I liked your write up in the LU thread because you are right about the human characteristics of Raman, but I think what's this track so hard to adjust to for his character is the recent track record of mistakes being made with little actual growth. Ignoring all semblance of logic in this track, it still has been shown that Raman takes advantage of Ishita's kindness, yells at her for things unrelated to her, and makes mistakes...but none of them have had truly proper closure ...hence viewer burnout.
I totally agree. Never do I take sides of any character nor do I judge any of them, especially the leads. The show has come to a point where its brilliance comes out only in some instances, not regularly. It's magic is scenic and not constant. Logic is a faraway dream. The only thing they are true to is their basic story of custody battle, parenting and a budding relation going through its bumps between all this. No track, NOT a single track, may it be related to any character has a justified closure the past few months. As a regular viewer I am left with nothing but to reason why what was shown, just so that I can continue watching it. Because I can't stop even if it pushes me to at some points. 😆
I have said that before and say it now. Raman takes undue advantage of Ishita. And I've been waiting to see NOT just a realization from him, because he always has them. He needs to do something about it NOW.
In terms of "the scene" in today's episode...I had the same thought watching it. Whether I agree with it's inclusion or not is a different story, but I think his need for intimacy stems from the statement he made on Holi that they would take their relationship to the next level after Adi's tension is gone. But now he knows even if Adi's tension may be gone a worse black cloud is coming into their relationship, keeping them from being one.
See no matter how shitty the show or an episode might get. We know how IshRa are.. We've got the sense of how the characters are written and how far they can be taken, good or bad. So going by that. If I have to judge Raman here. I do know he didn't just get close to her because of a purpose. Would he not if this issue wasn't standing this moment. Yes he wanted a chance to flick those papers. But that moment, the guilt on his face and the love and compassion for her seemed like him holding onto some moments before he destroys it all. He does know this is going to have devastating affects. I could be wrong and the cv's may turn out to make this all shallow. But for now I say what I gathered.
Does this justify it? Idk...if I were Ishita, when I realized what happened the night before...I would question my husband's intentions. The knee jerk interpretation would be that he used intimacy as a tool, belittling their relationship. But we can try to understand Raman's POV for the action, but in the grand scheme of things...it's messy!
And yes. I feel terrible, almost teary when I see this all from Ishita's POV. So happy about having Ruhi back. So elated to feel needed and desired by her husband and then learn what he did might just be a trick even if the intentions and feelings weren't.. is going to get a huge reaction and it's going to be messy...
Thanks for your positivity, Anku! 🤗
Thanks back to you 🤗
