Chaitanya Choudhary who has portrayed some great roles for successful shows of Balaji Telefilms, is all set to board the ship of Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, the popular and long-running Star Plus show.

Chaitanya will now be playing the role of Raman Bhalla. And this development comes after Karan Patel has signed on the dotted lines for the Colors adventure based show Khatron Ke Khiladi. He will be leaving soon for Bulgaria.

Says Chaitanya, “It was a big decision to get into Yeh Hai Mohabbatein. I started my career with Balaji Telefilms. Recently I did Dil Hi Toh Hai with them. So when they called me for this, they shared with me the idea on how they want to take this role forward. I got on board and yes, I will be starting shoot soon.”

Well, reports have confirmed that Chaitanya is replacing Karan Patel. When asked on this, the handsome actor states, “I am not very clear on that. I am coming in his place for sure. But I am not aware of whether I am replacing him or not. As and when the show progresses, we will also get to know more about it.”

Chaitanya and Karan go a long way and are good friends. “We are friends and we know each other. I know him much before we started TV. He is a great actor and has done a fantastic job as Raman Bhalla in Yeh Hai Mohabbatein. It is very difficult to take his place to be very honest. Now that I have got in, I will give it my best shot.”

Ask him on his approach to playing this pivotal role in the show and he avers, “I am just going with the flow. I have lot of people here to guide me. The directors, creatives will help me to take this character forward. The character has been on for six years. So there needs to be quite a lot of planning to get in and play this character now. It is certainly a huge challenge for me.”

There is always a chance that fans of Karan Patel and Divyanka Tripathi might not accept you as Raman Bhalla. “Quite possible!! I am here to do my work. I keep a very micro-view of things. I am here as an actor and I will do my job. For me it is like a task given to me and I will put in my best for sure.”

Talking bout his rapport with Ekta Kapoor, Shobha Kapoor and Balaji Telefilms Chaitanya explains, “I have tremendous gratitude for Ekta Mam, Shobha Mam and everybody out there. It is like homecoming for me. What I am today is because of Balaji Telefilms. My first show with them, Kahiin Toh Hoga gave me so much. Some people still call me as Akshat, which was my character name there. The production house has the most special place in my heart is what I can say.”

As a message to the viewers of Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, Chaitanya says, “I would request them to accept me with an open heart.”

3-4 weeks long leave was unnecessary, when he was in India absolutely doing nothing. Not that he was shooting daily for yhm, since February. He could have managed this 3-4 weeks and shot a lot of bank episodes for the alleged 6 week break.

The news started making rounds only when he is just few days away leaving for kkk.👏

As if they don't know that he will go missing for 2+ months

He clearly said in one iv, that hope people accept me as Raman.

In dusra iv, he says, he says that he is roped in to play Raman and he doesn't know if he is gonna play Raman or not🤪

Haha.. Didnt u read his managers msg..dat he had so many prior and other commitments....so he opted out of yhm...

Hahahahahahaha........even in ur dream u would be not our raman aka kp. Kp is raman n vice versa. Shameless woman is ekta u bi*ch totally ruined our yhm n ur so call especial treatment towards ur bestie love. Karma is a bitch n soon u will face karma u ******** ekta.

People here must first understand that since KP could not give time for YHM due to KKK, he had to quit the show. There wasn’t any pressure from the channel/PH. He was unavailable and the PH couldn’t show Raman absent for so long. So he had to step down.

About why he took a month break even before he could jet off to Bulgaria for KKK, his manager already told that Karan is very serious about winning KKK and has been working out seriously during this time.

I don't have a problem with Karan quitting/taking a break. My only concern is his replacement. This is a slap on the faces of diehard lovers of IshRa and their beautiful memories.

From his interview, it looks like this new guy is not sure about his character as to how long it's gonna last and what effect it'll have on the show.
