I said in my page-1 post today, that I am beyond Raman vs. Ishita now... because I think they are being made to fight and shown on separate corners, only for the sake of it 😛 So what I am going to say below, is not intended to point fingers at either Raman or Ishita... but I want to ask...

"How is Romi's marriage with Sarika different from Raman-Ishita's marriage ?"

- Sarika wasnt being respected earlier. she was called names. now, only because they need the child they are looking for her. OK. Bhallas hated Iyers, put Ishita in jail, didnt call her 'characterless' but did call her names. they needed Ruhi's custody and everyone agreed to the marriage.

- Ishita couldn't have a child, and Sarika cannot have a normal family.

- Romi is someone who doesnt respect women. Yes, Raman didn't get anyone pregnant or release MMSes, but he had little respect for women at that point in his life. He even used women to make a point that all of them are gold-diggers.

I honestly want to know the differences, because I am seeing only the similarities. The people involved are different agreed, but i want to understand why are we against the idea of Romi Sarika marriage.

I am against the way they r going about it- y shud Sarika get married to Romi? Just coz he cant bear a Child?

Does Romi want to marry n can he be a husband to Sarika?

Shud Sarika get married only due to social pressure and for her child getting a respectable name in society?

Ishra marriage was too about convenience but then both parties agreed - here most important factor is wud Sarika agree to it? Wud Romi not develop cold feet later on n back out?

Megha, I agree about Sarika. I dont think she should only because her child will grow up without a father. Yes, she should display self-respect and ensure she gets the respect she deserves before she agrees. If I were in her shoes I would have said the same things.

BUT, my point is about our reaction to the 2 situations. IshRa and Romi-Sarika.

Even Ishita and Raman weren't fond of each other, and they agreed after some resistance. Ishita could have stayed alone. who says a woman needs a child? Ruhi could have gotten the love from her uncle & aunts and grandparents. But the ideal solution in that case was for them to get married. So why does Sarika's child not deserve the love of 2 parents? One more thing to consider in Romi Sarika's case is, the child is theirs. so at some point in their life, even for the briefest moment, they actually had affection for each other. In my books, I think the probability of that marriage succeeding would be higher than Ishita & Raman's.

If Ishita and Raman weren't the leads of this show and if the story was not revolving around them, would we have had a different reaction, that is what I am asking.
