Well here's my honest opinion after the watch. Please be forewarned that this might be 'negative ' for some people's taste and read at your own risk 😆
Today's episode was what I feel one of the most poorly executed episodes.. I'm not talking about the logic or lack there of about the miracle of preganancy. The editors botched up in mixing the scenes royally leaving some awesome performances unappreciated.
The episode started on the perfect note between Ishita and Raman... The heartbreak of both were palpable and I also understood what Ishita meant about wanting the kid for Ruhi's sake part.. When a woman comes to know she cannot have a baby, what is the point of her sharing with her husband that she's heartbroken again, when he already knows.. Raman already knows that and talked to her about thst at the cafe. This time her bout of crying started after her talk with Toshiji, it made her realize what a disappointment it's going to be for her and the family's aspirations about their baby ( I don't agree with this part from the cvs where so much was expected out of a woman who was told to have only 5% chance of conceiving when they already have 2 children already) . And especially Ruhi who has been so vocal about the baby. So I get that part where Ishita said she's more sad for Ruhi. A mother's heart always bleeds more when they know they can't fulfill their child's one true desire.
Raman's comforting of her .. His soothing words, voice of reason and support gradually calmed her down. This moment should have been just that.. A moment of a comforting between a couple facing their worst nightmare together and making the best effort to overcome it.. By each other's support... What became a distraction was Ruhi's overhearing and subsequent actions following that.
Delhi is not a small suburb .. It's a busy metropolis.. So for a 7 yr old to go the hospital on her own and create a ruckus over there about her mom's fertility treatment... Is not only OTT but a distraction... Anything we're feeling because of Raman and Ishita 's situation was replaced by annoyance as frankly that is NOT a 7 year old's behavior even for a fictional story.
What would have made sense if she had barged in and cried her heart out and asked her parents to talk to the doctor or Devi maiya... Ruhi's character was totally out of bounds today and effectively killed what could have been an emotional episode. Instead of inciting melancholy at her anguish ... Most of us were irritated by her. The Cvs failed one of the most beloved characters of YHM miserably in their zest of rewriting a miracle of pregnancy in a woman who was just told Sat that she can't conceive. None of the scenes made sense after this .
An episode which anyone who has followed YHM from beginning, would have rejoiced hearing the part that Ishita is pregnant ... Was left with more of a 'are you kidding me.? !." Kinda feeling... I totally blame the Creatives for this.
We all wanted Ishita to get pregnant for the same reason as Raman ... But We all expected it to be a little struggle , laced with some moments of disappointments followed by a miracle pregnancy ... But the timing is all botched up by the Cvs as frankly they seem to have forgotten that this is a track that truly needed their time and their TLC and not a mad dash to finish by hook or crook.
Hence the disappointment. there are always path of least resistance, but a story that has been built one step at a time leading up to this point, didn't deserve that path.. It needed a bit of patience, empathy and a little bit of research ... Which probably the YHM CVs don't have time to indulge in or simply they don't care.
I feel sorry for actors like Karan and Divyanka who give in their 100% but the script fails them a lot these days. It's truly sad.
Sorry if I disappoint someone with my 'negative' rant.. I care too much about this journey as an audience to not rant . Peace out.
