with all it's flaws I believe that's what gives YHM such an appeal... if it was perfect with loads of romance (which I totally despise of 🤢 ) and completely positive characters I would throw up!!! I love the space in which YHM is built.. The imperfections and as you correctly pointed out the need for "growth" is what makes me love the "gem" so much!!Originally posted by: krishy13
I agree with Peace!
I think YHM was the finest show on television until we got to the middle of the Mani track. Since then, this show lost a lot of consistency, subtlely, intentionality of dialogs, & overall positivity. I know a lot of us started to watch the show because it was a nice positive refresher at the end of the day. There was drama, but it was balanced. We also had lots of moments highlighting the beautiful subtle nature of relationships. However, recently we see character sketches constantly being botched just for the sake of drama and many situations seem forced for the sake of drama. We also don't see many characters being used to their full potential.YHM still has the best ensemble cast I've seen in a while and a storyline with a ton of potential. If the pressure to get TRPs was not so obvious, I would be able to confidently say it's the best show on TV.What still makes YHM a great show is episodes like today...where you get to see a dad bend over backwards to bring a smile on his daughter's face, a husband showing his love for his wife despite being in a fight with her, and a wife stand up for her hubby. Today's episode was one of the best in a while because it subtly & beautifully highlighted the core relationships in the show!No intention to bash because despite everything I still love this show and think YHM is a gem of a show compared to the others. However, like everything in life, there is room for growth!
I've seen glimpses of all the shows you've mentioned and my impression of each was the same; these are typical and offer me nothing to think about once they are turned off.. I don't look forward to watching their epis and they follow the same trend of a "quintessential love story" between the two protagonists with other side characters given their own tracks with no significance to the "actual storyline" whereas what sets YHM apart is the fact that each character.. each scene is has it's own importance to the track itself... 😊 YHMian forever!!!I say there was a tym wen YHM was way way better dan any other show on TV.
It still remains d best of d lot, but d gap has reduced now imo.. some nice new shows hv some up- like Tere Shehar mein, Tu mera hero, even IKNMP and Nisha aur uske arent too bad..
i know none of d shows i hv mentioned hv d ability to keep u glued as much as YHM. But only thing i wud say, i am not as glued to YHM as much i used to be bfor. I do not watch repeats of d show now, I wudnt mind delays in watching d episodes either.Originally posted by: umeirah02

what had hooked you before?
the performances are still very strong. The subtlety was definitely in the epi today & not to forget the beautiful bond between IshRaRu emerged very strongly today!!as i said bfor:
earlier d screenplay was taut..d script used to be exciting n gripping.D quality of dialogues, d comedy, d teasing, d romance, d emotion, d subtlelity, d acting, d relationships.. everything hooked me😊
