Just a correction.. only TN people (may be Keralites too, I'm not sure about them) celebrated yesterday ie Wednesday as Saraswathi Pooja probably. Most of the nation celebrated it on last Sunday (heard some places it was on Monday)

Tuesday was Ayudha Pooja, the day prior to the goddess attack on the evil

For the rest of India its Durga Ashtami, the day when the goddess Durga killed the demon. Ashtami means 8, month starts from the end of Amavas in most parts, except few south states, where it starts after Poornima, anyways either way, its 8th day & even Navami - 9th day came up on the same day. Dasami means 10th day (thus Vijaya Dasami), you could refer to the regional calendar for the exact timings 😊
