I see that you have problem coz ishita QUESTIONED raman ...so the general idea is a man should never be questioned ...he gets to do anything and everything...as he has the authority ..and a women can't?!...
Ishita did not have a problem with Raman's decision because he never took her into consideration as soon as she asked the question he shut her with my daughter my, decision essentially saying that she is a baanj and not a mother so that is why he went to asli ma to decide about Ruhi's future.
Raman is 40 years old he should have some common sense as to where to play a prank and playing a prank on a child's future is down right disgusting.
If I remember right the scene I saw Ishita did not involve Mani or anyone else she promised Raman but by herself(alone) she did not make it happen and that was also not a prank it was keeping his health at bay she did not allow him to consume alcohol.
The joke ishu had played was known only to her. That was not the case here.
