeezed his heart to make it feel a little warm. He tapped on her shoulder… she turned to him with questioning eye..

He gestured if she wants to listen to music by taking one earphone cord.. instead of replying she tried to put it in her ear by dragging . that was the smaller one and while dragging he was dragged himself to adjust for her.. when she put it adjusting and turned his face was close.. she looked into his eyes..

The music drummed in their ear “ batein dilo ki . dekho jo baki… ake tujhe samjhaye … tu janena ….tu janenaaa..”

They both thought will the other one ever understand what he/she feels for her/him.

He wished he could cover the small gap but they were in between at least 40 people. He took the long cord from his other ear without moving as soon as she lowered her eyes and put it in her ear . then took the smaller one to put in his right. She looked at the windows to hide her blush..

Her inner voice was screaming he could have kissed you… come on.. she patted her heart and closed her eyes focusing on the music.

He glanced at her sleeping form when they reached .. she leaned on his shoulder and slept peacefully hugging her knees. He sat their crossing his arms. He didn’t move. one by one people went down but he didn’t want to startle her or part of him just wanted to enjoy the moment.

“wake her up … or move so someone can” shagun said crossing her arms.

“I will… stop shouting” raman replied in a normal tone

“gosh… what will you take to confess raman ?” ashok remarked and quickly stopped due to raman’s glare.

He tapped on her arms and she woke “why it stopped...when will we reach there ?” she tried to take on the background when he replied “we already did”

Note : guys i'm really sorry for being so late and ending this chapter abruptly here but i promise next one will be quick for sure. do let me know what you think of this chapters by like and comment.

All went to resort they enjoyed alot while returning back ashok announced they are going for camping next Saturday which his brother is arranging all asked what about expenses he said his mother have covered expense problem she will talk with her brother ishita praises his mother all left for camping ishita banged in guy he asked her if she was in DAV 2010 batch he told her how he know her he set behind her was talking ishita was hoping raman to beside her but ashok set beside her she looked him accusingly raman set beside Subbu ashok is cute he changed the sit with raman that guy kaushik reminded raman about their competition in football how he had pushes his friend to win raman said that was not intentional he had apologized for that raman was admiring ishita he asked her if she will listen music loves ishra little scene aww raman is so loving boyfriend all reached to camp all got down from bus but raman was sitting as ishita was sleeping keeping her head on his shoulder he didn't wanted to startled her shagun asked him to wake up her or let her do that raman said he will ashok asked raman when he is going to confess raman glared at him raman woke ishita she asked when they will reach he said they reached waiting for more ishra scene
