What Ishita and her lady gang did today was completely offensive. It is in no way acceptable that you make your spouse do sit-ups holding his ears PUBLICLY just because they partied and came late!
If this disgusting scene was not enough, CVs made Ishita ordered her own father and father-in-law to do the same! W*F!! Is it a mature show that shows a woman ordering her father and FIL to do such humiliating things?

Don't tell me it was just a lighthearted scene...we women even in our dream can't think of a scene like that!

Well said. The Mahila Mandal were OTT. The wives annoyed & the husbands trying to pacify them in private. It should have stopped there. The rest of the punishment was just annoying and cringe worthy. Thank goodness, Ruhi, aadi and shravan weren't there. Not just appa and Mr. Bhalla, even raman is the eldest son and what respect he will have before sarika & others. What are the so-called 'ideal wives' trying to convey?

The best part is people enjoying this crap. No wonder CVs are dishing out such crappy scenes on our face

Firstly the uthhak baithak happened in the Bhalla house in front of the Iyer-Bhalla family members only.

Yes it was OTT...especially the part where Ishita asks her Appa to do Utthak Baithak...that was totally unacceptable...but I thought, Bhalla ji was asked by Mrs Bhalla, not Ishita though. I may be wrong

Another thing ...YHM breaks logic /reason to create comedy or melodrama all the time...like in today's episode, how something as personal as fertility treatment of a couple is common knowledge to all and the doctor is sharing/talking about confidential patient information with his room mate and dropping the patient file everywhere in sight for everyone, to notice...Does it make sense? No.

So yes...YHM writing leaves a lot of gaps...not only with the brand of feminism but also with logic/reason..and I also agree it's irritating and offensive sometimes...it's what we, as audience, choose to take with a grain of salt that makes the watch bearable. For me I would take Appa's utthak baithak for mindless comedy over forceful addition of canonized version of Shagun in Ishra's fertility track any day. ..But then ultimately we'll only get what the CVs serve us.

No offense meant, just wanted to share my perspective.😳

I completely agree with every word of your post.
Other than Ishita ordering Appa to do uthak baithak (I don't remember her ordering Mr. Bhalla) I didn't find anything offensive. Her ordering her father was cringe worthy.

if the uthak bhaitak was done by the spouses in their respective rooms, we could've taken it a comic fashion but to make entire all the males do uthak bhaitak in front of others is not just another nail in the coffin for this show..

Daughter asking her dad to sit ups.. that too in front of all .. is some thing outrageous .. Okay lets forget about the relations we're like animals, we don't know what's a family & all.. think about their age.. especially Bhalla ji & Iyyer ji...

this is a show where we have to forget the past.. RKB just recently got discharged from hospital & Ish was busy punching him, stamping him.. sometimes I really wonder if she's an educated lady or not, forget about her being a doctor...

on the topic of feminism.. I really got no comments.. This show has given a new definition of feminism..

Well I didn't find that scene disrespectful or cringe worthy coz it was a comedy scene. It was within the Bhalla house and amongst the family members. If it would have been in public then yes, I would hv termed it as disrespectful & unacceptable but it was not.
In fact I didn't even find Appa's name being brought up by Raman in the first place as disrespectful or cringe worthy. His dialogue that instigated Ishita to make Appa punish that 'jisko tumne sabka take care Karne bheja tha woh khud rasam ki tarah whiskey pee rahe the'...I took that dialogue like one of his famous one liners. So if a son-in-law taking dig at his father-in-law's fun moment in front of all after the fun moments r over is acceptable to me then I wouldn't mind a daughter making her father punish thing so big as they all were having fun at that time pulling each other's leg.

Well, that's the root cause of all problems. Every shit is being justified in the name of comedy.

The main root cause of the problem is that people who say that they don't love the show anymore r the most ardent followers of every post trying to justify their hatred towards the show or the character Ishita. 😃

And yes, I justified BOTH the leads of the show in my post. One for his words & the other for her action. You hv ur opinion abt a certain character and I have mine so we respect that n leave it at that. GN

Didn't Ruhi make her dad do Uttak Baithak after he tried to flee to Singapore? Im sure many people would have thought that was cute. Unfortunately, the CVs have limited brain cells and keep regurgitating the same old stuff again and again. They did this as their version of comedy.

I find it funny how quickly people criticise Ishita and her behaviour towards Raman but find the Bala-Vandita relationship cute and funny, when she clearly is very domineering over him. Mihika also asked her Mr Iyer to do the Utthak Baithak. So Ishita is not the only one to blame.
