Divyanka Tripathi who plays Ishita on Star Plus' popular Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, had been confined to the wheelchair with a plaster on her leg, post an accident during an award (TSA) show rehearsal and just few weeks back only the actress removed her plaster...

So we gets in touch with the actress to know how difficult was it for her to shoot with her plaster...

How are you feeling that your plaster is removed now?
-
I am pretty much happy that my plaster is removed now. Thankfully, now I can go upstairs on my own for shoot. That's the best feeling ever because I hated when people used to carry me up and down, I hated being dependent on others. Also, the difficult part was that, to save others from all the trouble, I used to sit on the sets for hours together between the scenes. I would not go to my room or restroom for 4-5 hours, just so that people don't have to bear the pain of carrying me around. I had to go through it but nevertheless I am very happy that I did everything possible and I am very proud of the fact that I didn't leave any of my commitments. In fact, the best part is that I partied the most when I had this fracture. This fracture has liberated me as a person, it has made me stronger and made me realize that if I can survive this fracture, I can survive a lot more adversities in my life.

Are you able to walk properly now?
-
I still cannot walk properly because firstly it hurts me when I put pressure on it so I am undergoing physiotherapy sessions. There is certain stiffness and there are certain muscles and tissues which are not supporting as of now so I have to reactivate them. I have to exercise a lot, there are minor exercises for each muscle so that they recover quickly and I get back on the track.

Being in a plaster you managed to shoot every day, how difficult was it for you?
-
It is obviously very much difficult to shoot in plaster because I used to get this constant swelling in my foot whenever I used to leave it hanging. At times the scenes were long and I had to sit in certain positions for long intervals, so once the swelling would start, then it would hurt also and shooting used to become difficult. And as I said earlier being carried by people, being dependent on others, having that feeling of being disabled and the fact that you are unable to do certain things on your own, was kind of pulling me down. But I fought with myself and I always told myself that it's all in the state of mind. If I seize shooting obviously things won't recover, obviously my foot won't become ok in a minute, or an hour or after a day's holiday. So I thought that why not go with the flow, bear some amount of pain so that the shooting becomes smooth. I didn't take any holiday or any time off for the injury. I was continuously shooting for Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, I did every act that I was supposed to do for Television Style Awards (jiske rehearsal mein I got hurt). I did all my appearances, catalogue shoots and completed all my commitments. Because I am a woman of my words and I never step back whatsoever, especially because other's money is employed on me so I never let them down, be it my producers or anybody else.

Recently you Attended Karan's marriage so how was it?
-
Karan's marriage was beautiful. He has a lovely family and I loved meeting them. He is lucky to be born in such a family and Ankita is a lucky girl that she went into this beautiful family. It's good to meet such nice and positive people. I loved all the functions, I went for his Bachelors' or Spinsters' party, Sangeet and Reception. All the functions were very well organized. I might not have been dancing but yes I was there for the couple. It's beautiful to see him get settled. I know Ankita so well and I am happy that Karan has got a wife like her.

Any advice/message you would like to give to Karan and Ankita?
-
My advice/message for Karan and Ankita would be that they look beautiful together, they are compatible and the best part is that they started on a very friendly note; they are friends even after marriage. And I wish that their friendship continues forever and I hope that they stick together through every thick and thin in the years to come.
