DT & VD liked each other as a person. So, lets keep aside their achievements in their career. If they feel they are good enough with each other to pursue their relation; definitely they should. For being a partner you are supposed to be sufficient enough to support your partner in relationship; achievements or success shouldn't be the judging point for them.
And keeping relationship secret is not a big deal. What if they wouldn't end up getting hooked to each other; again we would have lot of news regarding same.They both have some past, silently handling the pain of any loss is easy but if its public, you would be reminded by each and everyone which doesn't let you forget and move on quickly.
It's nice they kept it secret, now at least they are engaged; its already disclosed. As far as sharing with fans; it happens with us as well, sometimes we get so much engrossed that we are not able to update all of these. In fact my closest friends, they shared their engagement news after weeks etc. So, its nothing like to be an issue. A person itself needs time to overcome these new changes in relationships.
People do hide their relationship status; we too hide it. It's not a big thing. As far as families are concerned their status shouldn't matter, like VD, DT was also from Middle class. Its her achievement. And its better to keep all these stuffs like status and achievements away from relationships.
Anyways, i wish them all the best.
