Raman: "It is when we love, that we become afraid."
Ka Wai Ng
She has been trying to get him to pay a little attention to her...look at her...look her the way her Raman always does...but her husband has been missing since the moment he laid eyes on her in the gown...even while dancing he has refused to look her way...making her feel inconsequential, undesirable
...and then momentarily their eyes meet...he gets lost in her eyes, in the moment...she notices the change in his eyes too, notices his struggle and tries to plead with him through her eyes to let her know what's bothering him...
It was a short one min or so moment...but the intensity, the rawness of his possessiveness, her disappointment... both of their suffering ...brought to life so well by the brilliance of two actors who express so much through just their expressions and body language. I was just blown away by the tangibility of emotions that transcended medium and touched my heart.

I wouldn't want to be in Ishita's shoes today. Everything a woman shouldn't have to endure, she faced them today ...from none other than her husband...and a husband who has been showering her with love for months now had turned into this cold, rude person . Every gesture of Raman's was an insult to her as his wife, a woman...she felt unwanted, unwelcome in the party...and she was made to feel that way by the very person who she had dressed up for. And every action of his rejected her, made her feel that she's indeed not 'his type'. And for her to be treated by Raman with so much contempt, indifference, it must have broken all her spirit.
And Raman was on his 'self-preservation' mode; he wanted to hurt her, reject her before she did that to him. The very woman who he used to fight with to make her stop wearing sarees for corporate parties, today he was having trouble to even look at her in gown because all his own insecurities tainting his vision.
While this kind of behavior defies logic...as we know that both have evolved in their relationship to a state where they have really good understanding of each other. But then this is YHM. Things sometimes don't follow the path or logic..otherwise why would a normal, in love couple still be celibate after more than one and half years of marriage, why would a grounded, educated girl like Rinki turn into her evil twin or Mihika into a bimbo, why would someone like Shagun care whether her ex and his current wife consummate their marriage or not? ..and there are more such instances...
What I'm happy about is that for a change Ishra are thinking only about themselves, about each other and acting possessive or hurt with respect to their partner. A marriage along with camaraderie, understanding needs some possessiveness...some desire to be the special one in your spouse's life...And we're seeing those emotions in them. And that to me is a track worth a watch.
And the two actors portraying the roles, make us feel every bit of the emotions their characters are going through. I didn't know whether I would have stuck to this story had it not been for DivAn...their acting prowess and their mutual chemistry make IshRa a whole lot relatable and an episode quite a watch.
*Note Changed the title as rightly indicated by folks that it was reflecting only Raman's POV...Sorry đł
